Upon arrival, our first impression was just WOW! We walked in to wood floors, and walls. It was immaculate.
It was like a 5 min drive to downtown and a quick easy walk to Red Cross Beach. Easily fit 2 cars for parking could fit 3. Lake across the street with some good views.
The beds were so soft and comfy. Best night sleep in a long time. The kitchen isn’t built for 2 people to cook together but it was exactly what is needed.
Our children loved the hammock and swing in the yard and used it every chance they could get. The fire pit was also very will loved during our time there.
Having the grill made cooking and prepping so easy. The washer and dryer (while on the smaller side) were amazing! Went home with no dirty clothes. The couch was just as comfy. The kids loved eating at the peninsula.
If we come back up to Moosehead Lake, we would absolutely rent this place again!!

This is a great place to stay! It is small enough to be manageable while large enough to grant space. The fenced in yard was a great boon for my fur baby, we felt good letting her run around freely. It's close to two public beaches, downtown and great hiking. We had some technical difficulties, but we were OK with unplugging so no worries on our end.

The stairs and deck had layers n layers of ice,was not cleaned very well, only had one access point, none of the other doors were cleaned of snow,if had been a emergency it would have been a nightmare to get out,

Overall impression is pretty good. Very nice newly paved road to walk on with some pretty nice summer homes. Owner was there to help out with the TV. This place has plenty of beds to sleep in although the space is tight. Pine interior is pretty new. TV's were a bit complicated to figure out. Instructions would help.

Property was comfy, cozy, and clean. Great experience. Would highly recommend.

It was a wonderful cabin. It was originally a house trailer but we wouldn’t know it from the inside. The walls are not a pine. The cabinets are knotty pine is cross the pine scent of Maine. All utensils and appliances were perfect. The bed was very comfortable memory foam with an additional topper. we rent VRBO all over the country and I would highly recommend this place. Denise and Jim came over to visit and they are wonderful people. We really enjoyed them. We are Seaplane Pilots and come to Greenville every year. This is the first time we stayed with Denise and Jim and we are already booking for next year. What a hidden gem this was! I would highly recommend this place for anyone. Denise and Jim also have a few more rentals next-door and just down the road if you have a bigger party.

The addition of the fenced in yard made this stay so much better than before as we could let the dogs run around outside with us. We also loved the new ceiling fans in the kitchen and bedroom. Great add!

Cute place, Denise remedied all situations that arose.

Great spot! Fenced in yard for my pup. Couldn't be happier!

Great location, perfect for dining, outdoors and family… kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes .
Washer and dryer were small- would recommend laundromat instead but good for very small loads .
Denise was very accommodating and helpful.

Not sure where to start. The owner seems to have responded to previous reviews and there is now a nice couch and the stools in the kitchen are now easier to sit in. The floor is still in need of complete repair. They have tried to cover up some areas with plywood and thick rugs but the majority of the trailer needs the floor completely re-built. I’m surprised no one mentioned the holes in the ceiling from the leaking roof but there are several small holes in the bathroom ceiling that need repair but only after the roof is repaired. Please be aware that all of the smoke detectors were dismantled prior to our stay and the owners did tell us there was l one that worked tucked on top of the refrigerator. However it didn’t really work that great. This turned out to be one of the most concerning issues of our stay. The wood stove is there for renters to use- they even provided firewood. However, the wood stove isn’t safe to use. We almost had a chimney fire while we were there and the entire house filled with thick smoke in the middle of the night. My dog woke me up as none of the smoke detectors were functional. I am not a first time user of a wood stove. I use one to heat my own house and have grown up only using wood heat. The wood stove needs to be inspected and cleaned by a professional. Upon further investigation we decided to only rely on the furnace for the last day we were there. The temperature was well below zero outside and the inside temperatures ranged from 50- 65. When concerns were made to the owner, she did send the oil company to inspect the furnace who made adjustments but commented that it had a crack somewhere in the heating element. So if the trailer doesn’t burn down while you are staying here there is a possibility that you will experience carbon monoxide poisoning. I highly recommend you bring your own smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors if you end up staying here. I’m actually surprised this rental has past any code inspections. I have family in Greenville and visit often and if this is the only place available when you are booking your trip, just don’t it’s not a safe place to stay.

