location was good for the city. breakfast was functional - not fancy, but filling and tasty

The position of the property was very good. What I liked the most was the staff, particularly Azira and Dijan who were professional, kind, and supportive in helping us solving all the issues we had. They walked the extra-mile to help us.

Big, clean and comfortable bedroom. Very convenient location. Good wifi signal in room
Security staff at the car park lovely.
Corridor to rooms look rather old and dated.
Staff at front desk initially told breakfast staff that we were entitled to breakfast for 2 instead of 3. I had to show them the booking that includes my daughter.
Husband ordered chicken curry with his Nasi Lemak ( coconut rice) but instead the chicken curry was put onto my plate of char Kway teow(fried rice noodles) whilst his plate came without the curry… somewhat sloppy service.

My mother and I really enjoyed our stay here, location is strategic as it is a walking distance to the mall and shops. Nice perfumed smell of the room, cold aircond, comfy bed, working television albeit old and noisy but has good movie channel, hot water was hot and always available, breakfast had a good selection
For the room I booked, no iron, no hair dryer. Everything else is great!

Good location, helpful staff.
The safe box in the room was not bolted to anything and could be picked up and carried away.

The location was central and easy to get around. The room was quite large,
although a little dated and the staff were friendly. The laundry service was quick and easy.
The breakfast had great variety but the hot food was always cold as the burners underneath the dishes were not lit. Although centrally located in the CBD, it is right next door to a mosque which has 4-5 prayer sessions that are broadcast over the city each day. We were fine with most sessions as we were out and about during the day but the 4am session took a lot to get used to.

1. Remote switch control of TV, lamp is not properly working, tv cannot be switch on due to the remotw switch control at the bed is not functioning, lamp also can switch off auto if the remote is accidentally touch
3. Bath floor is harmful, might slippery when wet, not good for the anyone age safety, my suggestion add rubber slippers or rubber mat on the floor

Cheap and good value for money
Not in the nicest area of town, it’s fine for a quick sleep as we did, leaving early the next morning. Looks like a 60’s UK hotel

Breakfast was very good and the service was excellent. Room was spacious enough for our needs. Shower was hot and strong. The desk staff stored our luggage for several hours when requested which was helpful.
a few minor things needed fixing - bathroom sink tap was wobbly, toilet seat not securely attached.

great value budget hotel for an overnight stop
the staff were very good
Sandakan town appeared very unfriendly to tourists. we felt a little bit unsafe walking into the centre to find something to eat.
we went straight back to the hotel after eating.
Felt very safe once in the hotel.

Good location. Nice bed. Clean but dated
For a non smoking floor we got out of the elevator and it was a strong cigarette smell. We told the reception but all night it was coming into the room.

Palm cafe
Everything else. It was awful, the view from our room was of a slum building where people were living. Only one socket for kettle, charging hones etc. The shower barely worked and couldn't get it any hotter than tepid I didnt report it as we were only there a night. The room was dark, depressing and shabby with no safe which in our details said it would have.

Breakfast was adequate but not great for a vegetarian. Lots of fried foods, sausages, noodles, eggs, but nothing fresh except some watermelon. The room was comfortable and spacious! Bathtub didn't close all the way so we had to keep filling it, but it was nice to have one. TV lacked any good English channels. A/C was great. View was good. Staff was nice. They kept our luggage for two days while we went to the jungle, which was above expectations. Cleaning staff was excellent. The entire hotel was updated in the 80/90s and has been updated since, but don't let that dissuade you from the services and good location.

It's clean, comfy and close to the shop and restaurant area. Room was spacious. Breakfast had nice options.
They charged me for one extra towel. The place is a bit dated.

Guests were required to validate their room card on a daily basis. On one occasion, the Front Desk Reception asked us to leave our room card with him which he just put on the reception's table. Also when we checked in, my family were required to register their nric for the room even though it was under my name. Is this a new regulation? And it seems that when we asked for additional sugar sachets, we were informed that we have to pay for whole set of sugar, creamer, nescafe and tea. When we mentioned we just needed 4 sugar sachets (which they delivered) and then still charged us RM4 during checkout. We have to try and get our own parking space which were limited. It didn't help when the parking security practically yelled rudely at us when we parked at a wrong spot....which we removed immediately. This is a service industry...please respect your guests.
But our gratitude to the housekeeping team who were always fast in responding.
