The location and scenery was stunning.
Bungalows ok, could need some renovation ..

I like the honesty of the staff, when I check out I was still waiting for my friends and then when they mentioned my bungalow # I thought there’s something wrong but they gave me the earrings that I forgot on my bungalow.

Location tranquilla a nord dell'isola. Molto curata.

Beautiful setting. Super friendly and helpful staff. Food was great, lots of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bungalows were comfortable and clean.

I was here on off peak season so I had plenty of space all to myself. You could swim around the resort and find rocks outside of sandy beach area. If you find rocks you'll find the new fresh growing corals and all the pretty (and weird) fishes!
I was here only for the freediving experience. I do recommend your own set of flippers/fins and mask/snorkle for snorkeling/freediving. Flippers are more or less necessary because you need to move 100's of meters to find the underwater rocks. Flippers also helps you keep your feet from sinking down and getting poked by sharp sea urchins! You do not want to get that kind of hurt out on Koh Rong islands as proper hospital services are HOURS away.
There was a very limited amount of boat tours/guided tours offered off peak season, there was no fins/flippers offered to rent but masks/snorkle was available though.
Palm beach has all the necessary amenities for successful easy going Cambodian island life like proper 230V power, good 4G phone reception, clothes washing service and (most importantly) life saving fans to remain properly human temperated and good foods from Palm Beach kitchen.
Easy to get to Palm Beach and back to mainland through their own boat fleet. I did appreciate- and you will probably also appreciate this service compared to other options/solutions that other resorts have on the island. Very comfortable service.
I was there during rain season and nothing dries properly = everything that has been wet will remain "moist" and will start to smell in about 2 days if not washed properly!
Simple handwashing with a hand friendly detergent will prolong the useful life of underwear, swim wear etc.
There are several access points to the long Palm Beach beach front, however it seemed only one narrow path, on one place was "safe". I was warned about the entire right side of beach is off-limits to walk into water on due to the high chance of stepping on sharp volcanic rocks or worse, stabbing your own foot by blindly stomping on a sea urchin or stepping on a broken off urchin spike.
The left side of beach has a few different smaller access points, rest is obscured by growth. Once you get a few meters out, off the dry beach you have all the 100's meters of beach to walk about. I took the nearest beach access slot to my bungalow and unfortunately found (under water) broken glass buried in sand... with my foot. On my way back I looked way way more careful and picked up 4 large pieces of a broken glass bottle, all barely visible sticking up in sand.
After that I stuck to ONE narrow path on the ONE beach access slot nearest to reception/restaurant. It did have some under water growth of fresh reeds(or something) growing the first 2 meters of stepping into water. Those where uncomfortable to step on but they where easily spotted and avoided by just watching where you put your feet down. After that initial few meters the coast became clear and you can pick up the pace and walk... and walk... and walk more because you need to get 50-75m off the beach to be able to get deep enough to swim at all. Once deep enough you can swim however much you want to your hearts content.

Feeling of the real island life . The peace you can experience here . Location is just like paradise on earth.

The ambiance, setting, friendly staff, great atmosphere, amazing boat trip, good food, and being far from everything
Maybe different lunch options. A few hooks for clothes, but really overall nothing we didn't like

Location is great! Atmosphere is relaxing. Staff is so kind and helpful, beautiful people. Personal attention.
Good Western and Khmer food. We did a snorkeling trip and swum at night, surrounded by amazing fluorescent plankton.
1.5
the atmosphere is great because you are on the beach and there is a pool table and the staff is really friendly
the price is so expensive for the food (and it’s nothing special) because they know that there is nothing else around… $7 for a fried rice is just ridiculous. $1,75 for a juice that is not even fresh juice. Also the bed in our bungalow was wet because all the room are open and many insects around as it is in the jungle. 1st night we didn’t sleep at all because of the noises around. you must be ready for this.

The place is lovely and super remote. The food was mostly good.
I booked a room with air-conditioning and a pool but neither were there. The place hardly had walls and there was a plague of insects when I was there and not even my mosquito net kept them out. There was a palm branch touching the roof and it sounded like someone was crawling around up there whenever the wind blew. There was no hot water. There was little privacy in the rooms at night as I could clearly hear the people in the next hut talking.
The pictures of the place were deceptive and I feel quite cheated and definitely overpaid for what it was.

Fantastic, beautiful place with great energy, full of joy and fun😆🍷😎. And all this thanks to the wonderful Dutch hosts: Maraia and Roy, who are the soul and heart of this place. Always ready to help, advise, take care of you. Delicious meals prepared by local Kmers. Without hesitation, I can recommend this place to all adventure lovers. I'm not saying goodbye to this place and the owners, because I'm going back there in January. See you at Palm Beach Bungalows🤗☺️

The snorkelling tour they offer is amazing too!

