I stayed in the Sand room. Comfortable bed, fun decor, and clean room with a little mini fridge and AC unit. Luis was attentive and friendly, and Maria accommodated my dietary needs (vegetarian, gluten free). Breakfast on the rooftop was such a perk with something new each day. There are three beautiful and friendly dogs. Excellent location close to the water taxi station. Easy to find with the instructions in the email.
No major dislikes/issues. Wi-Fi was spotty sometimes. Would have been nice to have a microwave in the room (but you can ask to heat up food if needed in the main house). No hangers or drawers for clothes.

Everything! Each morning we had a different hot breakfast served on the rooftop patio under a palapa. Every breakfast was delicious and the coffee is served in your own carafe! From the palapa, we had a great view of the ocean on both sides! Luis and Maria are amazing hosts, chefs and sources of information on anything you have questions about. Brian, the owner, is also a super-nice and helpful person and all three of them made us feel right at home. They were even patient enough to help us with our Spanish as we're trying to learn this beautiful language. The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable and the very quiet AC was a much-appreciated feature. Each suite has a lovely private patio too. The hosts have large but incredibly gentle and quiet dogs who made our stay even more enjoyable. This is a bed & breakfast in the true and best sense: You feel right at home, breakfast is excellent, it's very comfortable, quiet, yet in the best location within easy walking distance to everything on the island. The wifi is superior (better then we have at home) so I was able to work online in realtime with zero problem. We even watched a community soccer game or two from the palapa.
Nothing.

Beautiful property and an amazing staff. Everyone went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome.

The place is a lovely hut with all basics you need. It’s just a few minutes walk from the major restaurants street and the pier. They also have a very nice roof top place for breakfast. We were particularly impressed by the owner(?) the day we check out we have to leave at 6am for the 6:30 ferry. He offered to prepared us some fruits and coffee on the table outside our room at 5:30am!
There’s a few doggies by the owner in the shared space some of them are big but all are very friendly!

The breakfast was the best food we had on the island! It was a little tricky to find the spot at first but the location was within walking distance to everything which was awesome. Luis was super nice and even made breakfast for us early on our last day so we could have something before we had to catch our water taxi.
It was just a little tricky to sleep sometimes if you are a light sleeper because of some bird noises. It is also right by a soccer field so they got loud sometimes but never late where it would affect sleeping.

- Very kind & chill staff
- Fast WiFi. I could watch Netflix / YouTube without a problem
- Very close (5 min walk) to the water taxi port
- Breakfast was good, something different everyday
- Cute - sweet dogs :)
- Clean room, enough towels, amenities etc.
- Enough privacy
That we couldn’t stay longer… we will be back for sure!

We loved the location, and the staff was great. Absolutely perfect stay and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Location was unique and one of the coolest places we’ve stayed in all our travels
Nothing - it was a great stay!

Close to everything, yet tucked away from the busyness. Delicious breakfast offerings. Hosts responded very quickly to our inquiries and made sure we were comfortable during our short stay. The dogs on property were friendly, yet kept a watchful/ protective eye on passersby.

Yocamatsu is a sweet little B&B tucked in along a side street in a very convenient location. We could walk to any of the restaurants within 5-10 minutes and could also walk up to the Split within 5-10 minutes. The place itself was cute. It's not a big room but it was fine for us. There was a little front porch and we were served breakfast there most mornings. You could also have the option of going upstairs where there is a wonderful view of the island. The owners and servers were very courteous. We also enjoyed their two dogs, Nyla and Rackett, and their puppies!
It might have been nice to have a microwave or electric teapot in the room. Although we didn't mind it at all, sometimes it was a little noisy in the evening because there is a soccer field right next door but we enjoyed it. One thing about Caye Caulker in general that we wished was better were the beaches. There were only a couple and they were very small.

Lovely welcoming staff, comfortable beds, and the name of the property, when we figured it out, made us laugh. Would definitely recommend.
The dogs that live there are beautiful and we were also lucky enough to have a litter of 6 puppies to cuddle while we were there.
No problems at all

Everything was perfect during our stay, especially the breakfast that changes everyday and which is really good and the kindness of the hosts! I truly recommend this place

I loved staying at Yocamatsu! it’s a little hidden gem - in the heart of Caye Caulker, but tucked away so it’s nice and quiet. The staff and owner are wonderful and helpful, the breakfasts were delicious and generous, it’s clean and comfortable, and the wifi was good.

location location location!!!! Also the breakfast was great!!!

location was great. Walkable to dining, beach, yoga studio etc...and yet very quiet area.
Air conditioning :)
Very Welcoming owner and managers!!
the picture on the web showed a small deck and hammock.....unfortunately our room did
not include those, However our stay was great!!! and our price was cheaper than the two rooms that did have a deck.

The location was outstanding, close to everything on Caye Cauker including restaurants, dive and snorkel shops, and a short walk to both sides of the island for sunrise and sunset. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and the lodging was charming. It was nice to have breakfast included. I would highly recommend!

