Lovely host and beautiful, cozy hostel with everything a guest could ask for:
Hot shower, bath tub, guitar, professional massage chair, fireplace, wifi...
Super close to the city center, too
Loved my stay!

everything was great

Accommodation was situated in walking distance of shops, thermal pools, and local cafes. Bonus was a mini golf course right next door. Awesome host. A++ service. The room was large enough for my family of 4. Shared areas were also clean and tidy.

This backpacker is a gem of Hanmer Springs. Very clean and clear instructions on the facilities. The bed is comfortable and the common area has a cosy and relaxed vibe. Tristan and Yoko, the friendly owners have done really well. Tristan especially is very helpful in terms of letting you know what's good around town and you may also try him on tramping suggestions. Great chat! Will definitely be back.

Great staff, clean and fab location

Tristan and Yoko, the hosts, are super friendly and always up for a quick chat. Tristan was also very helpful with recommending good hikes in the area. The wood burner made it warm and cozy in the evenings. Every bed in my dorm had a bedside table with a lamp and there were plenty power outlets. The kitchen is well equipped and was always kept clean. The complimentary massage chair is a unique feature. Definitely recommend staying here!
Nothing!

Very close to centre of town, felt very much at home
Would like if there was a towel for the showers given at start of stay

Small place but spacious too. Good location top end of town, and neighborhood of The Heritage. Comfortable bed in a wooden board interior, and boarders of native garden
Close to town could have disadvantages, but you wont want car, as it is a walk everywhere .

The place was so cute and cozy, a good place to spend an evening on our way through Hamner. We found check-in + out easy and the fireplace welcoming.
We had read that the beds were quite comfortable but unfortunately found that we had a fairly sleepless night. Everything else was impeccable, our only feedback is in regards to the mattress.

Superb location at the edge of the CBD. Within a few 100 metres of the cafes, restaurants and the hot pools. Excellent host. Cleanest backpackers ever! Thank you!

The facilities were clean, the room was nice and the bed was very comfy.
The only reason why I give a lower score it's because of the staff. I never give bad reviews but the guy at reception when I checked in wasn't very helpful at all.
I asked him if I could use the WiFi after the checkout because I had an online appointment at 11am, otherwise if he could recommend any cafe with good WiFi. He suggested I could park my car next to the public library for my appointment... otherwise there is an extra charge of 5$ for 'late checkout'. I'm sorry but I find this ridiculous, it doesn't mean any extra cost for you to let your guests sit in the living room to use the WiFi an hour after the checkout time.
Also, when I asked him about any recommendations for dinner, I said I like Mediterranean food and he chuckled saying that there's not many options around Hanmer Springs for that... I ended up having the best carbonara I ever had an hour later. Plus I had a really nice souvlaki the day after for lunch and there was a tapas place next door. Not sure what he understands for Mediterranean food?
The lady at reception for my checkout was lovely though, I guess he just didn't have the best day.
I also work in customer service and I'm just trying to be constructive here. I'm sorry for the bad review.
