A beautiful building with an interesting history. Nicely located right on the coastline, and a short, easy 5min walk to the restaurants. Our room had a palatial bathroom and access to a charming patio area. Very nice and knowledgeable owners.

Unique old hotel
Very easy to hear guests in neighbouring room. And an outdoor light came on and off on the roof and our room had a skylight window in the ceiling and I was awakened again and again from a light coming on and off from above which I had no influence over.

amazing owner that was unbelievably helpful going out of his way so I could continue my training for an upcoming Ironman.
such a long drive from Auckland!

The warm welcome from the Owners Jennifer and Justin - the history of the hotel and the original features - the layout of our little suite of rooms and the balcony overlooking the water, ideal for an early evening drink - the location of the hotel in relation to Mangonui Village - and the picnic our hosts prepared for us for our day exploring Cape Reinga.
Nothing comes to mind ......

Unlucky with a loud snorer next door with poor sound proofing that comes with an older property

It’s a beautiful old boutique property with tastefully decorated, comfortable rooms. All rooms have an outdoor sitting area. Jen and Justin are so helpful and welcoming. They pay attention to the detail to make your stay here the best it can be.
Everything was perfect! I highly recommend and look forward to returning.

Loved the location, the historic nature of the place and the verandah outside our room with a garden and waterfront aspect. Lovely decor.
Due to the age of the property noise carries.

Clean fresh crisp sheets on the bed. Really.
Very cute, very convenient and great hosts with lots of friendly info on the area.
The host even provided us with a cool bin to keep our food and drink fresh for our trip to Cape Reinga.
Genuinely good.

Beautifully modernised, luxurious historic place, great location, friendly & informative owners.
The extremely loud snoring of my companion in the too near, adjacent bed

Every night we came back and the room was nice and warm the light was on and the bed was all set for us to drop into.
They could have taken our money, to pay for our stay, But like Jenn said they didn't have an efpos machine, and said what I was quoted i would pay.
