The room was as expected and good. The breakfast was fine. The reception staff were friendly and helpful.
One member of the canteen staff was rude.

Beautiful building. Private room with bath. Quiet area. Breakfast was very good and plentiful.
Steep climb to enter property. Phone charge by bed not working. Room was a bit warm with no air conditioning control in the room.

El palacete y las vistas que tiene el albergue
Por la mañana mantenimiento había cortado el agua y no pudimos ducharnos ni lavarnos los dientes

It is very close to the hills, you can get there in 15 mins and you will have the view over the city. The building is old with beautiful arcticture with colorful forms.
It is a little upphill to get from metro station to house.

Nice place. nice property

The outside of the hostel was beautiful and the reception area had a lovely mosaic detail. A beautiful building. Staff were very friendly and able to help with any directions/questions. Breakfast was included which was a range of breads, meats and cheeses. The view from the room out over the city was incredible. The room was nice and warm for our stay. There was a wardrobe to hang clothes.
The bunk beds were so uncomfortable, very thin mattresses and barely there pillows. One of the beds creaked so loudly anytime you moved. Very thin walls so could hear peoples convos and any comings and goings. That along with the awful beds made it hard to sleep. No shower gel/shampoo and the bathroom got very wet anytime the shower was on. Breakfast was on for 2 hours every day but the staff were often not in the room so had to wait around to be served. There is also an extra supplement to be paid unless you have a specific hostel card (you can buy the card for 5 euros each or pay an extra 12 euros). The hostel is also around a 20 minute metro ride away from the main part of the city with the metro stop being a 10 min walk away. The hostel is also only reached by walking up a very steep driveway. Overpriced for how basic the rooms are/distance from the city centre.

This place is charming. The building is old, but impressive. Admirations to the owners for maintaining its authentic look by adapting it for guests. The hostel was well heated, bed linen was new and clean. All the staff were very kind and friendly. Breakfast was included in the price and was much richer than that offered in some hotels. There are quite a few common areas that can be used without having to stay in your rooms. There are also lockers and you can store your luggage after you leave your room and collect it later. The facilities it offers are basic and if you are looking for luxury, this is not your place.
The beds are uncomfortable for large people.

Lovely staff, 6 or 7 minutes walking distance from the Metro station, bus stop just outside the building, set in a quiet and safe area

Very poor; no eggs, just 1 croissant
I don't like the breakfast and the idea of travelling to 2nd floor with luggage without lift

Amazing location! 5min to metro station. Free parking! We had private room for 2 with private shower. Great value for money!
Everything in the room is a bit old, but it is a perfect place to sleep after day in Barcelona.

I only stayed for a short time because my experience with hostels is that they are not always my thing. This hostel is different. It's great.
I had a private room with private bathroom. It was much larger than expected. There was a decently comfortable bed, a desk, and a large bathroom. No towels or soap provided so you need to bring your own. I had a nice view from my window.
The hostel is up on a hill with easy access to the center of town by metro. There is free parking, which is rare in BCN. The wifi worked well. The staff was very friendly. It's in a historical building, it looks amazing.
Breakfast in the morning was a bit basic but nice to have it included. Maybe I came too late and missed the best food.
Overall, this is one of the better places to stay in BCN if you are on a budget, but also want a private room.
Barcelona tip: the road to and from the hostel is very very busy and there is often traffic jams. Allocate more time to get to the airport than you think you need.
Also, there are a lot of bus/taxi lanes that are hard to identity (road markings) because there are so many cars. Careful because there are cops everywhere enforcing. If you think your lane goes much faster than the one next to you, you may be in the bus lane haha

Staff was friendly and helpful in providing information about the transportation options and surrounding area also provided a map. Secure free parking available within the site. Facilities are clean and new.
Even if you rent the entire hostel room (sleeps 6 adults) as we did, the air conditioning temperature within the room is permanently fixed at 27C and the staff will not change it (Hostel Policy). That led to a sleepless summer (Aug) night as Barcelona was very hot and humid during our stay. Make sure to take a torch or your smart phone when entering the shared bathrooms. The lights work on motion sensors and if you are the only person in the shower then the lights will go off after sometime and you will not be able to get them back on while in the shower-it’s pitch dark.

Locality was nice, just a few minutes near metro stop. You have to make a few steps to the hill but nothing horrible.
The room was dirty. Hair on the floor in the bathroom. I had a feeling that they forgot we are coming and did not clean our rooms. The sheets looked used and were thickened like someone has been there night before. The price was low but I expected clean sheets and floor at least. If this was ok I would give 8/10

not enough plug sockets.

Staff very helpful and friendly. Changed rooms easily on check in. Grand building. Cheap and cheerful for Barcelona. Get what you pay for.
Free parking.
Good for a 1 night stay.
The air conditioning did not work. Next day we were told that we could have asked reception to activate it!!! It was controlled by a room sensor. Obviously didnt work as it was really hot. Also group of children running around and knocking on doors late at night and early hours in the morning. School holiday group possibly but no staff watching them. No Hostel staff members keeping an eye on noise during the night.

We loved the staff and the breakfast, also the building is so beautiful
The room was in the third floor with no fan or ventilation just one window. We couldn't sleep because of the heat in the room at night

the beautiful building,
the nightwatch,
the garden,
the place for the car, behind the fence
1) The staff had finished preparing the breakfast 45 minutes after the breakfast openend. At 7:30, the time breakfast should open, there were two woman, chitchatting. It took a very long time, before everything was ready.
2) The rooms were really hot, without airco, but it was also really hot outside.

Our room came with a free breakfast, which we appreciated. The staff were also commendable. They made a mistake when they didn’t inform us about the room change, so they gave us a little discount. They were apologetic about it so it’s fine. The staff were very accommodating to our needs.
They changed our room without telling us beforehand. The room we stayed in was a dorm-type room, but for our exclusive use. We booked a triple room originally, so we were surprised when we entered the room because it was a different one.
