Perfect dream location

Spaciousness. Big, fitted, equipped kitchen. Hot tub for future use. Beautifully set up. My dog was welcome. Self contained room.
Lack of perimeter fencing to keep dogs enclosed and safe.

What a lovely little gem of a place, loved the location especially as it was in the middle of a field! So quiet, super comfy beds and pillows, had the best sleep. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Met the two wonderful hosts in the morning for a little chat and some advice for the rest of our visit.
Look forward to a return visit, and thank you!

Fantastic location just outside of York with beautiful countryside views and comfy beds! Gorgeous decoration and shared kitchen and living room facilities were extensive. The ladies who run the lodge are absolutely lovely and we spent quite some time talking to them - both fantastic!
We weren’t aware we had to strip our own bed, empty room bins and clean cups. We understand it’s self catering but at the same time, it’s also a hotel and this took the night away “treat” element out of it a bit. Also the extension lead to the fridge in the wardrobe didn’t work, which meant my partner had to physically move the mini fridge to a plug in the room, something I couldn’t have done myself if I was staying alone. In all fairness, we didn’t advise the staff about this while we were there as we only stayed one night.

I have stayed there few times and I love it there because it very peaceful especially after work. Remember this is self catering. But it got tea/coffee in the bedroom. Looking forward to stay there in the future.

As I have stayed there so many times and mostly just for one night, the reason why I picked this as it quite and very peaceful surrounding. This place is self-catering and lovely place and have kettle, fridge, tv, coffee/tea in the bedroom and remember to bring your own shampoo/soap. Looking outside the window it so peaceful and feeling relaxed.
Nothing to add.

Lots of character, nice rooms and good location. Far away enough from York for peace but close enough it’s just a short taxi journey in.
The property was lovely, really easy to find and it had lots of character.
Hosts greeted us but it would have been nice if we were shown around the property and the areas we were allowed to use.
The fridge didn’t work in our room and it also smelt really bad of food. There wasn’t any towels or toiletries either, having looked at the photos we thought these would have been provided as shown on the photos. There was a very strong smell of sulphur coming in through the windows although they weren’t even open. Also the gap under the door needs filling in or a draught excluder to put there as the light comes in under and you don’t feel you have as much privacy. The phone signal there isn’t great which is fine but also the wifi wasn’t great, it barely worked which made finding numbers for taxis etc quite difficult to do.

Nice and quiet location.
The room was spacious, beds could be a little wider though for 2 people.
Great garden and view from our room.
The bathroom tap is unfortunately broken and you can not change from shower to bath setting. No coffee in the room, only milk was available. The location of the television is not wel chosen a different bracket could sort this.

The actual place was unique, quirky and very nice and the host was very welcoming.
Beds were a bit uncomfortable and the bath was really difficult to get out of.

I have stayed there few times already, remember this is like a self-catering but I never used the kitchen as I bring my own food in the bedroom which is no problem. Very quiet and peaceful.
Nothing to add.

The room was great, comfortable, clean and well presented.
I would have liked shower gel provided and also not to strip the bed myself.

Excellent location in the countryside which was very peaceful.
Very convenient for York cremeatorium as we had to attend a funeral.
Garage south of the drive had excellent meals for home cooking and the Fat Abbott restaurant was very good.

A little Gem, No, a big Gem! an ideal spot for everything, including the park and ride into York just a 5 minute drive away from the property. You walk out of the door into the countryside and surrounding fields.
The property is exceptionally and tastefully decorated, with the rooms filled with stylish & comfortable furnishings.
Facilities include everything you would need for your stay, be it for a few nights or longer.
Nothing at all!

The building inside and out was gorgeous, the gardens were lovely too, although I didn't have time to go out in them. I actually had the whole place to myself as there were no other guests staying. I would definitely stay here again and bring some food to cook with.
The turning from the property onto the A road was a bit tricky.

This room was great value. The place is very homely. I’d definitely recommend it. Nice en suite bathroom, but would be nice to have a complimentary shower gel.
Our fridge in our room was not working and I had our breakfast milk with us, and it was not until morning that I noticed I could have placed it in the kitchen fridge. We also had trouble trying to obtain the key. It was hard to work out what door we were going to as it was dark when we arrived and there were a few to try. We then put in the code but the lock would not open so we were still not sure we had the right door. We had to telephone the emergency number but the lady we spoke to was very helpful but at that point my husband managed to get the lock open - I think it may need some attention as it was hard to open. This panicked me a bit as I thought we’d end up in the car all night.

location, great for dog walks, easy parking
our room was not heated ( we arrived early to be fair) but the heating wasn’t due to come on until 4PM. We couldn’t find logs for the log fire.

Location was ideal for getting into York. Large room. Great wet room. Self-catering facilities were good, even though we didn't make use of them during our short stay.
Luckily it was dry, else parking in the muddy field would have been an issue.
