Continental breakfast, but had use of cooking facilities, pots & pans ect, fridge, tv only single bed, owner very friendly

Breakfast, flexible when you can eat it, relaxed attitude of host which I valued. Breakfast well organised, the right quantities of everything to eat and drink,
No shed or shelter for my bike at night - really a very minor matter. The owner very helpfully priovided d a plastic sack for me. Very neat and tidy garden, area, nice and secure for the bike.

The room was single - but more spacious than I had envisaged. There was plenty of room for my huge suitcase, and rucksack, a comfy armchair, warm radiators, tv, coffee machine, kettle, hotplate, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with a small freezer. There was also an en suite, with some toiletries and towels provided. The fridge was stocked up with items for breakfast, such as ham, cheese, butter, yogurts, fresh orange juice, fresh milk, and there were also a choice cereals on a shelf in the room, and plenty of coffee capsules and teabags and instant coffee and milk sachets too. I had already done a bit of research and there is a small Asda within walking distance (less than half a mile away) and a bus stop (82) that goes between Dudley, via Bilston, to Wolverhampton and visa versa. I was able to borrow my sister's car for my stay, and there was space for 3 cars on the front, so no on street parking required. There is also a chip shop and Chinese takeaway very close by, again less than half a mile away. I had planned to use all these facilities, but in the end my week panned out quite differently. There was also a good wifi connection. The house felt secure and safe, which was important to me as a lone female traveller. Mike and Carolyn were very warm people, and greeted me on day 1, and then checked on me now and again to see if everything was okay.
Can't think of anything.

Mike & Carolyn were perfect hosts..they were immediately there when I needed them but discreetly invisible at other times. I found the façon of breakfast excellent...food and other requirement in my personal fridge..and topped up each new day..often with new surprises! The total flexibility of this idea was perfect..home from home!
I actually changed places within Mike & Carolyn's home during the last 2 days of my stay..a voluntary move..so I had the chance to experience and appreciate both styles of single bedded accomodation.
The ground floor is totally self contained and includes an ensuite nice big shower room / toilet...and in the studio style bedroom, a good range of cooking equipment, including a microwave and electric hob and coffee machine and kettle. And felt very private.
The "Garden View" suite of rooms!.. was equally agreeable..an individual bedroom with tea making facilities...plus a separate bathroom with full sized bath and over bath power shower (showers in both rooms excellent!)...and the piece de résistance...a large room with solid dining table..fridge with breakfast again..coffee machine / cereals etc etc etc..and a microwave...
Thank you Mike & Carolyn you truly deserve the success that you have...a great experience and highly recommended...oh! Great private car parking on house driveway, in a peaceful, upmarket private street ...
AND I was provided with a nice, new toothbrush in its wrapper in the bathroom on arrival..first time ever!!
Perhaps the downstairs room lacks some natural ventilation...but Mike kindly trusted me with the "implement" to open the roof light / velux on condition that closed when out in case it rained..and he's absolutely right!

Everything you could ever need and more we're available in the room. Cosy, comfortable bed. Lots of little extras that you never get in Hotels were available in the room made it feel very much like a home from home. And the warmest of welcomes

Comfy beds, located on a nice quiet street, lovely and attentive owners, and a well stocked breakfast room. Couldn't have asked for more!

I booked this lovely self contained single room in 2021, ahead of my interview for medical volunteer at the Commonwealth Games. I knew I would be coming and going at all different times throughout the games and needed to be completely independent. Mike and Carolyn are lovely people, they welcomed me with open arms and couldn't do enough to help me settle in and checked in with me from time to time to see how I was getting on at the games. The room is fully self contained and they left me some provisions to start me off for the fortnight, and topped them up from time to time. There is a full set of cooking utensils and on the second day of my visit they upgraded the toaster, kettle and the two ring cooking hob. I was being fed at the Games workforce dining room so didn't need to use the cooking facilities, but the toaster was very handy for a snack, particularly on the days when I did double shifts. The area is lovely, too. Very quiet, nice walk to the train or tram station (between 12 and 15 minutes depending on your walking speed) and the commute into Birmingham (I was based at the NEC) was easy, even on the days of the strike the tram (Metro) and buses were operating a full service, so I never had to panic about being late for my shifts. Unfortunately all my time was devoted to the Games, so I didn't have the time to do any touristy bits, however, I would highly recommend the Black Country Museum as it is very near, easily accessible by public transport and I had the best time when I visited about ten years ago.
Nothing, everything was exactly what I needed.

Left hand self-accommodation room was used. Very good indeed. Every implement, accessory and creature comfort anyone could wish for, A shower that works with all helpful accessories, a room that has everything in it needed. This particular room would not suit, perhaps, a tall or large built person as the shower and wash-basin area are very compact. But I enjoyed my stay here and would return as the owners were friendly and helpful, parking superb, there is a nearby shop to walk to and everything in the self-contained room was supplied, that anyone would need. Fridge items and self-served breakfast was all there, Above all, the room was very clean, tidy and clearly an effort is made to keep the place spotless. I was impressed by that. Thank you.
A very compact room and maybe would not suit a tall person as the single bed is not large or long to accommodate a six foot person. But for a single male or female under 5'10", the room is ideal and cosy for an overnight stay.

I would think parking might be an issue
