A beautiful resort style location. The food at the resort was lovely, and the buffet breakfast was amazing. All the staff are friendly, helpful, and happy for a chat.
Had booked 2 rooms with small lagoon access. Unfortunately, we had access to separate lagoons, and the only way of meeting up was getting out of the water and walking to the other couple. Would have been nice to be in the same lagoon location.
Some areas in the rooms are starting to show their age and the toilet seat kept moving to one side. Our room had shower over a large spa bath. Our daughter had a very large shower in hers. I feel showers in baths are not only dated but also pose safety issues stepping in and out. It's best to pull it out and replace it with a shower.

Our allocated room was damp and musty and once advised, we were immediately moved and accommodated elsewhere. Great service. The food at Harrison's also gets a mentioned...brilliant.
The cost of a pool side cabana for a guest at $175 for the day is outrageous. Our waiter at Harrison's rushed us.

The rooms were big and spacious, great for families. The pool was excellent, our boys loved it and we spent each day swimming. The buffet breakfast was also good, with a solid spread of options. Ladda our housekeeper was also excellent.
It was quite expensive overall, the in house dining was also expensive and not good value for $. We had some poor customer service experiences at The Deck and each time we inquired when experiencing long wait times for food or service for in-room dining or at the restaurants themselves, we were met with a 'it's just really busy.' - There were clearly some staffing issues.

we had an excellent stay here. the room was spacious and clean and our little toddler love playing by the pools with other kids. We felt relaxed after our week stay and definitely will be back for another break
the hotel is a little outdated but otherwise super comfortable to stay. The reception and main building need to be updated and more lougey, felt a little cold and lack of ambiance

Pools were lovely and surrounding areas.
Felt a little dated. Some mold in our room. Attention to detail not there. Many paths around the property could do with some attention.

We loved our daily breakfast, amazing spread, the pools were fantastic with a lot of room, rooms were serviced while we were out for breakfast so nice and clean and tidy when we got back, the staff were always friendly and helpful, everywhere we went for tourist sightseeing was easily accessible with a short drive from the resort, lots of parking, town was close for extra supplies for the week!
With a family we brought plates and knives to use for lunches when not eating out
With all our swimming we always had wet clothes hanging in the bathroom and over the balcony so maybe a laundry service for drying?
But these small things would not prevent us staying here again,

Beautiful and expansive pools around the resort.
The gardens are lovely as is the location.
Whilst the hotel itself is rather old, the rooms are fresh.
Good options of food on site.
You can see some dating in some of the lagoon pools near the rooms.
Lots of sun lounges available during the day (off season).
Expensive poolside drinks.
The ensemble bed we had was terrible - the wheels had no lock and so the bed kept sliding away from the wall. Pillows were terrible as well. We both left feeling very sore.

Liked everything, the pools are amazing and the restaurants very nice

Location and staff
Room was in need of a make over bit tired as were a lot of the facilities. Our garden view room looked out at a tired rockery and weeds.

Everything was comfortable. The pools are lovely. The food was good. Love the refillable water bottle taps throughout the hotel.
We could hear waste water pipes in our room from the level above very clearly. Noise from corridors travel into the room all night.

Very friendly and helpful staff!

Beautiful tropical gardens and the bigger pool area and swim up bar were great. We loved the location on Four Mile beach, despite the strong mouldy smell in the room, the room styling and cleanliness was great, highlight was the breakfast food and brekky staff were awesome.
Strong mouldy smell in room, pool access lagoon room, needs updating. Our first impressions were not great and felt disappointed on arrival. Lagoon pool room was Not worth the extra $$. Do not recommend this as it was disappointing. Beds were not super comfy. We did enjoy our stay overall, it was a good memorable experience for our family. But in all honesty expected a lot more for the price we paid. We would stay closer to town next time.

This was our second stay here, we love the pools, the swim up bar and the gardens. Great cocktails. The book exchange service sounds lovely (couldn't take advantage unfortunately as I use a Kindle for reading).
No allergy and vegan labels for the breakfast buffet to cater to diverse dietary needs. Not many vegan options for breakfast. At the level of a 5-star hotel, this reflects a poor understanding of contemporary dietary preferences and their willingness to accommodate them.
The air conditioning in the room couldn't go lower than 22.5C.

