Location is super good for restaurants
I was expecting to have BG4 signage on the building or entrance but there was not.
I ended up asking local person. After asking where this address is. He googled it and point out the building in front of us standing

Die Lage war sehr gut und der Fernseher.
Kein Frühstück, Küche viel zu klein und unzureichend ausgestattet. Kein Schneidebrsteck, kein Abfalleimer in der „Küche“. Badezimmer roch unangenehm. Aussenanlage ungepflegt. Von aussen kein Hinweis auf BG4 Guesthaus sondern Hrafninn Guesthouse. Der Anbieter sollte sich mal entscheiden. Für Übernachtungen kann ich nur abraten!

The location is perfect to access local town. Very comfortable bed. Toilet/Bathrooms of very good standard but, need more attention on cleaning. No need of Check-in is an excellent concept. They have electronic pin lock on each door. 12 hours before Check-in time you receive Pin number and you have access straight away.
The décor through stairs has strong gothic influence. That is not my taste and that disappointed me.

Better ventilation from bathroom. Someone to welcome us to the facilities

The hike to the third floor with luggage, the lack of communication with the staff

The location was great and parking on the weekend was free. Cleaning staff was friendly.
When we arrived there was no hot water to take a shower, but that was soon fixed. We paid a higher rate to include breakfast, but ended up going out to a restaurant instead once we looked at their disappointing offerings. There was no fruit left when we woke up, not much space to eat, and we were uncertain how fresh the food was, for example the honey was hard and old. I would recommend skipping breakfast at this location if you stay here.

The location and the cleaning were wonderful.
Unfortunately, 3 issues did affect my opinion, otherwise it should be much more positive. We arrived after 14 o'clock and no room was ready for us. The guy that was working there, probably a carpenter, was very nice, but not the receptionist. He has told us that we were supposed to receive a code on our phone, that has arrived after less than an hour. We had coffee and then were able to enter our room.
Our room was very nice, kind of typical Icelandic, and a nice bathroom. The only thing is that the shower was not standing on the wall, so it was not so comfortable.
Last thing, it is the acoustic isolation: at 5.30 I woke up cause of the strong noise coming from a near room where they were having sex.
As I have said, my overall considerations were supposed to be much more positive if these events were not there. Hopefully the manager will consider my opinion to improve somehow the guesthouse, because everything else is just very nice.

The location was fantastic, close to all the cool things and still quiet and homey. the room was comfortable and big for a double. I would recommend anyone visiting to stay here, we loved it.

location was absolutely perfect to spend a few days in Akureyri. Right along the main strip, close to everything you could want. Room was big, comfortable, and felt luxurious. Huge windows were a great bonus with curtains that provide a good level of darkness for sleep. The bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast is lovely - yogurts, oatmeal, toast, etc. coffee was delicious.
Plugs in the room were in inconvenient spots.
you do need to have internet or an Icelandic phone number to receive your room number and passcode - there is no reception on site.

Fantastic guesthouse and room. Good decoration. Very nicely equipped kitchen. Near the town center.
The guesthouse does not have free parking(it is mentioned) but if you search online, there is a map of akureyri's free parking spots, and one of them is 2 minutes walk from the house.

This was a really cool artsy hotel in the dead center of Akureyi. We never saw a staff member, we let ourselves in, which was fine. Parking was a little difficult and unclear, but that was the towns issue. Only complaint was that the wifi password they provided was incorrect and I had to call for the right one. Overall though it was a nice place and good value for the price.

the location
the house is very old and everything is heard .. people coming out of their rooms very early in the morning can not avoid making a lot of noise .. it is 3 stories and no one helps you w suitcase. definitely not for someone w mobility issues

The room had a lovely style and spacious considering the price I paid! The bathroom was big and modern the shower very comfortable (big head and good pressure). I would stay here again without a doubt!
Cannot think of anything that I didn't like, a small fridge in the room would be handy, but I wasn't expecting that for what I paid either. There are shared kitchen facilities on the ground floor and as I was staying in early April the weather was cold enough to store my small amount of food out on the "balcony" (seemed to be part of fire escape stairs).

Very central, clean and characterful rooms, comfortable beds
- Did not get rooms we booked ie. booked double and two twin rooms but got 3 twin rooms despite booking a while back
- one of the electric orthopaedic beds got stuck in wrong position, requested staff to send someone to mend it who didn’t come so my son had to sleep at funny angle all night
- small area outside bedrooms filled with dining table and chairs and people eating own food, so had to squeeze past them to get in and out of room
- woke up to smell of garlic and food from people eating cooked breakfast just outside the room - felt like a hostel rather than an expensive guesthouse
- poor arrival instructions - directions/address to unused front entrance, whereas entrance to rooms actually on street behind the building where parking was
- poor parking instructions- received parking fine within 30 mins of arrival for parking by front unused entrance of guesthouse (not familiar with Icelandic No Parking sign). No warning or help from hotel.
