Location and affordable
Quite loud

Nothing
The elevator was broken and the stuff didn’t tell us. We had to lug our luggage up two flights of stairs. Staff gave me the wrong number room and had to go good back down stairs to ask for the correct number. The booking doesn’t have hostel in the name so it was unclear and misleading that it was a hostel. Could not even stay. Total wast of money.

I‘ve stayed in a few different hostels in Auckland but the Haka House is the best. It‘s modern, clean and in a central location. The facilities are new, the rooms have lockers and there’s a power outlet for each bed and inside the locker. Spacious kitchen and lounge room. The staff is very nice. Would definitely come back.

One of the best hostels I have stayed in during my 7 month travel. Clean. Beds are comfy and have curtains, big lockers. Haka hostels have chef's kirchens. Extrmely spacious and equipped with everything you can imagine. Central location. Perfection
I wish towels were available. During meal times, kitchen gets crowded but that is understandable

The Staff was super Lovely, like a Family Environment.

The kitchen and amenities were amazing, super friendly staff and very easy to connect. Beds are comfortable and have nice curtains, the rooms and hostel in general have a calm and nice vibe.
Lift is broken, but the stairs are not too bad

I think the room was actually nicer than the photos on the website, so i was pleasantly surprised, the bathroom was nice, the parking was handy and the girl on the front desk was lovely and helpful.
Mum had trouble sleeping because of the noise outside, this was nothing to do with the accomodation though, just not used to so much street noise from a big city on a Saturday night, i slept well.

The bed was fantastic so comfortable. We are not backpackers and usually stay in hotels. This YHA has one of the best beds we've ever slept in.
Great location. Quiet and easy access to Queen Street and K road.
Nothing it was all good.

felt like a hostel for grown ups - nice, with no party vibe, but shared facilities and spaces
bathrooms close to the rooms
the bathroom near our room could
have done with a mirror and/or small shelf

Prisvärd och Läget var bra.
Inte så välstädad i rummet och vi hade fönstret öppet pga av värmen så vi hade myggor i rummet så blev biten på flera ställen.

Clean and tidy bunkbed
The place was overall unkempt and needed a thorough cleaning. The bathrooms and toilets were moldy with little ventilation. The dorms had bad ventilation as well and had food and other rubbish on the floor.

Nothing
Everything I paid a price for pap place that was undergoing complete renovations.
The rooms were way to small
4.1
The rooms themselves had proper wooden bunk beds rather than metal ones like other hostels, meaning they weren’t as squeaky and they were actually comfortable with plenty of storage space and lockers.
Did feel like a construction site when I was walking round with builders, signs and equipment everywhere. The lounge area and kitchen also felt a bit hostile to relax in and I felt quite stressed whilst there.

Location
It was super dirty. The toilets were disgusting and the kitchen was full of dirty dishes/utensils in the morning after sleeping. It seemed no one cared for washing their own kitchen utensils.

Location is good. Some stuff are so nice specially housekeepers and the girls who checked me in.
It is cold all the time ! There is no heaters at the room and even at the main area and you are cold all the time ! I was wearing my winter coat almost all the time. And at the reception 2 guys are so rude, the guy didnt want to solve my problem at reception(I supposed to take a refund and he didnt make refund transaction!) Thankfully I asked after a while to the other guy and he said that "he was so hangover to solve your problem" what ?! Why he is there then ! And you can clearly see that that 2 guys only nice to girls ! They say "hi, how are u" to girls all the time and they ignore you if you are a man(it is so strange comment I know but first time I saw and felt something like this! Crazy!) 2 guys at reception, u are not at reception there for find a girl. It is so unprofessional and unethical for "YHA" brand.

everything was very dirty.
the bathroom and kitchen horrible.
It disgusted me a lot.
my room very dirty and smelly.
It looked like an abandoned hostel. I do not recommend it and I would never go back there.

We have our own plugs on our bed
The toilets are very smelly and the shower is very dirty

Location is good near by city centre, quiet hostel not so many people and it was clean and quiet over night
Mould in shower

spacious place
I was waiting an hour to check in. I had to go into the office so that the manager who was hiding would inform me what was in her break. He heard us ring the bell and he did not want to tell us that he would take an hour break

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room size just right for the couple of days there. Though the room was small there was lots of storage for bags under the bed. I had 1 large bag, 2 carry-on cases and backpack and a booster seat. Very central and getting to places we had planned to go was really handy, to bus stop and central Queen Street. Good restaurants around the corner.
Lovely environment if you want to get to know people but not an environment for young children. Shared bathroom needs touch up and good clean not very good smell. Key card system needs upgrading key card would erase if too close to my phone.

The place is close to the downtown core of Auckland and within reasonable walking distance to the bus station where you can get NZ buses as well as airport shuttle.
this is a huge hostel. Although I wasn’t very sociable during my stay there, I got the impression that many guests were temporary or permanent guest, perhaps students or temporary workers or persons looking for work. I only mention this because it creates a different kind of ambience in the facility. Don’t expect to get info about North Island tours or even basic tourist information here. The kitchens were VERY well used and thankfully large. But there was a shortage of plates and cutlery. It looked to me that clean-up is 100% dependent on guests cleaning up after themselves—the kitchen is FULL of signage urging diners to do so—but sufficient dish towels and SOME staff back up is needed in a facility this large. perhsps that exists and I just didn’t see it, but the place wasn’t the cleanest. Also, it’s not on the nicest street and whether it’s trash from the hostel or a neighbouring building, the area adjacent to the front entrance was a mess of tipped over trash cans and scavenging birds.

Didn't know there was a breakfast

Location in the city center.
The reception staff (espacially one girl from France) were very rude and made you feel uncomfortable and like your were an inconvenience to them.
Hostel was dirty, the bathrooms were smelly and regularly out of toilet paper. The kitchen equipment wasnt the best either and not clean at all.
Not worth the money.

Location
The air conditioning was not working (was closed off) , on a hot day and in a room with no real windows. The room and bath size were tiny for the price we paid and in comparison with alternatives. There were hairs in the bedding and in the bath. 2 old towels were lying in the bath, new ones at the bed were ok. The toilett flush was more or less working. The lobby was closed early and opened late. We talked to the receiptionist and a manager (both friendly people) and placed a request for refund and an optional cancellation for the second night. They noted my phone number and my email, but we did not get any response. Research revealed that the feedback/ current score of the YHA is a result of the operation before close due to covid. Recent scores are bad. And that's missleading customers which should be quickly resolved by the YHA and booking.com.

Nothing.
I don't recommend it. It was so dirty, I couldn't open the windows of the bedroom and there wasn't an air conditioner or fan. Also, the stuff wasn't nice.
