It's a few decades old but absolutely immaculate. Both of us agreed that the bed was literally the most comfortable bed we've slept in. The staff were lovely and attentive. The facilities were fantastica! The garden in the hotel's courtyard is really beautiful and has a sense of magic to it.
Nothing - I would stay again next time I visit and strongly recommend this gem of a hotel.

兎に角安定した雰囲気。
忙しい時間帯はフロントが通じない。(仕方ないとも思いますが可能でしたら改善ご検討いただければと存じます)

The hotel is luxurious. Beautiful and sumptuous interior design. Friendly, helpful staff. The setting in the gardens and the sky mist displays are exceptional. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with great views.
The location is perfect if you want to get away from the business of Tokyo. The flip side is that you need to take transport to the main attractions. The recommendation from the hotel that you should make a reservation in their restaurants for meals should be taken seriously as tables were not available in my prefered restaurants on the day.

Excellent hotel, very nice large bedroom, very clean, good views.
Nice gardens. Good gym.
Swimming pool usage not included in my booking, extra fee required to use it.
It’s a long walk from the train station.

Some of the facilities were closed including the bar

Hotel was beautiful, staff so lovely, facilities exceptional.
It was a bit of a mission to get places on public transport, the nearest lines weren't very well connected and pretty far away.

The hotel is wonderful, staffs are very friendly and polite. The garden is a big bonus! Our kids really enjoyed walking around the garden and watching the fireflies. Restaurants are all exceptional.

Beautiful Surroundings. Exquisite decor. Top notch service.
Security didn’t allow exit from more than one direction.

huge rooms, lovely staff, beautiful hotel and garden, comfortable bed, good towels, beautiful garden, great city view
while close to a subway it was a bit far away from bars and restaurants and on site dining was very expensive

my stay was incredible! I have fallen in love with Hotel Chinzanso…the hotel and the gardens are magnificent, it’s very clean and the hotel staff is so lovely
the hotel is a bit further away from the mayor hubs of the city, but the hotel is so wonderful that it doesn’t really matter

The hotel facilities and services are wonderful, and the general ambience of this hotel is fabulous. The staff are so helpful and welcoming.
The gardens are serene and an absolute must to wander through.
Loved our stay here will definitely be back.

Friendly staff and gardens.
We put a no cleaning sign on the door and usually the towels are changed, rubbish removed and the beds made anyway but this did not happen. Also an enexpected 400 yen per day surcharge on checkout.
4.6
Excellent service, the staff were very helpful and attention to details.
The hotel view is extraordinary.
4.6
Room, garden was amazing! Staff very helpful, spa was great.
The contintental breakfast, especially the bacon and sausage, could be way better. French toast was great.
4.6
The toiletries were very nice, a selection of l’occitane products and a welcome baumkuchen in the room.
The clouds show was unsafe for a pregnant women, it is very slippery and is required to cross it to reach the restaurants making it very unsafe to dine in heels.
The reception staff was very inattentive , they failed on giving a proper explanation of the hotel and the available amenities and the breakfast. Breakfast. Was so complicated! 3 restaurants to choose from each with 1 menu, or breakfast in the room, they failed to mention the are extra charges to the “included breakfast” , they ignored the emails we sent in advance to prepare for our stay, but they were very prompt on highlighting all the things that weren’t included with our deluxe suit and would be on extra charge. It really felt very unwelcoming.

This is a very large hotel which reminded me of the Steigenberger chain in Europe. It is very comfortable and I thought the staff were exceptional. There is a pervading desire to 'help' and make sure you are feeling 'looked after'. The rooms were spacious and beds 10/10 for comfort. Our room had a separate WC which we always appreciate. The Japanese Garden is a delight to walk around outside and we loved the fact that the hotel is away from the crowd/noise in its own considerable space. The closest Metro station is about 10 mins walk although we found it convenient to often get a taxi to the metro and they were always in plentiful supply and not expensive - ca Yen1000. This is one of those hotels that manages to feel smaller than it's raison d'être - ie to host large events. Maybe that is because the conference space is clearly removed from the hotel rooms.
There were three sources of disappointment. 1) As someone reserving via Booking.com we were not allowed complimentary access to the pool. Whilst I empathise that hotels need an incentive to get guest booking directly and apparently this restriction was in the small print, I would have appreciated if both the hotel and Booking.com had made this clearer. We did search for hotels with pools in Tokyo. The charge to use it is expensive at Y4000 per person. 2) The breakfast was not as good as we would have liked and expensive. That said the dining room and the levels of service were top notch. 3) Whilst we enjoyed one evening in the bar - it does close v early at 10.30 and it is rather austere and old world. It is not a place the young feel comfortable in.

Opulence from the entrance. Very helpful staff, who spoke English at a good level. Very nice room with a great view of the spectacular garden. Delicious food both restaurant and room service.

The place is very high class and comfy.
We felt like vip in our stay.
I highly recommend that
They didn't serve special tea and sweet in our room.
Restaurants were extremely expensive and for small quantity
