Perfect for a stopover on the way to Deadvlei. Clean rooms, decent WiFi, excellent shower and friendly staff.

Les chambre sont impeccables.
Le personnel était à l'écoute et très sympathique.
Des repas de qualité même si l'attente était un peu longue, sauf pour le buffet...
Rien à signaler d'important.

Best place in the middle of nowhere. Great dinner and bakery !

Great stay with excellent facilities! Awesome sunset views over the desert.
- Seating and swimming pool outside, perfect for enjoying a beer before the braai
- Feels like a mini village - petrol station, convenience store (with limited food + souvenirs), and a bakery. Reception/foyer for breakfast also available.
- Facilities for the braai are in the campsite, so make sure to ask for a space upon checkin
- Plenty of parking
- 5 min away from game drive (cheetahs) that departs from the lodge facilities (highly recommend)
- chocolate chip cookies and muffins from the bakery are super
- bathroom is spacious with open shower (good water pressure!) and a view of the desert (from window)
- AC in each chalet
- beds are comfortable with plenty of extra blankets and pillows
Be sure to ask the staff if the braai facility in the campsite are open, otherwise it might be difficult to organise dinner.
Rooms are a bit sparsely decorated

Unique and authentic desert lodge with extremely pleasant, helpful staff and good food prepared especially for you

it was a wonderful place, a little oasis in the middle of nowhere. the lodge has a wonderful garden and a swimmingpool. the sunset is stunning & you can see mangoose and squirrels in the front of the bakery. Coffee and cake was delicious. we also had Dinner and it was really really delicious. we would have loved to stay longer. there is also a cheetah sanctuary around. so it will definitely not get boring. really friendly staff and the place was super clean. the rooms are more beautiful as it seems on the pictures. we also had a terrace and the bathroom was really nice. AND had a door. thats not so often in Namibia.
absolutely nothing

Solitaire is a fascinating place. Although we've stopped in there every time we visit Namibia, we've never actually overnighted there. A good experience. The Lodge gardens etc are beautiful, and the staff looked after us well. Thank you.
Shower floor terribly slippery. Would suggest this be looked at.

Almost nothing
Extremely overpriced. Food was poor (dinner was okay, but breakfast was actually revolting). They charged us almost R1000 for a basic dinner and 2 cokes, on top of the expensive accommodation which is sub standard to say the least. The restaurant menu is a waste of time because they don’t have stock of anything - ‘the truck is still on its way m’am’ is what they told me! I will drive right past Solitaire next time.

Very pleasant staff, possibility to recharge on your journey through Namibia. A real oasis of peace and calm which allows you to relax. Petrol station, shop, restaurant, bakery, café, pool, everything you can dream of at the desert. And everything was clean and comfortable.

Pool and size of rooms with aircon.
No fridge!!!. Many small black bugs crawling on the floor and against the wall !

Nice spacious and spotless bedroom and bathroom, lovely garden
Superior quality duvets, but too hot in summer, provide top sheets also; breakfast not up to standard; rather pricy in comparison to other similar accommodation in the area
10.0
The location, which enables to make a stop beetween Sesriem and Swakopmund. And the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere, specially at the end and the begining of the day (during the day, a lot - lot ! - of people make a stop at the restaurant of the lodge to taste the "famous" apple-pie...).
I am probably a little bit too demanding but I have found the apple-pie good but not as extraordinary as its reputation. And due to this pie (and also the location of the lodge), there are many many people who make a stop and so it could be very noisy and busy during the day.