It was pouring down rain when we arrived at the trailer, all the windows were wide open and the back door was open as well, that should have been out first clue of what was to come. We went in through the front door and the smell hit us, moldy and musty, and that was with the windows open. We closed the windows and tried to close the front door but it wouldn't close or lock. We called Denise and told her our issue with the door, her first response was "just slam it" and her second response was "its a safe place you really don't need to lock your doors here". We did not agree with that approach so she sent a handyman over (he was a pleasant man), he pulled out his chisel and got to work, the door did lock after his repair. After looking around the trailer we found some of the source of the smell which was the sliding glass door track was submerged in water and had mold growing in it, the kitchen floor was sagging, when I picked up the rug to see what was going on with the floor I discovered several earwigs . Earwigs are nocturnal biting insects and that was the final straw for us. We contacted Denise and told her we were leaving and requested a refund for our stay, we did agree to pay one day and a cleaning fee because we did enter the trailer, Denise agree to this arrangement on 8/7/2021 957 pm when we departed.
Today 8/28/2021 I called Denise to see why the refund was not made, she called me a liar, told me the house was "adorable" and had "no smell", the earwigs are seasonal bugs and that they only arrived the day before our arrival, and that she was not obligated to refund our money.
After reading several other poor reviews (after the fact), I can tell you that the people who gave a negative review of this place are spot on. Denise is quick to blame you and tell you "you expect too much" or "there is nothing that I can do to make you happy, you already decided you didn't like the place" and "if you wanted something luxurious this is not the place for you".
I told Denise we were to going to submit a negative review to which she responded "go ahead I will just post my opinion"... so stay tuned for Denise to chime in...
We have used VRBO many times through the years and have never had an issue like this one, be wise and do not rent a place you can not see from the road on a google map.

My family rented this home for the Derby Weekend. House is small and served the purpose of a warm shower and a place to lay your head. We were notified of a leak that made the floors soft two days before we left to drive the 6 hours. I was afraid of the parking situation but there was plenty for our truck trailer and my small sUV. The only bad that I could say is the house was not well stocked. We had 2 trash bags for 4 days I had to go buy trash bags because 2 just would not cut it. The water in the shower was just barely warm but still better than no shower or a cold one at that. Even with those two things we would still come back. It was a easy to access the lake with the snowmobile.

Place was clean. Porches really need boards and rails replaced Some were done put others not. Floors in kitchen really soft. All bottom of outside doors bad. If they did repairs and change out coach and bars stools. Place would be great. I would stay again if thing were up to date.

Comfortable!
Quiet. Warm. Great neighbors.
Everything you need is there.

It was a nice quiet home and near everything
Had a great time but if the living room was more comfortable. Need a couch instead of a futon. The bar needed better stools. Other than that it was good.
4.4
Don't do it!
Trailer you get to behind an old dilapidated garage and all you can see from deck is dilapidated roof. Owner showed me alternative and it was a dingy studio apt. So I didn't get my money back because of alternative offer. Total rip off.

Not what we expected from the pictures and write-up
I was thrilled when I found this property online but looks were definitely deceiving. The pictures and description of amenities were from a much earlier time. When we arrived we found a falling down fence, over-grown lot and a rotting porch. No garden or outdoor furniture to speak of. The picnic table was painted black to hide more rotting wood. Once we got inside things didn’t get any better. A stove had been added, taking up a quarter of the”living and dining” space. The futon left about a foot to exit the front bedroom and the table made it difficult to make your way down the hall. Definitely a fire hazard along with 2 non-working smoke detectors. The owner did drop off a working smoke detector and we were able to fix one. But I digress, our first problem happened when we tried to get onto the internet. We couldn’t locate the password and couldn’t get online to locate the owners information. We finally called VRBO and they assisted us in locating the owner. The had difficulty because one phone number was disconnected and the other went to voice mail which was full. When the owner did call back she was annoyed to be disturbed on her vacation and begrudgingly had a neighbor help us. I could go on and on about what was wrong or misleading about the pictures and descriptions of the property (I had a list of 23) but I feel this property should be inspected before it is rented to anyone else. It might have been lovely once but now it’s a dump.
