The owners are fabulous! Anything you need - they make it happen. Wonderful personality too. The chateau is a legit 17th century building. So much history!
I wish I’d asked for a tour!

Our last stop in our week trip to France and we had such a lovely time. The hotel is run by a couple who have dedicated their passion for retaining the history of this lovely chateau. The accommodation is comfortable and an experience not to be forgotten, the large room was airy, and even during the very hot weather we had during our stay, the room was cool by the evening so sleeping was not an issue. The special nightly sounds from the bull-frogs and frogs lulled us to sleep. The bed was very comfy and the breakfast sublime. Very friendly hosts who booked us a table at a seafood restaurant in Grandcamp-Maisy on our first night. An excellent location to visit the Normandy coast and historic beaches.
Everything was lovely

A great place for a getaway from city life. This is a good base to visit Bayeux. We had the most unforgettable breakfast here during our France trip. Couldn't find a better breakfast elsewhere. Room and beds were comfortable. Room had everything that we needed. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Wish we could stay longer!

Our family loved our stay at the Chateau. Upon arrival we were amazed by the beautiful chateau and then created by the owner who was friendly and helpful. The owners made our stay on their property feel comfortable and relaxed. Our children loved playing with the dog Newton and running around in the yard as the adults relaxed. It was very quiet and peaceful. The Wi-Fi worked well and our showers had good hot water and pressure. Our favorite part was breakfast every morning. Ot was delightful and delicious. We would definitely come back again!

Our family really enjoyed our stay, it's a beautiful home in a beautiful location. Carl is an exceptional host! We highly recommend this lovely Chateau!

Excellent room, friendly owner, great breakfast. Lovely location.
Would have liked a bit more guidance on using outdoor facility to sit in later evening. i.e. You have access to the sitting area out back, enjoy a coffee/tea or drink of wine.

Carl Engstrom was a fabulous host who also served up the most delicious and bountiful breakfast each day! The 1643 built Chateau was quite amazing to be staying at. Only wish was that bathroom had a real standup shower instead of the hose attachment on the tub but we understand trying to keep the rooms in historical configuration. Also, Carl’s wife (can’t remember her name) was very nice and helpful and Winston

Peaceful environment, great setting, convenient for the landing beaches.
Lovely breakfast served in a splendid dining room.
Sabine the lady of the house made us feel very welcome and saw to all our needs.
What's not to like!

Location to D-Day beaches and memorials was perfect. Also a luxury to stay in a castle with beautiful furnishings and a 1st class breakfast.

What a dreadful experience - a mixture of three themes - Rocky Horror, Faulty Towers and Dirty Homes.
Firstly, the host refused a reasonable request to check in between 4pm and 5pm, citing his need to "prepare the room" and we could only check in at 6pm. As it turns out, this obnoxiously rude host did not "prepare the room" I documented the filthy state of the room, only one bed been made instead of the two we paid for, the toiletries consisted of one empty yellowish soap container in the sink and one unlabelled bottle of white liquid in the shower, some earbuds and toilet paper. Utterly pathetic by youth hostel standards.
Because this obnoxious Dane refused our check in before 6pm, we were left to fend for ourselves for dinner, which we did at a really good local restaurant called Le Trot. We arrived at the house at 9pm, and the obnoxious Dane's first words to us: It would have been nice if you had phoned to tell us you were arriving do late. So we explained that due to his ridiculous check in time we had to search the area for something to eat. He responded: well it is Sunday - what do you expect? My wife tried to lighten the already poisoned welcome and remarked that we had been through lots of rain en route to the venue, his response was as unpleasant as his existence and house: well it is November - what do you expect. Ok, so it turns out this host has a Basil Fawlty - esq character and demeanour, except there is nothing mildly funny or entertaining about the man, besides his pretentiousness.
We were frog-marched to a small dingy room with two small double beds.
obnoxious host, misleading advertising ( only one bed made), dirty and filthy rooms, no Covid measures - the owner is a conspiracy junkie. no Wi-Fi and no info given

It was a pleasure to stay in the Chateau. The owner welcomed us and the hospitality was very high. The personal service, the breakfast and the characteristic Chateau was magnificant. The owner gave us good advice which places to visit and recommended us also the restaurants. If you want to have an exclusive stay the Chateau is great! Also for kids. If we go back to Normandië, we will definitly stay again in the Chateau.
