Fantastic - every restaurant they suggested was better than the last.

The food was ample, fresh and flavorful.

It is a bit difficult to locate the B&B. Here's my advice; get dropped off on the street where the ferris wheel sits. Look up and you will find the Casa Sul Mare banner on the railing of their rooms. Call your contact number and you will be met. The entrance to the apartments is directly across from the bingo hall on the lower level. If you are dropped off as noted, ascend the stairs and the apartment entrance is in the cross corridor, left side. You must be buzzed in, so call for assistance.

La Casa Sul Mare was recommended to us by friends who had stayed there a few years ago. They spoke so very highly of it and it surpassed our expectations. We had disembarked our cruise ship and were greeted so very warmly early that day. We were able to leave our luggage in their hands until our check-in time of 2 p.m. Loris is the ultimate host! He went beyond the call of duty, walking us to the bank to help us exchange our dollars, recommended restaurants, and even drove us to the airport when our taxi driver could not come for an earlier pickup time! The room is perfectly appointed with the most outstanding view of the ocean from a very roomy terrace. Clean bathroom, totally modern. I believe Loris would do almost anything to meet the needs of his guests. Location is great. It was a very pleasant stay!!

my room had a beautiful balcony facing the ocean. We were leaving on a cruise and this place was only 5 minutes away from the cruise port. The room was spotless and the kitchen was right outside our door. The air conditioner worked great. The kitchen was stocked with almost anything you could think of for breakfast. They also had beer and wine options along with juices and soda pop. Lorise and his staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They directed us to restaurants and other things to see around the city while we were there. I highly recommend this place if your going on a cruise or just visiting for vacation.

The room was a little small but all the extras and staff made up the difference.

A most enjoyable stay in a beautiful clean property. I highly recommend La Casa Sul Mare.

Casa sul Mare is the perfect place to stay pre-cruise. Loris is exceptionally attentive and took care of our transfers, booked an excellent restaurant for us and made us feel most welcome in his beautiful guest house.

Casa sul Mare is a lovely place to stay with friendly and helpful hosts.

We booked a room at Casa sul Mare to be close to the port for our cruise. When we arrived, Lori was there to help us up the few steps with our luggage and then on to the elevator. The guesthouse was on the 3rd floor. Our room was spacious and beautifully furnished, with a balcony with a lovely view of the sea. We were close to the port with several options for restaurants nearby. Lori was especially helpful in arranging our transfer from the airport, and a covid test that was required by our cruiseline. In the morning we had a wonderful breakfast with the other guests staying there, and Lori again arranged for a taxi to take us to the cruise terminal and again helped with the luggage. We could not ask for a better place to stay or more helpful and friendly hosts. I highly recommend the Casa sul Mare!

Great stay with a dedicated owner

The Casa Sul Mare was exceptional in every way. At check in Loris, the owner met us and organised our luggage up to our room and then gave us a personalised briefing on everything from the room to the nearest restaurants and how to get to the cruise port. Nothing was too big or too small. The whole establishment was spotlessly clean with cosy beds and pillows. Breakfast was delicious with generous portions that can be taken on the balcony to enjoy the view of the coast

Excellent B&B

Fabulous B&B. We stayed here twice, either side of a week in Umbria (3 nights in total). Loris & his mother, Rita, were both so welcoming, friendly & helpful, going above & beyond to ensure the best stay possible. Really comfortable, clean & beautifully presented rooms. We stayed in a Superior Studio with Sea View on both occasions, and the large terrace afforded great views of the sea, the port and the promenade. Air-con and efficient blinds were a boon during the very hot weather. The communal breakfast/seating area was well stocked with hot and cold drinks and snacks, available at all times and regularly replenished - a very welcome hub at the centre of the B&B. On the advice of Loris, we walked around the Fortezza Michelangelo and visited the large market with an abundance of local produce. We also discovered a quirky little establishment called Cosamimettooggi lab which served really excellent coffee as well as good food and wine. Loris was also so helpful with our luggage and arranging airport transfers, all of which removed so much stress for us both as older travellers. Civitavecchia offered far more than we had expected, with plenty of different areas to explore. Many people spend a single night before going on a cruise - we really would recommend giving yourself more time to explore this city - and we can only echo previous reviews & highly recommend La Casa Sul Mare as your 1st choice in Civitavecchia. One of the best lodging experiences we’ve ever had!

Rita and Loris are the nicest people you will ever want to meet. They are so helpful with whatever you might need. The breakfast every morning was wonderful !!! The room was absolutely perfect with a lovely view of the sea from the balcony. The entire B & B was spotless, with it being cleaned everyday, including new bedsheets. Perfectly located, you can walk to whatever you like. Surrounded by lots of restaurants and cafes , mostly behind the building where you are staying. This town has been the major port for Rome since the second century, there’s so much history and Roman ruins all over. I wished we lived closer so we could stay here more often. Miss you already, Rita and Loris!!

An exceptional B&B, comfortable and well-located, with excellent hosts.

We had a wonderful stay of four nights at the Casa sul Mare. The room was large, comfortable and ultra-clean and the view of the sea from the balcony was great. The location was perfect, within easy walking distance of cafes and restaurants in this delightful seaside town. Lorris and Rita were exceptionally hospitable and helpful, recommending excellent restaurants and arranging transport to our cruise ship at the end of our stay. They were also invaluable in advising us where to obtain our Covid tests for the cruise. I would highly recommend the B&B to anyone spending time in Civitavecchia, whether for one night or a longer stay.
