location suited our purpose
Room was dated shabby and dirty. Complained to management, Pointed out these issues on site. wardrobe did not exist just a hanging rail. Windows in Bedroom did not open. In order to get air into the bedroom we had to leave bathroom door open, but ventilation was very poor.

Close to work
Really awful will not be returning
It's such a shame. I spend 4 nights a month locally, but after one of the worst hotels I have stayed at in 25 years, I will definitely never stay here again.

Lovely stay. Very clean and helpful staff.
Slight problem with water pressure

The room was finished nicely. The pillows and quilt were good quality and the facilities in the room were fine.
The room smelt. At first I thought it was a fishy smell but the smell was coming from the bathroom so I’m guessing possibly a drainage smell coming from the sink or shower. Also the towel rail in the bathroom wasn’t on and I couldn’t see how to turn it on. The left hand window handle was slightly stiff so couldn’t close window fully enough to stop draft.

The staff were friendly and the room was clean
I was surprised that the breakfast wasn’t included in the price of the room as it wasn’t the cheapest. So we paid extra in the morning for our breakfast which wasn’t great…on the menu our meals were meant to come with sourdough toast but we got cheap white bread on the side. Also no tomatoes and my partners sausages were incinerated. Had this been included in the price of the room I wouldn’t have been that bothered but as we had to pay an extra £20 I wanted to share this

It would have been nice to have some fruit after breakfast
4.1
nice bathroom, big comfy bed, large room and plenty of parking.
check in shuts at 11 ( I was chief vet at Aintree races and we had a fatality in the final race at 8.50 so even though I’d messaged them to let them know I’d be a late arrival I got a voicemail while I was dealing with the poor horse to say if I didn’t hurry up I wouldn’t be able to check in. Then at 11 the lift is turned off so you can’t go back downstairs. Complete fire hazard as your key fob lets you put down some stairs to to the car park but if you lock yourself out of your room leaving this fob in there you’re stuck basically. I was also promised “Pete” would be around as I would be checking out early to provide me with an invoice. NOPE he was not. In the end I had to just leave my key in my lock and go, so will now have tho email for one as it wasn’t cheap. Also NO food or drink available to purchase after 10. So biscuits and squash for supper…..in a Miller & Carter!!! WILL NEVER STAY AGAIN.

Probably the Best breakfast ever. Steak, smoked salmon smashed avocado as well as the usual.
The dinner menu did wonderful steak, scallops, and salads. The dripping gravy was the best. The dirty burger topped with steak tails/pieces also best I had. Guinness v good. The food is worth travelling for. Staff v personable and helpful.

Good
Being 68 yrs each no one helped us with bag 20 klg going up stairs, which was difficult. Cost of beer very expensive. When restaurant full of patrons no where for us staying there to have a drink in bar. People staying there are secondary to people having meals.
4.1
location and price booked it about 3 hrs before arrival. Bed and shower good. Cleanliness good too.
-Nice steak in the evening with friends.
-could not speak to anyone when no I called the property contact number.
-check in desk was not attended and had been moved to the bar area.
-Breakfast finished at 0930hrs and we were not offered anything when we went down at that time. No other residents were their eating either?
-The Hotel Accom side of the business seemed a bit disconnected from the Miller and Carter Restaurant side of things?

Large room on first floor with lift from ground floor. Comfortable bed. Ample parking space. Busy Innkeeper Steak House. Large portions of food, very well cooked (except final morning of 5 when chef didnt turn up for work)
Except last morning, no choice of fruit for breakfast. But ample supplies of coffee and juices.

we choose the hotel for location and this was spot on , staff very friendly and helpful
in the bar area empty glasses left on the tables and not cleared away did not feel welcoming
4.1
the room was very spacious and the telephone call prior ro arival ensured the room was set up to our preference
the lighting is very poor in the room - especially if you are trying to apply your make up!!

I can’t comment on the breakfast as we didn’t take it. The rooms were warm and clean and nicely decorated. Exceptional staff who went above and beyond the call of duty.
Trying the get a taxi from here; even though one had been booked it never turned up, which made us late for a dinner reservation… but this is outside of your control… after waiting over thirty minutes for the taxi to turn up a member of your staff kindly went out of her way to drop us off. Like I said; above and beyond the call of duty.

It was warm unlike some hotels
Toilet in room 5 has a reoccuring flush issue where the waste comes back up. We noticed this on previous visit as well.
4.1
No room service no phone in room if you want drinks or food to room tea coffee in room but after hours you can’t get anything off bar or cold drinks to room no fridge in room either
4.1
Room was excellent, v spacious, large bathroom and lovely view
Think cContintal breakfast should be still included considering cost of stay per night

nothing
bedroom - toilet filthy, room freezing cold (windows were wide open) Refused to stay in that room. Moved to second room couldn’t sleep - radiator banging and clanging continually. Had to get up and dress to go in search of a night manager. Night manager said it was known there was a plumbing problem. Finally, in middle of night, after moving to third room, managed to get a few hours sleep.
4.1
great location for us. clean rooms, great food and staff were exceptional.
Nothing.
