Goede parkeerplek

Normaal schrijven we geen negatieve reviews, want er zijn altijd dingen die goed zijn en beter kunnen. Maar deze ervaring hebben we als zo vervelend ervaren, dat we het toch doen. Hou je van: - Hard geluid tot 22.00 uur en vanaf 07.00 - Koude douche - Rioollucht in de hele kamer - Slechte bedden - Ramen die niet dicht kunnen - Honden en katten die overal rondlopen - Ongeïnteresseerde werknemer en eigenaar - Kooklucht die de hele avond blijft hangen Dan is dit HOSTEL (geen hotel te noemen) de plek voor jou! We hebben dit alles aangegeven, de avond zelf en de volgende ochtend. De eigenaar reageerde onbeschoft. Hij wilde ons nergens in tegemoet komen. Uiteindelijk zijn we na 1 nacht weggegaan, heeft een hoop geld gekost. Hou je van een fijn en rustig hotel, dan zeker verder zoeken.

Relaxed atmosphere, considerate and organised.

Great location, perfect place to relax between activities. The pool table and bar provide a great opportunity to engage with others in the evening. The hotel recommended and organised our activities and transport in advance and offered us a late check out so that we could shower after our activities before heading off to the next location. Of all the places we have stayed during our trip, our stay here was the most organised and most relaxing.

The staff were super sweet and friendly, on top of that the whole jungle vibe of the hotel it’s just amazing!

Best in Costa Rica

Everything think. It was super clean. Very relaxing atmosphere. The staff were great and helpful even made a booking through them. Highly recommended Best shower Best place stayed in Costa Rica

Exceptional

Tucan is comfortable and very cute; the large central area has many spaces for relaxing, social and private at the same time. It’s almost like the management looked at negative points for other area properties and used those to make Tucan an outstanding stay. Lots of hooks in the private room, a very basic but useful kitchen area, and a clean pool with many birds to watch. Families and younger travelers alike seemed to enjoy.

We only stayed one night.

Very comfortable and private dorm

The pod beds in the dorm are very comfortable and give you so much privacy but in the common area it’s still easy to get in touch with other travelers. Breakfast is alright. Pinto and eggs served and a fruit buffet.

The kitchen could be the only downside for self-caterers because it looks fairly small but it holds a variety of spices and seems to have everything necessary.

A Very beautiful hostel with cute cats and a dog. We felt instantly comfortable there and enjoyed our stay. Good breakfast and very friendly service

The dorms are absolutely fantastic, probably the best ones I have stayed in so far. The area is spacious and well organized.

It is pretty expensive in my opinion.

Tu anes, excellent. I'll visit again. Loved the national park and whales tail.

The breakfast was great. The location perfect. Pierre and wife were wonderful. The WiFi excellent. Room was awesome with a private bathroom for dorm.

2 nd stay here. Good value for the money. Location great for walking to restaurants etc. Staff very friendly. Parking inside the gates. Pool is always fun. Breakfast is better than average for Costa Rica. They have a kitchen available although we didn't use it.

No shampoo or soap in the bathroom. Not sure if this was an oversight as didn't ask anyone but we carry our own.

We stayed in a converted RV which had it's own bath. The owner is a really great person and gave very good sugestions on activities and places to eat.

Welcoming atmosphere

The open space - my kids loved running around and exploring. The hammocks, board games and book library made it fun! One lady even found some crayons and paper for my kids to draw. Walking distance to a supermarket and there was also great bakery right next doors. Check in and out was very smooth. Welcoming place!

There was a dining table right next to our room, my kids go to bed at 7pm and it was little difficult since other people were having dinner right next to our room (little loud). Perhaps moving the table to the dining area or further away from family rooms would help!

great place but you need to know what and how you are doing at stuff when you are there.

very clean. the pod dorm room was great, felt like you had your own space. breakfast was really good, nice fresh fruit.

wifi was spotty the farther from the main room you got. staff were friendly but when asked specific questions, didn’t get consistent answers.

super nice and a little fancy after cheap hostels for months!!

tho room was so nice and cosy. felt really homey. AC and fans in the room. every bed had curtains and it’s own nitghlamp. I slept so good!! breakfast was included. pool was nice even as the common areas ( there was a couch and hammocks). staff is friendly. a lot of nice restaurants close by. bathroom was super clean and kind of fancy with warm water!

it’s a bit more expensive but reasonable for what you get.

the common space was very inviting, having a pool was a bonus, super close to the bus stop, Bank and grocery store. also close to a set of waterfalls where you can easily was to and spend the day

Luxury Hostel

The bed was extremely comfortable and the private bath was perfect for a couple. When Uvita lost water on our last day, the hotel and neighborhood businesses just adapted.

The setup is more of a hostel than a hotel, with common areas for gathering and no sitting area in the room. It's important to speak Spanish here, the staff can write in English but not speak English.

Nice and clean hotel near the forest and waterfall of Uvita. Wel decorated, Cozy and calm place, Cool staff and clean dorms. You can walk to the forest and waterfall easily and enjoy the environment!

Please note that they have no bicycle for rent which is a big pity, and without that, you need to take a taxi to go to the beach which costs 5-7 Dollars (the beach is kinda far from the hostel). I hope they put bikes again which would give the tourists more pleasure! The dorms have no air-conditioning and they just have fans which was fine by me!

We would love to come back to this hotel.

The hotel staff was friendly. We got help already during booking. It was nice to be able to communicate in english. We woudn't have know about the cool waterfall near the hotel if the person in teh reception wouln'd have told us. The atmosphere of the hotel is overall excelent.

Our stay at the Tucan was one of the best surprises of our trip!

From the moment we arrived we felt at home. The owner, Pierre was always available and was happy to chat about anything that we had questions regarding including options available and his experience and knowledge of Costa Rica in general was freely shared. Sebastian who seemed to be available 24 hours a day was warm, friendly, knowledgable, and endlessly patient. The ambience was relaxed but attention to detail was amazing.

If I would make any suggestion (and this is picky) it would be to have a shuttle, perhaps once a day to the beach. We were happy to walk the approximately 3 km to the beach but it might be advisable for others to have one trip each day.
