Compared to most hotels in the United States these days, Hotel Harare is luxurious, and they let me check in at 10 in the morning, which means I had the room for more than 24 hours but for only 1 night's cost. Try to check into a hotel in the US at 10 am or even 1pm and see what happens....you will most likely be met with an angry face or bad attitude, and for a similar price in the US you will stay at a complete dump. It's great to see that there are some countries where you still get what you pay for, because nowadays almost everything in the US is a rip-off - end capitalism now!!!

Large room.
The location is in a shady area. The beds are extremely hard and blankets have probably bed bugs sine I work up with bug bits. they started cleaning in the corridor at 7:00am

The room did not come with breakfast but I did pay for it in the small restaurant on the ground floor. I think that what most impressed me was the great size of the room, the bed, the shower area and toilet which were separate from the room rather than somehow squeezed in. In this respect the rooms were really well conceived. I seem to remember the marble(stone) surfaces everywhere. This added to the feel of quality about the place. The hotel is located right next to the metro so that in a handful of stops you could be at Mexico City’s main plaza and grand cathedral. The hotel doors operate with a card. I heard no others guests during my stay. I would not say this is a friendly type place where the hotel is particularly invested in your stay being wonderful. It is a professional place. I loved the bed and slept so soundly.
The hotel is next to a really busy duel carriageway with the metro running down the middle, so outside is really noisy. Rooms are however isolated from this. The neighbourhood is not anything special but respectable enough.

Once you get past some of the awkward things, such as the reception being behind glass and ‘hourly stays’ being rather common, it was quite a pleasant stay for the price.
We had a unit facing the highway but the double windows kept it surprisingly quiet. And there was (again, surprise) no noise from adjacent rooms.
The shower was large and the water hot, but keep in mind that there is no real separation between the shower and the remainder of the room… sharing the room with friends or family may be too revealing.
The beds and pillows were firm but comfortable, don’t expect a soft bed like hotels catering to tourists. Housekeeping did a great job keeping the room clean every day.
Such easy access to the Metro and only 6 stops/under 15 mins to Centro Historico. Also super easy to get an Uber. The neighborhoods west and east of the highway are very nice with good food and coffee less than a 10 minute walk, but along the highway itself is just slightly sketchy.
And there is the cutest little door adjacent to the sink to open and receive room service instead of opening the main door!
Heads up, staff speaks Spanish only. If you’re expecting to be treated and pampered like a tourist, pay double and stay in Reforma. But if you are looking for a more authentic and affordable CDMX hotel, it’s one of the better finds.
The room often smelled like cigarette smoke when we returned, and there was some construction noise in the building during the day. Only one room key was given and it was also required to power up the room, making it difficult for one person to leave and one to stay. Having a refrigerator in room would have been helpful.

Cleanliness- Daily Room cleaning service ! Pleasent environment . Good value for money.
Staff not speaking english at all. Ordred lunch on room service. Meals didnt turnup ...after one hour went to the reception. They didnt understand what I was saying or nobody could speak or understand the language (English). I asked to speak with the manager. Manager was out and couldnt be reached on the phone too. Had to use google translater for simple things and the person at the reception had no idea of his responsibilities. I left a message at the reception asking the manager to get back. Which never happened...not did I get my meals. It was not a good experiance. If you dont speak spanish...this is not the place !