Location and the layout of the multi pools was very pleasant. Ease of getting to Port Douglas and surrounding area.
Sue to the lack of guests I felt there were not enough staff particularly in the restaurants at breakfast. It felt like an end of season and outside our room a pile of dirty beach towels was left for 3 days. We had to ask for enough bath towels as they only left 2 for 3 people on each of the days. For such a wonderful place it was a let down that some staff seemed disinterested in us.

Loved the resort as a whole. Very relaxing . Definitely will be visiting again.
Bed was not very comfortable, and neither were the pillows but not a deal breaker.
Would have loved to see more entertainment and / or activities within the resort. Food could be better.

Staff were amazing throughout the hotel. They made an effort to talk to my 2 year daughter every day and made us all feel very welcome and comfortable.

Loved it, well maintained grounds, water stations are great, lagoon pools amazing, loved how our young kids could stand in a lot of areas in the pool. The lobby is outstanding, air conditioning wonderful, nice smells, buffet breakfast was fun!! Staff were friendly! We liked that the place was out of town.
Hard to say to be honest..

The rooms were lovely and comfortable, pool was great and service was good. Good bars and restaurants.
A little overpriced for what it is, we also had no water the night of our stay as the water was off in port Douglas and were offered no assistance for toilets, showers etc. in comparison, a hotel we stayed in the night after gave us a discount on the room due to no water as well as drinking water provided.

Swimming Pool space was great so I didn’t feel like people were on top of you
It appears that during COVId the property didn’t take an opportunity to update and refresh its facilities. The rooms felt quite dated with cracking paint in the rooms and the beds felt quite old the interior decor felt old.
The swimming, pool, chairs, and tables very difficult to use plastic in nature weren’t overtly comfortable
Breakfast stuff I had poor attention to detail multiple requests each breakfast to seek out the coffee order to be delivered. Five of the eight nights. My coffee order didn’t arrive until I actually finished breakfast in its entirety.
In room cleaning wasn’t done well very limited towel transfer very little vacuuming done within the property bed very much unmade I had to the points in terms of the bathroom how to make three Kohl’s to room service to get toilet paper

Good location on Four Mile beach and it would have been an amazing resort when it was built in the ‘80’s in terms of layout, pools, facilities etc Great gardens and pool areas, although pool needs an overhaul
Very outdated and tired looking, especially in communal areas, that could be improved for a small investment. Staff also a bit disinterested in customer service

As always a lovely place.
A mix up on my end on the checkout times. Resultantly charged an astronomical amount for one night stay.. room was not cleaned irrespective.

The amount of pool area is excellent. There is a large freshwater pool as well as multiple lagoons, with plenty of deck chairs available.
If you like your pool & lagoon water on the warmer side then Feb, Mar, April are ideal.
The rooms are a good size.
The buffet breakfast is good value.
There is a shuttle bus that goes between the hotels and the town. There is a fee, $7 per person one way.
You walk into the town either along the beach or along the road, it is approximately 20mins walk, depending on your stamina.
The music from the pool bar can be intrusive.
The poolside cabanas have gone up in price , $150-175 per day which is a bit steep in my opinion.

Great location and pool.
Young and pleasant staff
Many restaurants and eatery options
1/ Breakfast, which is paid extra. Not many options to choose from. Queue for a simple omlette. Had to wait for over 15 mins to refill the pre-cooked scrumble eggs. I fund the breakfast could be further improved to hit the $48 dollar price for a 5 star hotel, else included in the room rate.
2/ Having to pay extra for the cabanas. I think it should be free of charge

Wine choices often not available
Restaurant closed at 9pm
One restaurant uses plastic cups for wine /sparkling at dinner service for adults…wouldn’t order $120 bottle of sparkling to drink from thick plastic cup

Having to pay for the shuttle into town.

The stand-out point was your excellent well-trained staff, whether at the front desk, around the pool, at the pool bars/restaurants, working on outside maintenance, or generally involved in the day-to-day operations. Also, generous relaxed car parking to come and go as desired.
I didn't like that I had to leave. We had a wonderful break, but it was not long enough.

Breakfast was great and the staff bend over backwards to help, they were very friendly. The location is great as it's a short ride to town. I especially love the beautiful gardens and the large pools.
