Location
Very comfy beds duvets and pillows
Excellent shower
Room smelt a little musty when we first arrived.
Bedside light not working
Loo handle falling off
Bath was surface clean but very stained and needs a good deep clean; I would not have had a bath.
Bedroom was very similar to premier inn but not as new and clean- so what would you do to elevate it?
Breakfast was fine, but we didn’t book for the second day because we felt we’d get a better breakfast for the price in a cafe. For a better quality breakfast you’d need to spend out more to have better ingredients though.
Sausage was poor quality, poached egg tasted of vinegar, bacon had little white bits of water residue on it, tomato wasn’t browned. Coffee was weak and watery.

Great breakfast, lovely staff
No hot water in room also although there was a shower attachment the bath had no shower rail / curtain. Couple of fittings broken in the room as well.

L'amabilité du personnel
Le parking
Le calme
Les tables en extérieur dans un jardin (mais n'avons pas pu en profiter à cause de la pluie)
Le confort moyen de la chambre / SDB. La chambre penche un peu et le lit aussi.

The staff were very polite and it was great that they are dog friendly
In our room we had a many problems. Such as some electrical sockets were loose. There was a dangerous step going into the bathroom. Also my partner hit his head going to the toilet as the door and ceilings are so low. There should be a sign(s) and strips to at least highlight the many health and safety issues. Working for the council in health & safety things like this are not acceptable for a hotel I assumed was fairly high standard and reputable . The water took ages to get warm. The floor and the area of the building that we stayed in had VERY creaky floors. You can hear everyone moving around.

The location was extremely convenient for all the places we wanted to visit. The restaurant was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The bathroom was a little dated and the shower could have been more powerful.

We enjoyed the dinner menu
We had to move from our first room - in the roof, low ceilings, very hot - one small window - no shower, poor water flow in bathroom, broken main light, broken toilet roll holder, no BBC available on room TV

Location is quiet but a short drive from Rye

I liked the jacuzzi and that they had seats outside. Staff were lovely, attentive, the place was clean and the had a nice gym and spa onsite
Would have been cheaper to go to Spain! The room was boiling and the dog was panting all night even with a fan. Menu is very limited and very overpriced however, the Sunday roast and the desserts were lovely but we travelled from London to stay here and it was on par price wise.

Lovely setting. Superb breakfast and eve meals. Very helpful and friendly team.
Great pool & spa
Our room wasn’t the best. We would def book again but request different room. Being an old property with an extension the quality of rooms varied significantly. Ours was second floor, up 2 flights of stairs and was quirky. Plenty of character. Only handshower in bath. I’m sure the helpful staff would have moved us if we had requested but decided to stay put.

The location is lovely. There are some great footpaths near to the hotel. Rye is a short drive away.
We opted not to have any meals in the restaurant at the hotel. It is very brightly lit and the decor is a bit disappointing for a country house hotel. I suspect that the main users of the restaurant are the elderly.

Staff were lovely and friendly. Food was excellent in restaurant.
Bathroom was outdated and dark. The shower was in the bath, not separate, so older people with mobility issues would not be able to use. No water in room and no glasses to get water from bathroom sink tap, as directed in the room information guide. Rinsing after brushing teeth was challenging - we had to use the dirty china mug supplied for tea/coffee.

Plenty of parking, friendly staff
Due to the location of our room there was a fair amount of noise. Would have liked a complimentary bottle of water in the room (even just tap water in a bottler)

Was leuk weer daar te zijn, zoals gewoonlijk goed ontvangst.
wij kregen de Kamer die gevraagd was. Leuk toch.
Personeel was beetje onvriendelijker dan anders.
Voor de rest alles in orde hoor.

The evening dinner and the pool.
The traditional English breakfast was a little sparse, and there was no brown sauce supplied with it.

The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. We would definitely stay there again.
The superior double rooms are very spacious and big enough to have a sofa bed rather than just a couple of chairs.

The dining area was pleasant and the food was very good. The swimming pool was quite a nice size.
The room was a decent size.
Staff generally tried to be helpful but didn't seem to be trained up to the aspiration of the hotel.
The 'junior suite' was disappointing - rather run down, with ill fitting bathroom door/lock, view of a brick wall, and cold! We had to keep asking about the heating as not even the towel rail was consistently warm, so swimming things and towels didn't dry. The phone to reception didn't work so it meant a physical trip each time.
The mattress was far too soft. The WiFi was very weak.
The spa was underwhelming with no warm relaxation area, just two beds by the pool. The jacuzzi was out of action. The pool attendants were inconsistent in their application of rules.
The breakfast was table service, but the menu seemed short of cereals and fruit; these only appeared when we saw a buffet laid out for a tour party.
Overall the hotel seemed more a restaurant with some rooms and a small health club, not a country house spa hotel.

We had visited the hotel before but not stayed. We needed to book additional room which was done effectively. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff attentive. Our room was very spacious and appeared recently refurbished.
For the price the traditional breakfast was rather small but on second day "Big Breakfast " was just right. Costing breakfast by item eg extra toast and coffee was on mean side having regard to basic price of breakfast.

Older property but convenient facilities. Pool and gym a bonus and spa treatment good. Nice grounds and good location.
Wifi not great

Location : wasn’t great as on noisy Rd so when sitting in garden could hear traffic.
Room: basic for what was charged. It was very clean and spacious however bathroom was dated the odd tap dripped shower curtain rail was rusty and the power of the shower was terrible that we didn’t bother using.
Food : was ok. Breakfast was very expensive for what was served. This led us to breakfast out to receive better value and quality.
Staff - were very polite in the restaurant. Staff at reception were polite but need to be more welcoming and not organising there paper work over reception floor/stairs.
Pets : In all the hotels we have stayed in when we have been charged for our dog we have received complimentary dog disposal bags, treats etc. (it’s just a kind gesture even if the owner has paid fir their stay)
So hence will not be returning.

Came as a nice surprise when we got stuck in the area and there were no vacancies in Rye. It’s the ‘full package’, and staff well above standard. Food also well worth it.
3.5 / 5.0
The staff were delightful, spa facilities great, location beautiful, loved the pool and jacuzzi and proximity to tillingham. We had a really great time. The midday check out time was a major bonus.
I think the food really needs some major improvement — we ended up spending £80 on four breakfasts (we didn’t know the cost wasn’t included in the room!) that were pretty tasteless and verging on inedible. The chef seems to have never heard of salt. My friend had a very bad steak on the Saturday night and everything was lacking in flavour, salt, seasoning. Our room was pretty basic and uncomfortable — decor was below what you’d expect from a travelodge. I think you need to spend some money on updating the rooms and bathrooms.

The room we had was amazing, clean and well presented.
The spa was just what was needed.
The breakfast was lacking, £12.50 for food that came out of the oven wasn't a good way to start the day.
