Clean and comfortable. It's a little far from some of the places people might want to be, but easy enough to make your way. The staff are helpful although not always completely conversant in a language other than German. The restaurant is good. It's a very nice spot.
I really had no issues during my stay.

Good parking. Close to tram and the Altstadt. Friendly staff. The balcony was a plus. Cute bathroom decor.
Beds could be firmer.

Exceptionally clean, good location, very cosy and warm.Really greatful they allowed me to check in 3 hours earlier.
Small fridge in room would ve very helpful.Security should be improved as the back entrance is not monitored at all times i.e. has CCTV,but nobody monitors the door really and I encountered with a man who had seemingly just walked in and clearly had mental health issues.Although all he was doing was standing at the window in the staircase on the 2nd floor laughing and watching me while I unlocked my door,it was very unpleasant and left me terrified.I tried to ring the staff from my room on the number provided on booking.com 4 times, nobody answered as likely busy in restaurant (they have no receptionist, the restaurant people are kinda also supposed to mind the pension guests).Luckily the following days I did not see this man anymore. As I learned the back door remains open 24/7.Once the restaurant below closes,no staff remain in the building.I guess there should be some swipe/key fob system arranged to avoid random people from entering.

We had an excellent 'lava cake' dessert in the attached restaurant after we came back from a walk and dinner in town. And the ability to make hot water for tea in the room was a nice perk.

The hotel/restaurant is located relatively close to the center of Freiburg. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the waiters very friendly. My room was simple but had all I needed for one night stay. The bed was very comfortable. In the room was a water boiler for coffee or tea. The quality of the tea was good. A place I will stay again.

The place is a bit deceptive as the facade and the immediate entrance didnt inspire confidence. Small but comfortable rooms with a balcony too, which was quite nice.
Breakfast is so-so. but we tried the dinner there on one of the nights. The quality of the food is nice.

The room was nice, we were given a second floor room with balcony, bright, spacious, and clean room. The room comes with Air/Con, which I found unusual there, but for us was a plus, considering that we visited the city during a heat wave.
Bed was comfy with a window on top, so you could sight-see stars when going to sleep, perfect for relax after a busy day.
Great thing to consider is that they have free parking on the place, it is free to use for both the hosts of the accommodation and the restaurant ones, so at times, it can get busy and hard to park.
If you consider the prices of accommodation around the city, the place has a great price/quality relation, so it's worth the stay if you are about to visit the city.
Location, even though is a bit long walking distance to the city center, around 25 min walking, the place has many restaurants around, University, bus stops, so it is well located.
After our stay, I got the impression that the main business is the restaurant, so I didn´t got the impression of being well hosted, everyone was busy by the restaurant so the treat we receive was... scarce... to access the rooms you enter by a door that gets next to the kitchen, and you realise that everyone is rushing out so you try not to bother them. Also when asking to the staff, you realise that many are students working for the restaurant and so they don't know how to manage both restaurant and accommodation.
We decided to give a try to the restaurant ( they don't give you any voucher, nor benefit for the restaurant being a guest), and we realise that there was a lot of people behind the counter but just one waiter for the tables during breakfast time. Maybe we choose a bad moment, but It surprised me that the waiter had no help in the frontline.

Very nice place with a great restaurant and location right next to the tram stop. Easy to get to, very nice rooms and a great breakfast. Friendly staff in friendly neighborhood.

The room had nice and large windows. The beds were comfy and you’ll find everything you need within walking distance.
Our stay was definitely not what we expected from an 8+ rated hotel. The lights in the bathroom did work at all, so we had to use a flashlight. We told staff immediately and left for the day. When we returned, the lights were still non-function and the new staff member apparently did not even know about it. Then they told us the facility manager was not available due to the weekend… We weren’t offered anything to compensate for our troubles. Try taking a shower or taking out your contacts in the dark, it’s definitely not an 8+ rated experience.

Lovely, quiet, comfortable room. Staff very helpful and welcoming. We ate downstairs in the restaurant and enjoyed our meal. It was also good to have free parking. There was no problem leaving the car there the day we checked out while we went for a walk around the city.
The weather ;-) , unfortunately beyond the hotel's control.
