Superb, quiet location. Barn had everything we needed.Very friendly hosts who had no issues with our various requirements, children loved the animals and woods, if rather wet and muddy!!
Think I will get a smaller car for the narrow wiggly lanes , but then Ottery was built before cars were invented!!

How quiet, the animals, everything was coveted
Needs more outside light

Our family of four, with 5 and 8 yr-old girls, stayed for one night in Russet Cottage at Mazzard Farm. It was kind of the owners to let us stay for one night only and to arrive late. We were on our way to a wedding so couldn’t stay longer. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable. We really regretted not being able to stay for longer and will be back! Thank you to Ruud and family.
The only thing I would suggest is a larger sign outside but I don’t expect many people arrive in the dark on a cold winter night!

Plenty of space and comfortable. Brilliant shower. Clean all over.
Zappi EV charger was handy.
Needs a bit more furniture in the living area such as a coffee table or foot stool…this is very minor.
Internet was very hit and miss.

Lovely cottage in a farm. They have cats and a dog that are very friendly and some other animals in the garden. The cottage was very cosy for a nice getaway.

beautifully clean, warm and cosy perfect for a young family
it’s not that we didn’t like it but the loo was downstairs so a bit tricky for 4 geriatrics (😂) to navigate at night.

Really friendly and welcoming, nice added features- scones with clotted cream and jam! Lots of extras added in such as items in freezer to purchase, soaps, washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs etc all nice extras to see
All great!

We really enjoyed our mini break and like Russett Cottage very much. It was clean, well equipped and quiet. Communication was very good. We did get lost despite good directions from our host, but I think this was more down to my tiredness having had a long journey from Kent and it was dark. We arrived later than anticipated, but were met by our friendly host, Ruud, and shown in. There was a warm scone and jam, which was a really nice touch, and tea and coffee. They also supply washing up liquid, kitchen roll (no tea towel), loo rolls and hand soap in bathroom. The laundry room is just off the very pretty courtyard and has good laundry facilities, there is also a freezer full of baked goods which you can buy and leaflets on local attractions and there’s a selection of DVDs available. For families with young children, there’s a sheltered play area off the courtyard too. I would happily recommend staying here and we will definitely be back, it was charming.

Lovely cottage in fabulous surroundings. Perfect location to explore from, but also plenty to amuse our son in the grounds when we were at the property. Hosts were brilliant and gave us great advice on the surrounding area. Nice farm shop 10 minutes walk down the road. Cottage was perfect size for the 3 of us, and had everything that we needed. Courtyard outside with our own specific table was a good place to hang out in the early evening sun. So glad that we booked our stay in Russet cottage at Mazzards farm, and can't wait to return one day.
