Ok stay

Location, breakfast, friendly staff

Beds far too soft, like sleeping in a hammock; no air conditioning... In Italy, in July?! Just one fan for 4 beds. Incredibly thin towels. 130 quid for what we got really isn't worth it.

Beautiful ambience and breathtaking views

We recently stayed at Villa Gherardi in Barga, and must say it was a truly wonderful experience. Nestled in the charming village, the hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes walk from the historic center, which is definitely worth a visit! The villa itself is a sight to behold, surrounded by a stunning garden adorned with cozy chairs and tables. The rooms, though simple, are equipped with all the essential amenities. The linen and towels provided were incredibly comfortable, adding to the overall comfort of the stay. What really stood out, was the exceptional staff, who created a welcoming atmosphere throughout. Additionally, the breakfast spread was lovely, offering a wide variety of delicious options to start the day off right. One of the highlights of staying at Villa Gherardi is the magnificent views it offers. Whether from the hotel rooms or the terraces, the vistas are breathtaking, making it an ideal place to relax and soak in the beauty of the surroundings. In summary, I highly recommend Villa Gherardi with its beautiful ambiance and breathtaking views. It's an excellent choice for anyone looking to experience the magic of Barga.

Though no inconvenience or relevant for our stay, it's worth noting that late check-ins (after 19:00) may incur a surcharge.

good value for money and just very warm and friendly atmosphere!

The host was wonderful, spoke perfect English and overall very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was decent, variable and lots of options. the views were very beautiful and the rooms simple, but comfortable and clean.

the WiFi was pretty bad and it was a little noisy in the morning.

Good place to stay when visiting Barga

Grand old mansion with lots of intersting decorations on the walls, fairly large bedrooms, great location for exploring Barga

Warm and very relaxing stay

Location was fabulous with beautiful view over the old medieval town. Bed linen was spotless. Staff were helpful and attentive at breakfast. It was also lovely and warm despite the freezing weather.

The mattress was smaller than the bed and a little uncomfortable. The building is fabulous but would benefit from less clutter in the communal areas.

I enjoyed my short stay. The proprietor was very helpful and friendly.

There was a great choice at breakfast, everything you could possibly want. The location was just at the foot of the old town with a lovely view from my bedroom window. The grounds are nicely kept with large trees for shade. Excellent value for money.

I think the property would benefit from a tea/coffee machine and some snacks for sale as there are no cafes/bars nearby.

lovely room for single person, beautiful view, super convenient location, very helpful and friendly host.

beautiful view, room felt light and airy, balcony to sit out and have breakfast, excellent location, 10 mins walk into new town as well as same for walk into old town. friendly helpful host.

drains were a little smelly sometimes, due I presume to the recent hot weather.

The owner Adele was very helpful and is bilingual English/Italian. The breakfast was plentiful and amazing. The view from our window overlooking the town of Barga was incredible.

Unfortunately the bathroom smelt of damp because there is no window.

Amazing place to stay in beautiful Barga!

I had an amazing stay. The view from the terrace is to die for! The room was spacious and well equipped. The location was amazing. Full breakfast with lots of options. And Adele is a wonderful lady, she was very accommodating and kind. I will definitely stay again!

I can sincerely say that the stay we had at the Villa was perfect. The staff spearheaded by a woman named Adele was outstanding and anybody who stays there will be lucky to be looked after by such a amazing woman. every place we check into should be so impeccable & warm!

The only thing we did not like about the Villa is the fact that we had to leave. there was nothing not to love about our stay.
