A hidden gem

Beautifully clean, renovated units. A bit of a surprise packet really, as from the outside it just looks like an older ordinary complex. Was a 2 minute walk to Transport World (our reason for staying in Invercargill). The owner also suggested an exceptionally good Asian fusion restaurant for dinner…Mama San.

Good value

Very friendly helpful staff. Great size unit had everything and more we needed. Proper milk in the fridge.

For us not a problem but quite a walk to any facilities. Little basic in terms of decor and ensuite but it all worked and for the price, you couldn't expect much more.

Great accommodation with amazing hosts.

As a family of four with two teenagers, having the 3 bedrooms was a real luxury and the kids loved it! The apartment was well laid out, large, spacious and contained all the creature comforts you could wish for. Loved the make up remover wipes in the bathroom! Having the free laundry room was an added bonus after travelling around a lot. A special thanks goes out to Paul who went above and beyond the call of duty to return a coat to us within 24 hours!

There was nothing we didn’t like. The place was great!

Extremely friendly staff, very welcoming and perfect location. Had all the facilities we needed for a couple travelling around New Zealand. Extremely clean and comfortable also! Couldn’t recommend this place anymore! Would definitely come back here

This was a perfect place to stay for a family. The unit was clean and spacious and super warm. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed to cook our meals. The unit was very quiet, no road noise or noise from other guests. The hosts were friendly and welcoming

This property was exceptionally clean and quiet the bed was sooo comfortable and great water pressure in the shower large towels too wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it Will definitely stay here next time we’re in Invercargill

Great for our 3 night visit

Very comfortable bed & great shower pressure. Microwave was set to correct time, heater was on when we arrived, very welcoming & helpful hosts. Unit was well away from SH1 just outside, so was very quiet, ample parking. Good sized cups, glasses, plates. Great to have a stool to sit on in the shower.

Because it was an accessible unit very limited storage space in bathroom for all our toiletries (just the vanity top). Had a draining tray but would have been good to have a dish rack as well. Could have done with shower gel dispenser in the shower, & as it was an accessible unit some grab handles in the shower & toilet area.

Room was nice and clean. Bed was very comfortable. It had everything we needed for our stay.

There appears to be a condensation issue in the room. There was a portable dehumidifier running (this did not cause us any issues) and they had instructions in the bathroom on how to avoid adding to the humidity when showering (which we dutifully followed). However, in the morning, all windows had a lot of condensation on them. We were not bothered by this, but mentioning it in case others would be

This was our second stay at this property during our 15 day visit to Southland. The units were clean, warm and comfortable, suited our requirements, and, were close to local shopping and dining out facilities, Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Thanks

Clean and tidy large unit. I would stay there again.

Bed was comfortable, bathroom was large and clean and the staff were very friendly. Located on a main road with a recreation ground behind but not noisy at all. Nice having somewhere outside to sit on a sunny day.

Nothing about the motel not to like as far as I'm concerned but if you don't have transport you may feel a little too far away from the town centre.

A relaxing stay, and Moana Court provided an excellent base for our trip.

very welcoming hosts and they accomodate the 3rd member of our family, our 12 year old Spoodle so well., no hassles.

Very poor

Unfortunately, I cannot join the long list of positive reviews. I booked a studio for three nights at the 554 Moana Court Motel. I thought wow, 9.5 score and the room description read "Garden view", what could go wrong? When I arrived in mid-January 2023, I was given room No 1, the room right at the street front (in the motel picture the one-story annex by the motel sign). When I asked if I could have a room to the back (garden view, not street front !!!), the motel said no, because this is the room they offered on booking.com. After staying for five minutes, I knew I would not be able to sleep in this room, the street noise was too unnerving. After I finally found a new place, I came back to the motel. It was only then they revealed that they had in fact four studios but insisted that room No 1 was assigned to me by booking.com. I have never been assigned a specific room by booking.com, only ever a room category. Why the motel didn’t want to give me another studio (or upgrade me for that matter), I don’t know (I asked nicely). What I did learn though is that room descriptions can’t always be trusted.
