Great B&B in Matakohe

Great big room and bathroom; really great to have dinner there. Kauri museum next door and a nice walk down to the old.wharf. Hosts were very friendly.

Ein Standort, um sich den Kauri Bäumen zu widmen

Das House lag fast direkt neben dem Kauri Museum. In der Nähe gab es auch noch einen schönen alten Friedhof. Und man konnte dort herrlich spazieren gehen in der Natur und rund um den See. Das Betreiberpaar war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war ansprechend und ausreichend. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und irgendwie flauschig.

Da Frühstück inklusive war, gab es im Zimmer keinerlei Möglichkeiten, etwas zu kühlen. Wenn man auf einer Rundreise ist, hat man immer einiges, dass man bei anderen Standorten ohne Verpflegung braucht und gerne kaltstellen würde. Es gab einen Kühlschrank für alle Gäste im Gemeinschaftsbereich, das war es aber auch schon.

De ruime kamer met balkon en een heerlijk bed. We konden er lekker eten en de locatie op doorreis van noord via Kauri forest naar zuid, is perfect. Lekker rustig en landelijk.

We had a lovely stay, a delicious dinner and our hosts were fabulous

Our Hosts were lovely. We certainly got looked after by them and nothing was too much trouble.

Ideal for our purposes in taking a break in our journey from the Upper North prior to Waikato.

The room and bedding was comfortable.

It was a rather cold night when we stayed. The lounge and dining area for visitors was comfortable, but it was a big room and some consideration of a heat pump or larger scale heating system could be of value.

A lovely quite stay with very welcoming host to make you feel at home.

Hosts Jackie and Daniel are wonderful. Cooking us dinner that night was a treat and then a delicious brekky the next day was a great way to start our day. They made us feel right at home. To top it off the house is so quiet being off the main road. Loved it!

Hidden Gem

Jackie and Daniel are excellent hosts, who provide a wonderful reception, cooked breakfast and coffee, good conversation if you love a chat is an added bonus and have the availability to cater to your needs on request. For us, it was cooking us a lovely New Years Eve dinner and dessert. Thoroughly enjoyed our impromptu stay at Matakohe House, as we decided to embark on our return journey home a day earlier and thankfully for all a cancellation at Matakohe House. Extremely comfortable and clean and felt like home away from home. We feel as though we have gained a friendship meeting these two lovely people.

Very nice place. Nice host. Good breakfast . Clean accomodation

It is far from any center. Jacky can serve dinner, otherwise buy your own food before arriving. Our stay was off peak season.

Lovely spot, great hospitality.

This was a great location right in town, but still with a nice rural outlook. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the verandah gave additional outdoor space.

No venting in the bathroom, condensation made everything quite wet, but then it was a very damp day so that might be more the reason.
