Lovely location, nice restaurant, better value than staying at Wanake

View of lake very good. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Heating good.

Could hear some noise between walls of adjoining rooms. Configuration of beds in room was not what we had booked (we booked 2 queen beds) and we had to wait while it was changed. Appreciate, the staff accommodating our request to put the 2 single beds together to make a double.

可能是由于，木地板通铺的原因，我能听到隔壁房间走路的咚咚声。但没有影响我晚上睡觉。

Comfortable view stay location

The location and views were lovely! 5min walk to the beach & the restaurant/bar is only 10 steps away. Our kids loved having their own space upstairs & free wifi.

The beds were quiet uncomfortable but for the price, it was to be expected.

Lovely base to explore this beautiful area all year around

Great location with beautiful view, Room was spacious enough for four of us.

It would be great to have some lights in the carpark area. We arrived after dark and took us a while to find our way to back door where key was left and then our room.

Disappointing and over-priced for a seemingly neglected establishment!

Very impressed with the helpful staff and manager. Location is excellent with a very good restaurant and bar on site.

The rooms are in desperate need of refurbishment. Worn/damaged carpets (some covered with mats to conceal this issue), stained sofa, damaged wooden chairs and brown/cream decor made it a somewhat dreary experience. Furthermore, it looked unclean. Bathroom heater was noisy and rather outdated. Stairway to upper bedroom was creaky. This was an issue during the night when one had to access the bathroom on the ground floor. Views from the room are obstructed by tall shrubs! Alas, this negates the selling point of an accommodation with views of the lake! Overall, such flaws would most certainly make it somewhat embarrassing for staff who preside over this establishment. Alex Polizzi from 'Hotel Inspector' tv series would have a 'field day'! Hopefully, the owner will heed these justified comments.

The restaurant meals were delicious and good quality, great customer service and we got free drink vouchers.We appreciate an email notification regarding ongoing road work outside the hotel.

Road work and road closure. The rooms could do with some upgrades, heater in bathroom is not working.

It is worth staying at this hotel as it is so nice and comfortable rooms. We definitely go again.

The hotel is on the hill like a scenic lookout and you can have a stunning view of the snowy mountains with the beautiful Hawea lake.

It is about 15 minutes from Wanaka but it does not botther us much.

Very clean, spacious and comfortable. Highly recommend

Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable with parking at the door. We had only an overnight stay but views of the lake were superb. We arrived after reception closed but had very prompt answers when we called to let the hotel know we'd be arriving late. Very friendly staff. Would stay here again.

Very basic hotel in lovely setting.

Lake views from balcony. Comfortable beds. Games area in beer garden.

This hotel is very understaffed. Reception hours are limited. The restaurant was closed during our stay. There are no self catering facilities. There are no laundry facilities. The building looks very tired and in need of refurbishment. There are no air conditioning units , only fans, and the mezzanine level got extremely hot.

Misleading advertising, the photos are from the Hotel, NOT from the HoStel

It is very close to the lake, quiet surroundings, free parking. If you ask at the Hotel for a hair dryer they give it to you. Ginger is the cat of the Hostel, "but please don't feed the cat, she only needs cuddles".

Misleading advertising: the photos of Booking are from the Hotel, not from the HoStel. The HoStel doesn't have views of the lake, is dirty, riddled with bugs and very neglected. In 5 days they havn't come to clean, the garbage has been 4 days without throwing away. The bathroom is disgusting, neither in the public toilets nor in the campsites are so bad. The women's bathroom is full of bugs, the shower water does not come out hot. The wifi signal does not reach the HoStel because it is only for those of the Hotel and you have to go to the parking if you want to be connected. The photos of the bar and billiards are not from the HoStel, only from the restaurant-bar that is expensive. The laundry is in a hut that seems abandoned, so it is really panic to put a washing machine or a dryer. Very painful and poor quality.
