Great location, right on sea front, with parking at rear. Right in the heart of the town.Staff were superb, nothing too much trouble, very considerate. Breakfasts very good. Lovely atmosphere and feel to the place. Our family had rooms on 1st,2nd &3rd floors, all varied and 1st&2nd floor easy level access from lift, ideal for the older members of family. Rooms newly refurbished, light and airy, very comfortable beds, and quiet location with just sound of the waves.
Nothing to dislike

The location overlooking the sea was perfect
The room was fairly small but wasn’t a huge problem, however the en suite was tiny

The room
The dinner was great. It is right on the sea front.
Well I had a very cheap room, so I can't complain it was a bit of a rabbit warren to get to it.
4.2
Nicely appointed single room with all facilities needed and with french doors to a small terrace overlooking the seafront. Extremely clean. Very good breakfast and a comfortable lounge. Very pleasant and efficient staff. Thank you all.
Just one thing to consider if the parking facility is important to you: Check whether it is possible to reserve a space when you book or whether it is a matter of first come first served (which is fair enough). I did have conflicting messages about this. There is paid parking close by though and a very limited number of free on-street parking spaces in front of the hotel.- if you are lucky enough to get one!

Breakfast was very good - excellent choice each day.
Nothing - everything was great.
4.2
Easy going with good service very helpful staff.
4.2
Location is great, space inside for guests is brilliant
I was on the third floor and there was a washing machine (or something similar,) going close by till about midnight - quite loud so not ideal
4.2
Great position on the Beach Front. Spotlessly clean, attentive and friendly staff, superb room and a very tasty breakfast.
Nothing.

Nice breakfast in the hotel, nice location, lovely sea view from the room. Staff were trying their best to help.
1) The hotel listing says "free onsite parking" but once you have paid £300 for one night (which is none refundable!) it tells you there is no parking. You end up driving for hours to find one parking space in fully packed Sidmouth.
2) TV in the room was not working, we tried resetting and manual channel tuning but no luck. As a secondary point, the TV is permanently affixed to one of the walls and it can only be watched from an awkward angle in the room. It wouldn't take much to install a bracket so the TV can face the bed (somewhat a moot point as the TV didn't work anyway).
3) Although the sea view was nice, the room design is really poor. There are 2 tiny balconies/cages on two sides of the main window. Way too small for the two of us to enjoy it as a couple. Photos should have been taken and added to the advert so that people know what they pay for.
4). The advert says 2 sofa beds, again missold, one "sofa" is sort of a love-chair, not suitable for anyone sleeping on it (a toddler, maybe).
5) Room run down.

Seaview room had a breathtaking view and I absolutely loved there was a small balcony to sit on to enjoy it too. Everything was lovely and clean and the bathroom spotless with lovely smelling shower gel and handwash and plenty of thick white fluffy towels on a heated towel rail. Very comfy bed. The receptionist lady (short dark hair & glasses) was absolutely fabulous! So helpful and friendly. Breakfast was outstanding! Vegetarian option included a veggie sausage and a nice chunk of haloumi and some spinach alongside the usuals. A very nice additional touch.
The actual hotel restaurant wasn't visibly advertised, we were just asked if we were eating in. We didn't see any menus either online or in our rooms or at reception to decide on that . Nor the bar. We only spotted the bar set back between reception and a lounge when we were leaving as there are a few stairwells you can use to enter & leave the hotel, so if you only use one side you won't spot it. Having visible menus near reception and in rooms for the restaurant would be good and a signpost for the bar too (if it was signposted it wasn't noticed)

Great Staff very helpful

All the rooms were clean, fresh and tastefully furnished and decorated. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious with seasonal vegetables, all very well cooked and presented.
Very little information in the way of leaflets advertising local attractions or amenities. No information pack in the bedroom. This may have been because of covid regulations. We had to ask at Reception.
4.2
Fine location. Breakfasts very good and well presented. We were on b&b terms but had dinner most evenings, all good.
The attic room was very small, and space for clothes was extremely limited. There was no room for a small bedside table on one side to the bed.
4.2
Friendly welcome. Spotless rooms. Nice breakfasrwonder
4.2
Lovely location, service was brilliant
Rooms could benefit from a fan or aircon as the room was too hot to sleep. Larger beds.

Really good freshly cooked breakfast served efficiently by very helpful staff. Dinner was not gourmet style food , just really good traditional cooking swiftly delivered and really excellent value for money. Comfortable rooms and very spacious. Modern decorations, overall a really good local medium sized hotel.
Nothing really, everything was as I would have wished for
