The pool facilities are great
Quilts are too thick it’s too hot

we booked for use of the pool and availability of many rooms
we pre-ordered food the week before and it was 2 hours late. the rooms were also messed up despite me calling ahead of time and leaving names for the rooms to make sure it didn’t happen. I had to spend an hour trying to get it sorted it whilst I was supposed to be preparing for the final of my touch rugby tournament which is why we were staying. Children are also allowed in the pool til quite late on weekends. they shouldn’t be allowed after 5pm as it was like a crèche

Great location close to the University

Good location
lack of healthy choices in restaurant

Pool steam room
Noise banging people running around
Ask for room service not respond
3.7
Not much
Where do we start? Nobody at check in and check out. No air con. No sockets near bed for a fan anyway?! I literally slept in a sauna and was knackered in the morning after spending 10 hours on a train. Won’t be back
3.7
Staff friendly and checked for earlier room, sadly there wasn’t one. Good bed size and spacious room. Would have been better if option to get an earlier check in. Staff refunded breakfast which we missed as got the time wrong. Liked the Starbucks.
Missed breakfast would have been helpful to have a sign in room with times.

Rooms, bar, staff
Nothing
3.7
Easy to find, comfortable bed, Starbucks on site
Toilet seat would not stay up, loud music from the pub as windows were needed to be opened as no fan. Could do with some plug sockets by bed to charge phones.
3.7
Location was good for our weekend at Donington, short drive away.
Food was really nice in the restaurant, I recommend their wraps!
Clean and tidy.
Beds are amazing.
Weird location to our room, had to climb stairs, take 2 lifts and then walk up and round again. I couldn't understand who planned the layout and why.
Gutted we missed the themed night, that we knew nothing about until we turned up. They couldn't add us on - on the day, check for village dinner shows before arriving.

the room was lovely, the fan didnt work very well, kept going onto hot and no remote, but it was ok. The facilities were really good and enabled us to work in comfort. Loved the swimming pool and that it was accessible for a lot of the day. All in all an amazing stay
other than the fan, nothing

Staff friendly
It said you had to pay to swim in the pool. Offer of points worth £5 if you signed up.. which I did but as we'd paid for our meals in advance & had our dinner I could not see how to take advantage of my discount £5.Had to borrow adapter to charge my phone..a different plug in hotel room to my usual.
I booked 2 rooms (4 people) & rooms not the same & on different floors!¡

Staff helpful& friendly
You had to pay extra to swim park car etc & we had to ask to borrow an adapter to charge phone.. our plug wouldn't fit...I think this should be mentioned in booking info. & only 2 towels for the 2 of us.. 1 bath towel & 1 hand towel.. as I said staff were great so Im sure if we had asked we would have been given an extra towel.. so no problem really. ( Just undressed late at night when we realised).also I booked 2 rooms & they were on different floors. They did apologise when we checked in one of the rooms the beds were almost on the floor so I hope they found them ok

Friendly staff great location for what we needed.
Expensive for room only. Breakfast was extra and ran out of a few things coffee and plates for example so had to wait. If you’re staying with your kids be aware they aren’t allowed in the pool after 6 o’clock.
3.7
Room size. Clean. Good price.
Towel rail broken. Nowhere to hang stuff in bathroom. Toilet didn’t flush properly.
3.7
Bar and reception staff were supper friendly and helpful, 10 points to them. The bar and restaurant area was always great to end an evening.
Wifi was terrible, cleaning staff were certainly not up to scratch I think that in the 2 weeks I was there they may have vacuumed the room twice, I had to go down to reception several times to get toilet paper and towels. The view in my room was of the air ducting of the hotel. I would have imagined that for the amount I paid I would have at least got a better view.
3.7
Clean
No room service and didn’t allow me to buy an alcoholic drink before 12 even though it was the morning of my wedding.

I was making a quick stop to see some friends before heading up to newark for some work, the hotel is absolutely lovely, and they have genuinely some of the most friendly and lovely staff, they were super chatty and helpful, Dave, Collin and there was a lady there when I checked out who was also super lovely and helpful, the room was great and it was such a lovely stay, will defiantly be going back there

Unfortunately te bad outweighed aby good and the after sales service i thought was alright took a nose dive when an agreed refund still hasnt been paid a month later
This hotel prioritises events above hotel guests
The noise from an event downstairs cohld still be heard gone 1am then started again again 6am with some sort of dj dance fitness class. Staff can do absolutely nothing about it!
They also allow event guests to continue partying outside reception area til 5am despite a customers complaint!
Rooms were unclean, towels had some sort of blood on them, no lights worked other than 1 bedside lamp.
And the window may as well be made of toilet paper because it was blocking out no noise and you could feel the air blowing through the edges.
The customer service after via email seemed to be going well and a partial refund was offered and accepted but still yet to receive a month later and now im being ignored

location next to nature reserve excellent.
Very poor DIY check in, with no customer service. There is no reception desk or smart and polite staff to welcome you. Basically it’s a desk with 6 terminals and a bloke in a scruffy t shirt there to help if you get stuck. You have to check yourself in and make your own key…..when doing this your room number briefly flashes up on the screen which you have to remember, no card to slip key in with a reminder of your room number.
Cafe at hotel very scruffy.
No phones in room, so when at3 am neighbouring room was still partying after 2 hours and continued in corridor it was difficult to get hold of security or reception. Basically I had to scramble for my phone, find number of hotel ring this, which takes you to their switchboard by 2 menu systems to speak to someone in the middle of the night….very unsafe. Breakfast was poor quality food used and no bacon….they ran out!
This hotel used to be excellent, but now they are so poor.
