The food was amazing, even meal and breakfast both well cooked and very tasty. Excellent, will definately book again when in the area. Booked a small single room for my requirements on this visit. Was functional, clean and everything i needed for the good price.

Situated in the Kent countryside and in a small village. Both the evening meal and breakfast were excellent. It was good to see that there was a good mix of people using the accommodation and also being used by the local community. I would stay again.

Very homely and clean thoughout. Room very neat and usual Tea provided in room etc.. Staff exceptionally attentive and kindly - almost like 'going back in time'. Chef, extremely accomodating food wise and a great cook.
Actually would have extended our stay but the place was (understandably) already booked out.
Our room was not large but big enough, the bathroom surprisingly large with built in shower. Immaculately clean.
If they hadn't already been full we would have enjoyed a second (unscheduled) night - lovely area and the 'Pig' is central for local attractions.

quaint vintage pub in a quiet village - great bar meals or restaurant style too available. we had really delicious soup and snacks and enjoyed sitting by the fire soaking up the friendly atmosphere. the breakfast staff were outstanding and it’s the best breakfast we’ve had for many years at a B and B - highly recommended - thank you team Black Pig xx Claire, Switzerland

I'm a little late in writing but absolutely wonderful stay here, on a visit for my grandsons birthday the, the lovely staff couldn't do enough to make Ted my dog and me feel at home,..putting some balloons on the table was a lovely touch..
Such a beautiful little place with some great history if you like a read the give Google a go👌..I can't wait to go back in the spring..
Could have done with heating in the room as it was very beginningof December?, I did ask at the bar but wasn't attended..there was a radiator in the room turned on but it was cold to touch..however this didn't stop us having a good night's sleep ..and the room was really well equipped and cosy

Cosy pub downstairs. Service was friendly.
Somewhat isolated. Room a little basic given the price.

Really good food.
Noisey bathroom fan and broken toilet seat.

We experienced serious problems during our journey causing us to arrive HOURS after the latest check-in time. We kept in touch with the manager, Millie, who was an absolute star & she allowed us to check in 'when we could make it'.
The whole place is fabulous ~ but retains a wonderful Kentish country pub feel. All the staff were wonderful, & said they enjoyed working there.
The breakfast was lovely, & very satisfying.
We had travelled from very rural mid-west Wales, to attend our daughter & son-in-law's wedding just outside Canterbury.
The only hiccup, was when, immediately after breakfast, we were unable to take a shower before setting off for the wedding because a main power cable had been taken out [presumably by a tractor], & was not repaired prior to our departure! 😂 😂 😂 It made us feel very at home!
We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending The Black Pig to anyone. It's a wonderful place that we are unable to fault in any way whatsoever.
Absolutely nothing.

Proximity to Dover. Dog friendly.
They should stick to being a pub. Welcome not very friendly, too busy with the locals in the pub. Room very basic (have to lower toilet seat to flush toilet), no room to swing a cat. Nothing especially clean.

Tucked away in a beautiful location. Very friendly staff. Clean rooms with ensuite, wardrobe and draws. Tv, free wifi plus tea and coffee facilities. Served great food and the breakfasts.

Breakfast and dinner was good.
Needs a proper clean inc windows and window sills. Carpet in a shower room is a definite no no.

Islay (my dog) and I were made very welcome from the start. The staff a very friendly and very attentive. In the pub is the village shops - great as I forgot to bring any dog treats! The room was clean and fully stocked with tea coffee etc, and I was surprised how quiet it was, despite being above the pub.
Both mornings I had an excellent full English breakfast, and they provided an extra sausage for the dog! I know the
countryside well in the area, but I still found a couple of new walks to take the dog on. Highly recommend a stay for a relaxing weekend.
Possibly some herb teas in the room.

Beautiful old building with a welcoming bar and adjoining restaurant. Staff very helpful. As we had to leave before breakfast a generous packed lunch was kindly provided to take with us.
Room and bathroom small.
