The carriage house is a charming place to spend time with the family and get away from work and school routines. Gary and Carolyn are lovely hosts who go out of their way to make your stay special. Come here to unplug from devices and reconnect with each other. We recommend it highly!

This was the second time we stayed at the carriage house, and we enjoyed it as much as the first time. The house is charming and beautifully decorated. There is everything you need, and Gary and Carolyn could not have been nicer and more helpful. Inside and out, the house and yard are.peaceful and relaxing. Tue location is near the beach and restaurants. We would happily stay there again.

The house is very clean and comfortable with thoughtful amenities, like a clothesline for swimsuits out back. Great location--convenient to all of the places we wanted to check out. Gary and Carolyn are lovely hosts.

Staying at the carriage house was just what my family needed to de-stress for a week on Cape Cod. It was charmingly decorated and very clean inside, and we had plenty of space to spread out. The location was very convenient to multiple beaches and other attractions; we never spent too much time in the car. And Gary and Carolyn were gracious hosts who made us feel comfortable and even loaned us some bikes to use.
Highly recommend this property!

We spend a week in August in this unique, charming house in South Dennis. Loved the experience and would highly recommend it. The hosts (Gary and Carolyn) were fantastic!

Gary and Carolyn are the perfect hosts! They are engaging, extremely helpful with a wealth of information; we all enjoyed getting to know them socially. They provide a lovely charming carriage house, will all the amenities necessary for a wonderful Cape Cod vacation. The carriage house is extremely comfortable and located close to shopping, dinning and bars, beaches, rail trail and tennis. My husband and 2 adult boys all said this was the perfect vacation spot! We hope to return next summer!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed staying at the carriage house which was tastefully decorated and full of charm. The hosts were welcoming and took care of all of our needs. The house is very close to kayak rentals on the river, the bike trail, and quite close to beaches. We took excursions to Martha's Vineyard, Provincetown, the Audubon Wildlife sanctuary and so the house was perfectly located for our trip to Cape Cod!

This was our first trip to Cape Cod and we loved it – and we really enjoyed this house! Gary and Carolyn have obviously gone to great lengths to make it welcoming and they take great care of it. All necessities provided, beach chairs and an umbrell; a couple of bikes to ride on the local trails; even bedding and towels (not provided by may houses in the area we looked at). They also just added a deluxe hammock out front and there's a badminton net and more. My wife and two teen+ daughters had a fun and relxing stay here. I'd totally recommend it!

A Five Star Get-A-Way!
Our family of four can not thank Gary & Carolyn enough for an amazing stay in their beautiful carriage house filled with an abundance of unique character!
Our week was filled with exceptionally warm hospitality including towels tied with ribbons, fresh flowers in vases, cleanliness galore and a quaint, quiet location.
Gary and Carolyn welcomed any questions and thoughtfully answered.
From our hearts to yours...we are grateful for your kindness and the memories we have on your property at the Cape!

Great Experience
This was our first time using a vacation rental website, and we could not have been more impressed by the property and the owners. Gary and Carolyn are the nicest people, they went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay and were so nice to our daughter. The Carriage House was clean, comfortable, fully stocked with anything you'll need for cooking, the beach, etc. Next time that I'm in Cape Cod this is where I'll be staying, I hope it's available!

Wonderful Stay
Gary and Carolyn were very nice hosts. Good communication and helpful.
The bikes were high quality, and my husband and I enjoyed riding the Cape Cod Rail Trail, which is just a mile or so from the house.
It was very quiet in the cozy carriage house, wonderful for sleeping. The kitchen had everything I needed to prepare meals, and the grocery store was a quick two mile drive. (7-11 is a 5 minute walk.)
The weather was mostly in the mid-70’s during our stay, but they have high-end A/C units, which would be a big plus in hotter weather. Wi-fi worked well.
An easy 5 minute walk from their house is Cape Cod Waterways, where we rented kayaks and meandered the river. We ate more calories than we burned, because across the street from the kayak place are Honey Dew Donuts and Kreme and Kone (seafood and ice cream).
Mayflower and Chapin beaches in North Dennis are very, very lovely. It’s great that the carriage house has beach towels, chairs, umbrella - even toys - to use.
West Dennis beach is less scenic, in my opinion, but still nice. It is closer to the house and has good sand for walking (1 mile long). I noticed many walkers when we were there.
Thanks!

History and Hospitality
The carriage house offered everything we needed for our vacation. It is lovingly decorated and conveniently located. We loved exploring the area and appreciated using the bikes that the owners provided. Gary and Carolyn were gracious hosts, offering wonderful suggestions to enjoy local art and food. After active days, we enjoyed cooking on the grill and found the kitchen well-stocked with pots, pans, dishes, and utensils. The size and lay-out were ideal for our group of four. If you are seeking a tranquil setting in a residential neighborhood, we recommend this property. An ice cream shop is a short walk away.

