Das Personal hat uns sehr herzlich empfangen. Das Hotel ist äusserst sauber, gut gelegen und ist wirklich einladend. Wir würden das Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen und können es nur weiterempfehlen.

Had a wonderful stay in Madre Tierra Patagonia. The staff was amazing, very kind and attentive, and helped me with suggestions and advice. After every day tour I took from El Calafate, it was lovely to rest here, breakfast is very good too!
My room was cosy and very well equipped and spotless clean, I am overall very satisfied and would have loved to stay for a longer period!

Great location. Helpful staff. Wi-Fi works. Rooms are comfortable tough not that big, well decorated, updated, bed is very comfortable. Bathroom is modern, updated and well equipped. Breakfast is delicious and has great variety.

The staff are excellent, close location and plenty of small touches that make the hotel feel personalized to our stay
4.5
The location is good, close to everything. The staff is very helpful.
Breakfast is separate and for $20 USD, it is on the expensive side compared to good breakfast places nearby.

Location is excellent and staff were friendly. Breakfast was good.
It is effectively a guest house and so you can hear guests speaking at reception when you’re in your room. There was a payment issue whereby the hotel charged the whole stay in USD before we arrived, whilst the booking clearly said: only one night would be charged, and it would be in local currency (ARS). Upon calling them they had little interest in helping and deferred us to Booking.com. Only upon arrival did they agree to refund the USD payment and charge in ARS - but only if in cash. It is impossible in Argentina at present to withdraw more than 15,000 ARS ($40) at any one time so needless to say it was not possible.
Besides their payment system that charged the money took an admin fee which was mentioned nowhere.
I would not recommend.

very helpful and friendly family run business. Great position with a few minutes walk to a big choice of restaurants, shops and waterfront.

The personnel working there is brilliant! They do everything possible to make you feel at home including laundry service, welcome drinks everyday, a very generous breakfast and a turn down service every evening which you wouldn’t expect for this type of hotel. On top of that, Mariano, the owner, is omnipresent also helping to organize guides ahead of time and, if you’re lucky, taking you around the area himself!

The location off this gem is perfect in El Calafate - close to the main road through town with shops and restaurants, but enough away it was perhaps quieter. The hotel is staffed 24/7, which is nice as you leave your keys there and don't have to worry if you'll be too late and have to wait while someone wakes to give you the key back. Every staff person was super helpful.
The breakfast was delicious, and very carefully served so as to avoid waste. Covered containers were available with single servings, so nothing sat out or spoiled or went spare. Very responsible.
This could have been user error, but our room, toward the back of the hotel, seemed to be circulationally challenged. It was stifling, but as it was summer you really couldn't leave the window open unless you wanted to be awake at 4am when the sun rose. It was warmer than normal for late November when we were there, but that is probably a trend around to stay.

The hotel is cozy and homely. Mariano is very efficient and friendly. Very good breakfast
There is no television. Do not exchange money in the hotel, the rate is lower than in the city

Mariano; the owner and host, organized amazing experiences with short Notice. Too many to list; but our favorites included Kayaking, awesome El Chalten hike, Petit Perito Moreno Glacier hike( our favorite!). The restaurant Reccomendations we’re delicious!
Mariano is a Local, not only a Patagonia expert but a degreed profesional that can plan trips for amateurs like us to profesional hikers! Madre Tierra is the best place to stay in El Calafate!
We loved everything!

Very good location
The hotel overcharged my credit card claiming it was "card processing fee" although it was not mentioned anywhere and no other place we booked through booking did this. We had to get and return the room key at the front desk each time we went out and came back, had some water pressure issues, and when we asked for help with ordering a taxi they refused because they have their own "taxi service".

Nice hotel and very good staff. Rooms are clean and well mantained but small without suficient storage. Team was very helpful and provided nice recommendations what helped make the most of our visit.
The dont accept the oficial dollar rate and charge "blue", which makes it relatively expensive. Rooms are small without suficient storage

Excellent staff, they really make you feel at home and very helpful. Great location with a short walk to lots of restaurants and stores. Nice bakery across the street and a Cafe 1 block away that I went to several times.
Nothing. Was very happy with my experience.

Quiet, warm, comfortable and cosy. we always love a comfy bed and this was no exception. Also lovely to have comfortable and inviting shared common spaces. The weather wasn’t cold enough to warrant it, but we are shall it will be lovely when the fire in the upstairs sitting is lit. The staff team were so helpful - recommending excursions and restaurants and making all the bookings. A delightful experience all round.
The bedroom was snug but that encouraged us to use the wonderful sitting room.

It is all ok

The staffs are friendly and helpful and they have nice breakfast. it’s situated 500m from main avenue, so it’s easy to going around by walking. You’ll also find a good restaurant next to the hotel.
The room was not soundproof, so expect some disturbances when you’re trying to sleep. But that was acceptable because it’s not a 5 stars hotel.