This property is perfectly situated on the beachfront for a quiet getaway from the city. The rooms are clean, tidy and basic, we had 2 strong fans and mosquito nets in our room as well as a flushing toilet and a lovely balcony with a hammock. Staff were friendly and helped with all questions. We booked a sunset snorkel through the resort which was amazing! The food is well priced and delicious, and the bar is a fun place to hang, with pool, darts and board games to use for free! 100% recommend!

It is a cool little island in Cambodia. The island itself is very basic, you go to the island to enjoy a relaxing break not for 5 star luxury. The beach bungalows were clean, and comfortable and standard for the island (there are not a lot of frills, as there does not need to be). I stayed in one of the beachfront bungalows and I really enjoyed it, it was cool and comfortable and I loved the hammock out front. The restaurant was good and the staff friendly. I enjoyed my experience completely!

- Fantastic location, surrounded by miles of empty beaches. Sea is packed with life especially around the rocks and piers.
- Staff were so friendly and helpful - as soon as you arrive via their ferry service your bags are driven away and taken to your rooms, given a welcome drink and told about how the resort works.
- 100% worth doing the snorkelling tour they provide. $20pp , snorkelling, fishing, swimming with glowing plankton, free drinks.
- Didn’t have any room service for our 5 night stay which was a bit hard at times especially with overflowing bins and no toilet paper!
- Tab service for your entire stay is compulsory and the menu isn’t particularly cheap so you are in danger of overspending heavily. Not helped by the fact that unless you rent motorbikes for $15 a day then pretty much your only available food will be what they offer.
- Not much to do outside of the resort itself but it completely depends on what kind of stay you’re looking for.

amazing place with wooden huts under the palm trees in front of a beach with shallow warm water, sand bars and white sand.
There is a beach bar with chilll music during the day and more dance some nights where you could enjoy fresh fruit shakes, beers & cocktails and of course plenty of food so you will never get bored.
Mr Tan and his friendly stuff organise boat trips and they are ready to help you in everything (for example they organise our way back to Phnom Penh).
Palm beach is not really close to the main pier of the island but this is exactly what gives you the feeling of a lost paradise plus they have their own boat for pick up and drop off you back to sihanoulvile otherwise you will reach the huts by tuk tuk from the main pier of the island with 20usd.
Here you probably could find the hippie vibes of Asian beaches from past decades
Bad wi-fi connection but it’s a change to discover the nature or even ourselves and maybe the noise of the local fishermen boats which I suppose is not a real problem

the property was right on the beach with a laid back bar/ restaurant and the owner was great

The resort was so beautiful, we loved the private beach and the food was good too! The boat trip was lots of fun

Pleasant stay.
The bungalow we booked, we did not get. We were put in the back courtyard, which has the generator for the resort next to it. The noise goes on 24/7 and its annoying. Please make sure you confirm what bungalow you arear you are in.
The path to the resort has no steps and is very steep. Thank god for the tuk-tuk driver to help us with the suitcases.
The bungalows are geared to large youth group travelers - Ok if you like that.
Nothing is really close by to walk to. Not enough beach chairs.

the scenery is very nice
stuff is very friendly
after 13:00 you can’t swim because of the tide.also the beach is very small with not much sun.
weird smell sometimes.
very isolated.
they charge 5 dollars extra for tuk tuk and motorbike rental
food is not good at the restaurant.
all surrounding area is full of garbage.
resort is always full of teenagers in organized groups that are quite noisy.

Absolutely beautiful location in a quiet part of the island with plenty of space for walking on the beach. A nice chilled-out atmosphere under the palm trees. The room was quite nice and the electricity worked all the time.
Overall, it was great but there were a few things that I should mention.
1. There was no wifi. I actually booked this resort because it was supposed to be better than others on the island in terms of wifi but there was none. However, the 4G worked fine there and so I could tether my laptop to my phone.
2. There was no soap in the bathroom. I get that maybe shampoo/shower gel is a luxury, but a bathroom without soap is a bit of a hygiene problem. Luckily I'd brought hand sanitiser.
3. The ordering process in the restaurant is a bit strange. On the first day, someone brought me a menu and took my order. Other tables did the same. After that, I had to go up and order at the bar. The staff will stand around playing on their phones or playing pool. It's almost impossible to get their attention. No signs saying "order at the bar." However, once you attract someone's attention they are super polite and friendly. There should either be a sign or more consistent table service.

Quiet with a relaxing, remote feel. Friendly staff. Very good snorkeling on one excursion they organised. Tasty food in restaurant. Own private boat available direct to resort but takes 2 hours so if you don't like being on the sea might be better to take public 40-minute speedboat plus tuktuk option.
To be more eco, the resort really should stop selling plastic water bottles and instead do refills from larger reusable containers. Generally, the island is quite scruffy and litter strewn and Palm Beach could do with dedicating some staff time to a good clean up in and around their patch. Also, allowing anyone to smoke anywhere is a bit old fashioned. It is fine for the smokers but can ruin a meal for non-smokers.