Carriage House is perfect, look no further
My husband, 6 year old daughter and myself were fortunate enough to spend a wonderful week in this little piece of heaven on earth.I will preface this by saying this was our 6th VRBO rental and by far our favourite. In the planning stages 7 months before, Gary was most helpful and patient answering our many questions and giving us very useful pointers.
When we arrived, the Carriage House exceeded our already incredible expectations. The place is very clean and nicely appointed with everything one could possibly need. Knowing our daughters age, Gary went the extra mile and put kid-friendly decorative pillows in the second bedroom for her which was a lovely gesture and one she loved.
We found the neighborhood peaceful and quiet but were only home evenings as we spent our days exploring the many fabulous sights Cape Cod has to offer.
The location of the house is very central, close to supermarkets and restaurants alike but away from any traffic. We went all over and found the distances very doable.
Our week long stay was perfect from beginning to end. Gary was a wonderful host and very attentive, checking in that we were comfortable and had what we needed.
He made some great suggestions for restaurants and sight seeing that our research hadn't turned up.
We would return to the Carriage Hous in a heartbeat and recommend it without hesitation to anyone looking to visit this unique area.

An Absolutely lovey and charming Carriage House. The same as Gary the owner, both gracious & kind.
The Carriage House was built around 1860, according to Gary our amazing and interesting host, beautifully restored and updated with everything you would need for 7 days of relaxation and fun. The carriage house is decorated with many pieces from local artists including our host Gary's own amazing, unique and beautiful works of art and sculptures. The bathrooms were clean and nicely decorated. The large combined living room and dining room was wonderful for reading a good book ( of which Gary has many on the bookshelf upstairs), taking a nap, playing one of the family games stored under the bench or doing a challenging puzzle. There is no TV which is GREAT for motivating sprited discussions and rediscovery of how to talk with each other. The stone patio and dining table with comfy chairs was wonderfully relaxing with all the candles whether BBQing or cooling in the kitchen and eating outside. The outdoor clothes line gave our drying clothes that wonderful fresh air aroma we remembered when we were kids. There were bikes, beach chairs, a rolling cooler and even a beach umbrella..,..everything you would need for a day at one of the beuatufull beaches only minutes away. Last but not least there is Grigio a very handsome, well mannered and friendly giant Weimaraner. What a wonderful dog. Can't say enough about our world traveler artist host Gary who really made our vacation complete. Thank you Gary we hope to see you again!! All the Best, Mary Ellen, Manny, Madeline and Sophie

We spent a week at this beautiful cottage It is exactly as described, serene and charming.
This is the perfect Cape vacation home. Gary is a wonderful host and we enjoyed getting to know him and his wonderful dog Grigio. The house is decorated beautifully and has everything you need for your visit to the Cape. There is a lot to do in Dennis including, great beaches, the Cape Cod museum of art, restaurants, amazing yoga studio and shops. We will definitely be back next year!

Super week at The Carriage House Denis
We had a really super week in Cape Cod at this very centrally located property in Denis. It's not far from the main road down from Boston, is easy to find, has all the shops, restaurants, etc that you may require very close by. The house itself is really full of charm, very well kitted out with everything you might need - the beach chairs and towels were particularly well used!! Having 2 bathrooms with showers was particularly useful, especially when travelling with teenage daughters.... There was plenty of space for us to spread out, and the patio area outside was very nice for a quiet breakfast while waiting for above mentioned teenagers to get up!
Last, but definitely not least we would like to mention our superb host Gary - he was so welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed. Gary gave us loads of information about the Cape and local area and lots of tips to make our stay so enjoyable - a really super, interesting gentleman! And finally Grigio, our big new friend - bounded over to say hello every morning and to get an ear scratch, he became our surrogate pet for the week!!
Great house, great location and great host - enjoy!!

Perfect location
The Carriage house was a perfect base to discover the Cape due to its central position. Gary the owner was always on hand to help with any queries and the Carriage House itself was very comfortable.
In a quiet location it provided a haven following our travels, there is no TV or cable so you have to be prepared to switch off from the rat race, although there is WiFi if you wish to connect.
Shops are short drive away as are eating houses if you feel like eating out.
Hopefully for future visits Gary can install cable as an option for those who wish to watch TV.

