A lovely, comfortable stay with warm and welcoming hosts in a beautiful spot.

The house is in a superb location - across the road from the beach and right on the SW coast path. Chris and Jane are lovely, friendly and welcoming hosts and went out of their way to accommodate us. We stayed in the king/twin room which has a fabulous sea view - and we had a very comfortable night's sleep. It was lovely to have fresh milk for tea in the room, rather than UHT cartons. Breakfast was very hearty and cooked fresh to order - you just choose your breakfast time and what you'd like to eat the evening before. We ate at the Dolphin Inn, a five minute walk away in the village - great food and reasonably priced. It's an old house with quirky (but beautiful!) decor. If you're after a clinical and minimalist aesthetic, it may not be for you. But if you appreciate good food, comfort and a warm welcome in a lovely spot, then it's perfect!

Bedside lamps weren't really good enough to read by - but who cares?! After a day walking the Coast path, you just want to sleep anyway.

Seaview from our room, excellent breakfast and Mike's very warm and genuine welcome "there's only one rule, make yourself at home'". When we mentioned that we planned to go for a quick swim, he very kindly lent us a couple of dryrobes - this kind of nothing-too-much-trouble approach is hard to find and really set the tone for our whole visit

Night from hell.

Nothing. Tried to bill me TWICE. OVERCHARGED BY £30 too.

No one in on arrival. No key. No instructions. Turned up at midnight. Owners had locked me up. Had to ring doorbell (Silent, only goes to owner). Came out threatening me and tried to make me go away. Luggage has been tampered with.

Such a lovely place to stay - both location and house, with a lovely peaceful room overlooking the beach. The host, Christopher, was friendly and helpful, and equally respectful of space. I was easily made to feel at home.

A very good place to relax, and Chris is one cordial host.

Breakfast was all you could eat and well cooked, our room was large and a lot of thought had gone into the decor, and the sea view was amazing.

Eclectic, quirky and homely

Newberry Beach Lodge is a true gem. The house is beautifully quirky and a stone's throw from the beach. We were welcomed very warmly and stayed in room 4, which is on the second floor. There was nobody else staying on that floor, so it was very quiet except for the sound of the sea. The room had a sea view and was beautifully decorated. The bathroom was fabulous with a victorian style bath tub and colourful wallpaper. Breakfast was amazing and there was time to chat to fellow guests. The host was very knowledgeable about the area and happy to give advice on where to go for the day, where to eat etc. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely return here next time we visit the area.

The bed was a little soft for me.

Great rooms with a really comfy bed. Amazing location with a path directly down to the beach. The breakfast was brilliant, loads of choice and very very tasty, we didn't need lunch!

Parking a bit tight, but it's really no big hassle at all.

Comfy , cozy and too short

A warm welcome after a long day walking. Tea and biscuits along with taking care of our rain drenched clothes and boots. Room was great, comfy bed and walk in ensuite. With the bonus of an aging view of sea. Very nice breakfast and nothing touch trouble. If you are after a comfy, cozy B&B , with hosts that make you feel part of the family, then this is the one for you !

Perfect break right next to the beach, we would book again, Mickey & Bea.

Hosts, the breakfasts, the room, and the two lovely dogs Pablo and poacher, the guest house is easy walk into town and right by the beach, parking right outside and if that was full there was plenty of roadside parking.

Perfect place to unplug and relax

Superb location, the bay is literally on the doorstep. A few minutes walk from the South West Coast Path, beautiful scenery. The hosts couldn’t be friendlier and more helpful, also we had fabulous breakfast. Very comfortable beds, perfect for a good sleep after trekking all day. Definitely highly recommended!

if you’re looking for something a little different, this place has it. bright and colourful and full of imagination. the hosts cannot do enough for you. super generous breakfast in gorgeous setting. the hosts Chris and Jane are the perfect welcome after a long days walk. ooh nearly forgot the luxury bath!
