Convenient location close to A1
Incredibly uncomfortable beds
Excessively hot bedroom
DIY dining
Faux medieval decor

Staff were friendly
No fitness facilities despite what is advertised on the booking page. The double bed is two single beds pushed together, makes for quite the uncomfortable sleep.

Amazing room amazingly settings
I liked everything

The staff were all amazing, so friendly. Varied menu for lunch/supper and great continental/English breakfast along with smashed avocado & salmon etc.
We found the bed really comfortable but pillows way to firm. The Luxury toiletries are really basic.

Lovely gardens, staff extremely helpful and very polite. Excellent choice for breakfast. Nice location. Charming characterful building.
1st room we were in overlooked the roof of kitchen where the noise from the air conditioning units etc were noisy but moved rooms no problem and second room much better although we found the bed wasn’t as comfortable.

Excellent welcome, amazing dinners (choice, quality and Yorkshire portion size!), lovely quirky building, plenty of car parking, very helpful bar/restaurant and Reception staff. Well done them.
Breakfast choices very good, and mix of self service and waited worked extremely well.
Standard room not huge but very pleasant with countryside views to rear.
Beds are I think standard double, so if you're used to King or Superking it feels a bit cosy!

the staff were really helpful and friendly. the breakfast was lovely done as I wanted
bannisters were a bit sticky and the floors were quite uneven, at times quite a lot. no mixer taps in bathroom meaning hot water was too hot on its own. the side to the bed to put things on was co ered I the same carpet as the floor and it just felt unclean. the mattress held you too much meaning I had to lurch out of bed as difficult to get up off it

The room was large, and we had plenty of space to unpack, relax, and feel at home. The bath was excellent, and there was a TV directly facing it. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic, one of the best buffet breakfasts we have ever had at a hotel, and the staff were lovely. Great value for money.
The skylights in the room needed blinds, as the sun unfortunately woke us up before 5am each day. The bathrobe that was provided was lovely, but it would have been nice if two were provided in the room. The only other point is that there are 5 superior king rooms down the back left, but only 4 full designated car parks for these rooms. It would be nice if these could be numbered for the suites, and an extra space included so that there is one per suite.

Property is in a beautiful spot and is a lovely building. We stayed over just for a night away to do nothing. The reception staff were engaging and welcoming. Room was spotlessly clean. We didn’t have a view from window but it wasn’t a problem we had the blind down anyway. Couldn’t be bothered to go down to the restaurant for food so they brought it up. Absolutely amazing quality and service. Air con in room was a godsend as I am always hot. Really had a nice stay and breakfast just completed it. So much choice! Quality produce and lovely staff yet again. Highly recommend this place and will happily go back.
Only downfall was shower was small and bed very hard but that’s personal preference. Nothing to dislike at all.

Nice rural location, old manorhouse, extended typical wedding venue, nice pub like athmosphere in the restaurant, pleasant staff, good food at dinner and excellent breakfast
upon entering the room we saw the bathroom was not clean, so the staff aptly moved us immediately to another room.... sadly this was facing in inner court with quite noisy airco condensor fans waking us up several times during the night.

Lovely building with lots of history.

Lovely building in a lovely setting. Friendly staff and very comfortable, well decorated modern rooms, especially considering the age of the building. Fantastic breakfast.
Shame there is no leisure facilities but that may be difficult. Otherwise perfect place to relax and unwind.

The food ...both evening meal and breakfast at the jacobean pub were really nice n good value for money . The grounds and views were beautiful n peaceful . Nice bathroom. Free parking.
Funny smell in the room. Like someone had done a number 2, and it wouldn't go away. Could hear everything from the room next door. Bed were too hard for me. I didn't complain, though. There was a wedding booked for the day after, and I felt out of place