Perfectly delightful
Our stay at the Carriage House was all we had hoped for and more. We chose this particular rental because the place looked charming and the owners seemed a perfect match for us. We were quite an international group of six: 4 adults and 2 pre-teens; a mix-and-match of Italians, Spaniards and Americans. The owners: Gary, an artist and educator, and Ginny, a writer, have traveled extensively both in Italy and Spain, which made for great conversation every time we crossed paths. As an artist myself, I also enjoyed immensely being surrounded by tasteful décor and great artwork during my stay.
The Carriage House is a warm, lovely retreat in pristine condition. Every detail in it reflects the care and love with which this old building was restored and appointed. Wherever you look, functional comfort meets History and beauty.
The location is close to many places of interest in Cape Cod, and Gary and Ginny gave us wonderful tips on Beaches, dinning and possible day-excursions. Consequently, we were always on the go. One morning, though, I decided to have some “me time”- to recharge my so-called batteries- and I was able to enjoy some quiet reading time lying under the shady trees, while the others got a few shades darker at the beach.
To top this perfect vacation with a Great Finale, Ginny and Gary played perfect hosts and treated us to a wonderful afternoon get-together in their patio, where we enjoyed a most delicious lunch made by Ginny.
This will not be our last visit to the Carriage House. There are still many topics of conversation that we didn’t have the time to bring up at the table. I’m sure we’ll get to those next year!

Superb
My husband, two teenage daughters and I are from Holland and spent the last week of our one month USA tour at the carriage house. After driving around in a camper for two weeks before, it was wonderful to stay in this comfortable and beautiful place. Gary and Ginny are great hosts, helping with all kinds of tips & information. Probably the nicest holiday home we ever had (and we've rented quite a few)!

Wonderful!
We were two adults and two teenage boys and stayed for a week at the carriage house. The place, the house and the landlords, - everything was great! The house was spotless, clean with fresh flowers, we couldn't have asked for more!

A home away from home
We spent 4 weeks at this wonderful location. Great position from which to explore the Cape. We travelled all over the cape from Provincetown to Woods Hole and everywhere in between.
You could not possible get more friendly, helpful and accommodating hosts than Gary and Ginny. We feel like we have made friends for life. Their assistance in identifying areas that we would like to explore, even off the Cape, was invaluable. We also visited Boston for a Red Sox game, Providence RI and Westport RI during our stay - all within an easy drive. It was always lovely to come home to the beautiful and comfortable carriage house at the end of the day.
Thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable. We hope to see you again soon.

Fantastic Location and Beautifully presented
The coach house immediately got the thumbs up from my wife on arrival (who is extremely fussy!) It was tastefully decorated, well equipped and very comfortable for our family of 4 (including 2 teenagers). Garry and Ginny were very welcoming and helpful hosts. You can't get better than West Dennis as a perfect base to explore all the parts of Cape Cod with the beautiful North and South coast beaches and plenty of eating places close by. We managed: Hyannis, Provincetown, Chatham and Falmouth with ease. This was our first visit to Cape Cod and we didn't want to leave - we will definitely be back!

Simply wonderful
This charming cottage was everything we expected and more! Our gracious hosts provided wonderful accommodations for our family of 5, fully equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms with plenty of soft towels, comfortable beds and linens and even fresh flowers upon our arrival. The location was ideal for us, allowing for an easy commute to Provincetown, Chatham, Hyannis, as well as Falmouth, depending of what we wanted to do each day. Of course, beautiful Dennis beaches were only 2 min away for the lazy days we enjoyed. Thank you for the wonderful stay and we hope to visit again!

A Perfect Spot
This is a beautiful old carriage house, lovingly restored by such cordial and helpful owners who greeted us with a chilled bottle of wine! In addition to being immaculate, the carriage house is filled with many original pieces of artwork, including sculptures by Gary. Ginny provided beautiful fresh flower arrangements and one afternoon treated us to her fabulous Blueberry Charlotte. If you like kayaking, this place is located between 2 wonderful rivers. We have recommended this place to so many friends that we are concerned that when we go to rent again, it will be filled up!

Exceptional character and quality
We stayed for the second week of our two week vacation in the USA. The Carriage House is a lovely retreat, which has been very well restored by Gary and Ginny in the grounds of their main house. As a couple, we had plenty of space and the main rooms are of an excellent size - the cottage has been equipped with all of the things you would need to enjoy a family holiday, regardless of the weather. Beach gear, large barbecue, outdoor dining and even a hammock!
The property must be one of the oldest on Cape Cod and has many of the earlier features despite being modern inside. It is well situated in the middle of the Cape, allowing easy access to any of its towns and villages within an hour or so by car. Within a 3 minute drive you have all of the essential stores that you would need plus some good places to eat.
We would recommend the property as suitable for couple and families alike. Gary and Ginny provided a number of great recommendations on everything from local restaurants to travel options out to the islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard.
A big thank you to Gary and Ginny for being such great hosts. The chilled bottle of local wine and fresh flowers, waiting for us on arrival, were just two of many special touches.

A week at the Carriage House
The Carriage House was described as a serene and charming artist's retreat and it most certainly was. From the moment we arrived we were thrilled by the location, the lovely furnishings and the facilities in and outside the property. From the welcoming flowers, our hospitable, helpful and informative hosts to our explorations of a delightful area, the holiday was superb. The history of the house was very interesting as was the history of the area. We had a wonderful holiday- and would love one day to return.
