Lovely big room with fantastic views over the town!
Nothing
4.0
It’s location and the view from the room/ back terrace/ breakfast dining room
The outside pool had no jacuzzi as advertised- the staff were great however.
The room window was dirty on the inside and the toilet roll holder and shower had long standing marks - unsightly rust and mould respectively. I asked for these to be addressed as soon as I saw them on arrival, I was assured they would be dealt with, they were not.
The jacuzzi controls did not work and the jacuzzi was lukewarm - I told the receptionist who said they knew about it and were waiting for parts - again. Not as advertised.

The rooms were really nice, comfortable beds, quiet and well appointed.
The common areas were well kept and attractive, there are amazing views across Newquay and it is set far enough out of the main town to be quiet but walkable to Fistral Beach and the high street.
The staff are exceptional, so friendly and nothing is too much trouble, we were always greeted with a smile.
Not our fault or the hotels, but what I had booked on Booking.com had not been sent across correctly to the hotel, so we ended up with an incorrect room. It was handled perfectly by the hotel and did not affect our stay.

Views were stunning, facilities were excellent, beautiful inside.
Nothing to dislike about the property
4.0
Close beach proximity.
The room we stayed in meant to have harbour view but couldn’t see the harbour.
The bathroom window was nailed shut.
Stains on the carpet.
Bathroom shelves fell off.
Bed was a little bit too firm.

Good heated pool
Had dinner. Food menu very limited for vegetarian/vegan visitors.

The bed was so comfy, the breakfast was really nice, the welcome was perfect. It is so beautiful inside very classy with an amazing view.
The rooms need a little bit of touching up and the balcony was not usable to sit outside due to the bird muck everywhere that has been there for a while. The jacuzzi did not work properly in the spa and is looking a little tired in places.

The location was great, aswell as the indoor pool and spa facilities.
The views were very nice from our room, staff were pleasant
When you walk in it looks great but the rooms are Very out dated. Old carpets which really didn’t smell great. Booked a double room but two twin beds pushed together, meant slipping down the crack, cleaning standards weren’t very high found blood up the bathroom wall and stains on the sheets. Had to wait till 4pm to check in because our room wasn’t ready for a 3pm check in. Paid extra for a poolside room only had 1.30hrs to use as it’s closed around 5:45. Hair dryer blew up when using it, not one to kick up a fuss but we did inform the staff of this due to it being a safety hazard and they were apologetic Over all I wouldn’t book again. For the price of the room I expect a little bit more.

Good breakfast, limited a la carte menu which were too fancy, keep it simple with a limited menu but do it well, we liked both the pools but the outside one was dirty as were the floor areas around the pool.
No lift and it looks like it's not worked for a long time, and no one knew when it was going to be fixed, it maybe that it needs a complete new lift was suggested. The cost of meals and drinks is very expensive £11.60 for a pint of beer and a small glass of house wine, £4 for a diet coke. 2 dishes were returned as not acceptable quality, we were still charged for them because we accepted a complimentary drink, which was a cheaper option for the hotel. Limited car parking especially when there is a wedding on, always best to check.

The room and veiw
No lift, service in restaurant very slow , breakfast quality not 4 star. Ambience and availability of decent drinks in the bar was quite poor.

The scenery is fantastic and easy to walk into the town, or along to the harbour with a short coast walk. I also really liked the hotel and the decor. The heating was broken when we were there and the weather was shocking, but the staff put a portable fan in our room to help us warm up and dry off which was kind.
Nothing really, although it’s having a bit of a renovation at the moment. When the renovations are finished, it will be stunning.

Beautiful location felt quite posh
Felt a little bit old could do with something to modernise it, if you don't like hills it's at the very top of one

I loved the decor, it was opulent & clean. The balcony suite was airy & clean. Lots of space. Everything we needed was provided - we loved it.
Lift was out of order but we were notified ahead of time. It did make the luggage thing tricky

The sea views from our balcony room, the jacuzzi in the swimming pool and the breakfast room were breathtaking. It was also quiet both due to the location and not many guests. The location was perfect as it was only a 5-10 minute walk to central Newquay and Fistral beach. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast quality, selection and variety was perfect for staying a few days.
Nothing not to like.

Location is great and the sea views are wonderful.
It needs lots of work to get it back to an acceptable condition. Shower didn’t work, damp and water stains, paint flaking off the walls in our bedroom, dangerous electrics, the list goes on……

Excellent location , we had wonderful views out of our window. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. They were short staffed but the staff there were very friendly and helpful.
The only problem was that the lift was broken which caused a bit of an issue, although this wasn’t their fault. Would have liked to have a room vacuumed on a daily basis. They could have done with changing the dinner menu and made it a bit more varied, although the food we had was very tasty and served hot.

The room was lovely and we unexpectedly had one with a sea view. The room was of a good size and the bathroom was really spacious too. Breakfast was very good with plenty to choose from. All of the staff we meet were very friendly and accommodating.
The temperature of the room was a bit hot, we had to sleep with the window and balcony door open. The overall temperature of the hotel was warm too.

Lovely location overlooking the sea

Thought the decor and cleanliness was excellent, but outside looked a little tired and needed some work.
External look in some area needed attention, lift being out of order.

Great Hotel in an excellent, easy to get to location. Right on the coast with easy access to the coastal path, beaches and the town centre. Has an indoor pool and spa area to relax in. Nige big well appointed rooms mostly with great views of the area.
Instructions on how to operate the Sauna and Steam room.

The well maintained, spotless hotel, the friendly and helpful staff. The food was delicious.
I think it would be nice to have a larger space to have coffee, and perhaps cakes.
You can get coffee in the bar or on the side of the dining room but somewhere (almost a reading room) where we could order coffee or afternoon tea would be lovely.

Good location, staff were friendly. Room was larger than most.
On 2nd floor and lift was out of action during our stay.

Beautifully presentable, clean and staff were lovely. Meal was marvellous.
Lift was broken, we were top floor! Car parking was horrendous, we had to park down the road in a car park which cost £29 (hotel did not refund). Lovely views.

Rooms were very spacious. Spa treatments were brilliant. Front of house were really friendly and helpful.
Cleanliness of the room could have been better, blinds were dusty and damp. Food was ok but they didn’t listen to the orders well so didn’t get what we ordered. Drinks are very expensive.

Comfortable....v friendly staff. Would stay again for location.
A dated hotel but very comfortable. Extremely friendly welcoming staff.

Location is brilliant, close to beach and Amenities. staff are friendly. Indoor pool, steam room and sauna great for when the weather is poor outside
Lift (Elevator) not working throughout our entire stay. Hotel staff advised this was due to parts not being available. We were on the second floor and each floor had 2 large flights of stairs. Cleaning of Rooms and Balcony were not to high standard. For example, table and desk surfaces not cleaned, Balcony was hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived or during our stay. Cleaning could be better in rooms.

Loved the food in the evening. At the hotel didn't use facilities. Staff fantastic view amazing from our room couldn't fault it. Lovely touches like robes big bath towels etc.
Price of breakfast £22.00 per person. Would have gone to Weatherspoons if we weren't with family

the location and the room
it is the most soulless hotel we have ever stayed in. we were advised on arrival to book silks as it was going to be a busy evening. that was obviously a lie as only two other tables were being used
