The location, food, the room. Everything.
Nothing I can think of.

The property is beautiful and room spotless. Very comfortable.

Very nice room, bar and restaurant. Food was excellent at both dinner and breakfast. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The pub is next door to a lovely chalk garden. It is very peaceful up on the hill, a great place to unwind.

I was mistaken that on the Booking.com website that breakfast was included but for some reason for two breakfasts cost £32.90 but I have no idea how they arrived at this figure likewise I never received a bill for evening meal till I asked for a breakdown and received this morning
I have to say this was very unsatisfactory
The bedroom was very good but sound proofing not good. The shower tea and coffee were excellent and the bed was excellent
Dinner was excellent but the wine was very expensive
The hotel was luxury compared to Premier Inn and Travelodge

Staff were exceptional - rare these day! Extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Perhaps a little too dog friendly for me - particularly around eating areas. Alas a bit issue for me...

Loved everything about this place! A hidden gem. My suite was amazing, with the most luxurious bathroom and the comfiest bed. This place has such a homely feel. I enjoyed a delicious evening meal in the restaurant. I’ll definitely be returning!
Nothing!

Great location. Quiet. Comfortable beds. Quality bathroom with lovely toiletries. All staff very attentive and welcoming. Breakfast was good.
Nothing. Perhaps better choice of herbal teas in bedrooms.
4.5
Nice room, good dinner and friendly efficient staff.
Like many UK hotels, breakfast doesn't start early enough for those staying on business - so I wasn't able to have breakfast before I left.
No coffee machine in the room!! Very unusual now for a decent quality hotel to only have instant coffee - disappointing given that breakfast wasn't open either.
And dinner was tasty but the portion size of the fish I had was tiny.

A beautiful property with matching surroundings. Our room was very comfortable and well equipped. We also enjoyed the Residents’ Lounge for a night cap! The staff were friendly and helpful; the service at breakfast was excellent. Great breakfast choices and very tasty.
4.5
Convenient and well located - gorgeous gardens and countryside just steps away.
We had excellent breakfasts and enjoyed our meals, and there’s plenty of space, which we appreciated as there was space for children to explore without disturbing other guests.
The only suggestions I’d make are on the menu - to include some plain vegetables as side dishes and to include a fruity dessert.

Lovely comfortable room. Pretty terrace and gardens with outside seating and restaurant, food excellent and good value. There was also a tearoom on site and beautiful gardens to explore next door.

4.5
Tastefully decorated room with comfortable bed, plenty of space and thoughtful extras. The restaurant was excellent with a varied and tasty menu. Breakfast was particularly good value when booked as part of the stay. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - nothing was too much bother.
Really lovely quiet location with good local walks and a beautiful chalk garden to explore. A great detox from busy life.
The price of the room was a little expensive compared to other pub bedrooms which is essentially what this is. But everything was so faultless, it is probably worth it. You could stay somewhere cheaper and not get the same standards or service.

The room was very comfortable, and the overall location and ambience is very good. The evening meal was less good than we have had previously and the breakfast was not much above average
Staff clearing away the breakfast serve yourself at least an hour before the end of breakfast whilst guests were still eating. Secondly whilst I appreciate it is only once a month having a load of yapping/barking dogs congregating with their owners for their monthly walk. Totally unacceptable with noone trying to keep the dogs quiet

The open fire was very welcome this cold weather. The staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was to much trouble they really go overboard to help you.
We thought the food was very good but pricey. We also thought a menu with some more plain food like sandwiches on are needed because if you have a rich lunch tea time you don't want to order off the same menu.
3.5
Substantial breakfast but not very creative gf/vegan options. Cleared away before we'd finished. Coffee cold.
Evening meal (mains) poor for pescitarians. Suite was small, plain, 3 x price of similar elsewhere

Great location, nice and quiet, modern very spacious rooms. Fantastic bed, large smart TV and just really lovely.
Quite bad mould in corners of the shower and orange grime around bottom of the shower (Room 12) which was the only fault to a great stay.
