The food was excellent! Superbly presented very tasty combinations with and Indian twist. Magnificent! Location was a little isolated but superb, very quiet. Very attentive and understanding staff .

So we have stayed many times at Farlam Hall over the past 20 years. However this was the first time we have visited since the new owners have renovated the property. We therefore arrived with some trepidation. We had no need to worry the transformation was outstanding! The staff were welcoming and very attentive and friendly. The food, especially breakfast, was fantastic!
I felt the 550% markup on the pre dinner drinks was excessive. I appreciate there is always a markup on drinks and wine but to be charged £5.50 for a 330cl bottle of Peroni which you can buy in a supermarket for £1.00 is unacceptable. £10.00 for a single measure Gin & Tonic is also a bit OTT!

Fabulous stay, fantastic food, great rooms, service was all first class. Fantastic location to explore the history and walk (a little bit) of Hadrians Wall, and we did it in style, thanks to staff at Farlam Hall.
Nothing, it was great.
4.7
Excellent restaurant and location, lovely building.
No Tea/Coffee in room. Room didn't really have anywhere to put things, most of our stuff ended up on the floor.
4.7
just amazing - staff were incredible, nothing was too much trouble - just what a hotel should be
nothing - everything was perfect

Dinner was divine - and well worth it!
4.7
Excellent helpful welcoming staff
Wonderful restful ambiance. Views from the room were amazing. Grounds and buildings were meticulously maintained
Best and SAFEST shower we had on our 3 week+ trip
We enjoyed walking twice to the nearby Farlam church and cemetary
Hotel was close to Hadrian's Wall which we enjoyed thoroughly on our last day
See our response for the restaurant survey, suggesting some variance of dinner offerings over the three evening we were there. But the food and service were great!
4.7
terrible service at breakfast, if you write that there are fresh croissants, you must serve them as soon as the guests are at the table with the cappucinos, we have to wait 30 minutes as they had to defrost them...also there many flies , they must put mosquitos nets at the windows. this place is not a relais and chateaux, it can be rated as a 3 star hotel

beautiful property and room!
loved it all!

The location , the staff, so lovely and friendly , the gardens were beautiful 👌
The little things , like biscuits served in the room with the tea and coffe compliment is worth doing!

All meals worthy of the two rosettes awarded. Hotel and gardens beautiful, rooms clean, comfortable and quiet, impressive attention to detail, staff professional and friendly. Here the customer was considered king and the focus was clearly on quality and definitely warranted the cost of the stay.
Housekeeping had to be reminded on a few occasions to provide supplies for the room. This was however promptly addressed when we raised our concerns with management.

Amazing hotel, beautiful and perfect location for Northumberland 250 and Hadrian's Wall
4.7
Excellent breakfast
Only comment is that tyhe open kitchen transmits quite a bit of noise into the dining room
4.7
beautifully furnished, excellent staff and fabulous location
food and drink were overpriced (think London costs).
4.7
Great place the staff were great, very clean hotel, very good food.
4.7
Extremely clean and friendly environment. nothing was too much of a hassle.
Our room was quite hot due to the heating on being so hot you couldn’t even touch the radiator. The breakfast was also very minimalistic which we didn’t really expect.
4.7
beautiful hotel with superb staff, very welcoming, amazing food.

lovely hotel lovely location never been to a hotel with such friendly and helpful staff before from greeted us at the door and service brilliant throughout our stay beautifully designed bedroom and fantastic food value for money will definitely go again 😃
there was nothing we didn’t like about the property
4.7
Beautiful hotel, very nicely furnished/decorated. Fresh flowers positioned very nicely throughout the hotel. Incredibly clean with 2 super cosey lounges with a roaring fire as you enter the hotel. Our room was a good size, fresh looking, pristine, fabulous bathroom and super comfy bed. Our room looked out onto the 130 year old Cedar Tree at the front of the hotel. A very relaxed atmosphere but very professional with it. A very lovely breakfast with high end breakfast choices on the menu. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Before our arrival we made a request which was accommodated with no problem at all. Would highly recommend for a very relaxing break or a busy break exploring the gorgeous Lake District and surrounding area.
I expected the hotel to be more remote but this didn't cause a problem at all. The drive out of the hotel to the surrounding areas is lovely and a very relaxed drive through the countryside.

The staff came to the door to meet us and offered to unload our bags, which made us feel really special. We were offered a cuppa on arrival before we checked in, so that we could unwind from our journey.
Absolutely nothing!

Gorgeous building and excellent property, wonderful grounds and beautifully decorated for Christmas. The room was extremely clean, very comfortable, had a great night’s sleep.
The staff was amazing, they went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. George especially was extremely accommodating, pleasant and helpful. The service was exceptional.
Amazing breakfast options to choose from.
I highly recommend this hotel, one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at.
Having an electric car charging port was a plus.
Everything was perfect

The staff at Farlam Hall are outstanding. Nothing is too much trouble and they are very attentive. Not to take away from the lovely spacious room and beautiful bathroom, but the most impressive part of our stay was the restaurant. We ate dinner and breakfast there on both nights and the standard of food was outstanding. This is sophisticated and delicious cooking by a highly skilled chef using local and quality ingredients. The hotel was renovated during the last lockdown and consequently, the furnishings and decoration are all new.
It might be helpful upon arrival to show new guests the downstairs layout as we didn't discover the drawing-room and bar until the second night by accident.
4.7
We liked the room, the food, the location. We drive an electric car, it was good that the hotel had a charger on site. One of the reason we stayed at the hotel was we wanted to visit Hadrian's wall and the hotel was a perfect base to do this.
We were happy with are stay so it would be hard to find fault, going foreword more electric chargers on site would be a good investment.
4.7
Food and meals were of exceptional quality, afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast.
Staff were all very helpful and cheerful.
The refurbishment of the entire hotel under the new owners has taken the experience to a new level, truly justifying Relais and Chateaux status.
The grounds are still work in progress, but will I am confident be completed to a high standard.
4.7
Location was great, staff very friendly.
Breakfast was nice but inconsistent
No hospitality tray
4.7
Location suited
Food good
No toiletries (shower gel, shampoo etc) in the bathroom. No drawers to put clothes in. Lacking in info in the room re the hotel eg WiFi. Understaffed although staff that were there worked hard but were unable to give what attention I would have expected for the price of the hotel. Also no tea/coffee facilities in the room.
