Sugar Beach and our beach ‘shack’ was a 5 night stay of PERFECT!

Sugar Beach Club - our little slice of Costa Rica in Türkiye - was fantastic for a 5 night stay from 30 September to 5 October 2023! (somehow my review did not post in a timely manner so now in December 2023, it’s a bit late) My husband and I stayed in Sugar Beach Club bungalow # A4. It was clean, comfortable, cozy and so quiet! The bed was very nice. The room was equipped with everything (including a refrigerator) you need to make your stay an enjoyable one. The price was such a good value! What a deal. Wow. And thankfully, the location was amazing, away from the overly busy ‘Las Vegas’ style Ölüdeniz Beach town. Easy walk to/from town which we did daily and easy access to hike up over the mountain to the abandoned village of Kayaköy along with parts of the Lycian Way trek (highly recommended!!). On arrival, we were greeted by the nicest young man at the front desk and made to feel so welcomed with how friendly he was to us. Sadly I didn’t get his name but he was great whenever we needed anything over our entire 5 night stay. He and his staff have everything dialed in. We loved our little ‘beach hut’. The porch was lovely to sit outside and read while listening to the sounds of nature. And of course, we are crazy cat people so armed with our bags of cat food, we loved our visitors to our patio. We definitely enjoyed the most AMAZING breakfast (included in the stay) each morning. We spent over a month in Türkiye which most of our stays included a breakfast but this one was top notch! Something for everyone. And prepared by a great kitchen staff that work so hard to satisfy their guests. The menu was fresh, tasty, large and varied with something for everyone, even vegetarians. It’s astonishing to think this is included. The restaurant is managed by such an incredible man, Dincer. He and his staff really care about you, the guests. He was there each morning and greeted us like long lost family! Of course always with a big smile.

Not a property issue but a group of humans!!! Only negative is a huge influx of rude day trippers that bus in from ‘somewhere’ and are extremely loud, arrogant and seem to disrespect the hard working Sugar Beach staff and environment. But that’s a pet-peeve of mine that I hate to see happen to ‘local’ staff.

Was nice, but we won't return to there.

was a great design for a bungalow park

the bungalow prices were too high for what we got. The food selection was not great, it also didn't taste outstanding. We slept bad both nights because of the small and short beds. The service is slow and definitely could have been better.

One with nature, not in a good way!

Being on the blue lagoon is a bonus, I can leave my hut and walk to the water. However the beach is divided with other hotels. Restaurant was close too. They placed nice flowers on bed for honeymoon.

Loud music playing until 1-2 am, holiday turned from a relaxing peaceful resort to Ibiza club vibes at night. Your surrounded by bugs and flies, we identified 20 bugs in our room one morning they were mainly earwigs.

Overpriced for location

Toilet did not work. No hot water. The beach in the listing is not the same as the beach at the site. At the deepest ping the water is about a meter deep, pretty shallow for swimming and water sports.

Quiet, nice, safe, friendly and delicious

This is a good quiet place with a nice territory and a great bar on the own beach. Delicious breakfast included, but dinner is also great and not expensive at all. Staff is very friendly!

You'd probably have to walk 10-15 minutes to the blue lagoon or the main beach area, if you would like to enjoy the sea.

Superb

Calm shallow bay. Ideal for couples with babies. Perfect lawn to relax in the evening. We liked the restaurant a lot. Huge portions. I recommend steak.

Although it is located in the Blue Lagoon, the colour of water is not that blue as it was promised. However the water is clear and transparent. It is 800 m walk to the all the activities at the quay. Our friends saw wild boars once. Beware.

it was a very nice stay but the property could do with some TLC

the location was lovely the staff were great. the watersport equipment hire was very economical to hire

the noise from the wedding at the property and at the neighbouring hotels. there were three noisy weddings in the week and the one on sight being the noisiest with no warning. there was also no bed side lights in any of the bedrooms when you’re staying with children it would be nice to be able to read in bed while they sleep. the staff were lovely but didn’t understand a lot of English so made mistakes with food and/or a lot of orders were incorrect. they could also do with water filters so not so much single use plastic.

loved them . only negative is music from surrounding hotels can disturb and if you have noisy next door neighbours with windows open but otherwise very peaceful

Exceptional

Very clean, spacious and comfortable bungalows right outside of the center of Ölüdeniz - which was perfect, as it's not as crowded, but still within walking distance of the center. Super friendly staff and great breakfast. We were there off season, and can only recommend!

A little corner of Paradise 🏝️

Sugar Beach Club is like a little corner of paradise. The beach and water is amazing and to be able to step out of your room each morning and straight onto a sun lounger is bliss. The staff couldn't be more helpful and are very attentive, they even get to know you by name and what you like. The food and drink served at the club has a great variety and good prices. The huts are fab with everything you could need. It's only a 10 min walk along to the strip in Oludeniz so you have all you need on your doorstep. I would go back in a heartbeat.

The only thing I could comment is that the huts aren't very soundproof so you can hear people talking as they the walk past, or if they are sat on the porch of their own hut but other than this the club is great

Great stay in a fabulous location

Fabulous location, food is excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. The Turkish breakfast (Kahvaltı) is plentiful and beautifully presented, varied and fresh.

would be nice if a kettle and cups were included in the cabins along with some glasses for cold drinks.

A fabulous stay on a beautiful lagoon.

Wonderful breakfast with fab views over the beautiful blue lagoon. Great little bungalow with good Wi-Fi connection, great AC, hairdryer and room safe.

There could be a few fans in the dinning area and reception. It was very hot and a fan or two would really help.

2 Nights in Oludeniz

Quiet'ish not too far from central beach front (10 minute walk). Beach service Room has AC Most staff were attentive and polite

Not enough info to hand on do's and dont's. For example you're not supposed to swim to other side of lagoon (Kumburnu area). You can't rent a canoe and just take it over and get off. From Kumburnu to get back to Sugar Beach you have to walk or pay someone 200tl to kayak you over which is faster and cooler than walking. Overall, just more info on dos and donts would be good as a pamflet to new visitors also apparently you're not supposed to use video on Kumburnu which I didnt see any notices about. No cycle hire. I would have hired a cycle for sure if they were available.

A fantastic place to stay, on the outskirts of a very busy little town.

We last visited this location 30 years ago when it was a campsite and had super-fond memories of our time then, so this was a special trip. It did not fail to meet our expectations, being a setting that has maintained sympathy with the environment, as well as a relaxed, super friendly atmosphere. The staff could not have done more to please us and the food was excellent. We were even accommodated for a meal during a wedding.

The cabins were very clean and had everything we needed, apart from bedside lamps.