The location is very central yet it’s still tranquil. The breakfast was incredible and they catered for my dietary needs, different both days I stayed, both times delicious. Lovely hot shower and luxurious towels which were a treat compared to other places I stayed! Mainly thank you to Luis and Maria, great hosts!
Not a big problem but two big, but friendly, dogs. It was sometimes a challenge to stop them running on to the field but normally those working at the property were there to help with this!

cute cottages in a shaded oasis setting. Breakfast is cooked rack morning and amazing. Luis is very helpful and welcoming.
Two sweet large dogs living here, but they bark a bit at night.
4.3
location was perfect, so near everything. breakfast was amazing!! staff were lovely and had two lovely dogs.
the room was ok, it was bit dark and no view as we were in Ground Floor. I think it was a bit expensive for what we got. the sheets and towels were not changed and we were there for 3 nights. In a island that has sand everywhere it w would have been nice to have the room cleaned and new towels.
4.3
What an easy going and fun atmosphere. Location seemed to be perfectly centered on the island and still private. If you are an animal lover and looking for a quieter place to stay, book here. Two sweet playful domestic dogs and 4 tropical birds (all very happy and beautifully cared for) live outside your door. Very nice homemade breakfasts and coffee brought to your porch or the roof top seating area each morning. Big wrap around windows for a sea breeze at night or ice cold air. Overall very fun and very welcoming. We will be back for sure.
No big deal, but we didn't know where the entrance was located for several minutes. The privacy that afforded us ended up to be a real hilight. As well as the private front row seats to a local soccer game. We loved it! Find the field and you're golden. :)

The assistant Luis is super nice and does and amazing breakfast and service by the way.
Very disappointing experience- the owner was not honest to us. Instead of telling us that he had an overbooking and we need to move out because of this, he said that a last minute, very important work has to be done on the sewers and the entire compound would have been affected with smells. Which was all a complete and distrustful lie.
The room is very dark, mattress is worn out and in the bathroom the tap handles fall off in the shower (were repaired by Luis). Absolute no advice to book this place - you find a lot better and for more value for money on the island. Avoid this place!
4.3
amazing rooms and amazing breakfast which was different every day cooked by Luis and the view at the breakfast bar on the top floor was the cherry on the cake
everything was great
4.3
There were dogs running loose and I’m terribly allergic to them.
4.3
The location was okay and the airco was okay.
We booked this accommodation because of the high mark (9.4 out of 10). But it's definitely not worth that. The breakfast was disappointing, not healthy and limited fruit. Maybe it's British standard? Room was only cleaned after 2 nights so on the third day. With all the sand on the island this is too less and considering that you have to throw toilet paper in a bucket...this will get smelly.
We had to leave one day earlier because of illness, but still had to pay the full price.
There are also two dogs, which can smell a little bit. But as dog lovers we didn't mind so much.

Yocamatsu was in an incredible setting - right in the middle of Caye Caulker! The staff was friendly and gave us lots of good tips for restaurants and things to do - they even booked a last minute catamaran trip for us AND walked us to the tour office! Breakfast was delicious every morning in the most beautiful setting, and the AC in the room helped us cool off after some hot days in the sun. We can't wait to go back!
Nothing!

beautiful property in the middle of caye caulker, really secluded but walkable to plenty of things! breakfast on the Palapa was great!

Breakfast was always excellent and different everyday.
Loved the puppy’s.

Lovely property, feels a bit like a little oasis. Felt like part of the family with the welcome from Luis and his wife and pets 👌
Very cute dogs, cat, and birds 😊
Nothing, all was great
4.3
Breakfast was hot and piping and fresh daily for you, no buffet. It was all great and the staff did a fantastic job with any questions we had.
Nothing, it was all great.
4.3
This is a hidden gem just off the main road. It feels secluded yet, the beach steps away. The rooftop bar made breakfast ever so sweet. The breakfast was superb.
4.3
The space was very clean and nice. the host, Luis and Maria were very kind and hospitable. We mentioned that we were vegan and he went above and beyond to make a variety of breakfasts every morning of our stay. In addition to serving up some amazing traditional belize breakfast ( but vegan) they also made us vegan French toast. We also had a the best views of the ocean and waited very little time to get breakfast :) we also had the pleasure of meeting all the animals on the property including a chill dog named Rocket. Our favorite stay in Belize.
There are some mosquitoes on the property because they are located next to a grassy field. but it was manageable with bug spray.
4.3
Great location! Right in the middle of everything so easy to stop in and out of the room throughout the day and location right on the soccer field was fun to watch locals play at night. AC is good. The hosts were kind enough to silence the parakeets in the early morning upon request.
- Luis wasn't aware of our arrival. He insisted I was a "last minute booking" even though I booked over a month in advance.
- The door to our room was very fidgety and we weren't informed you need to pull the door in a particular way in order to lock/unlock it. When we returned to the room at 11pm one evening, we had to fidget with the door for 20 minutes in order to get in. There was no staff on site and no posted number to call for assistance.
- They have caged parakeets right outside the window of the room that start squawking at 4:30-5am. Even if you are a deep sleeper, they will certainly wake you up. (Although the host covered them in the morning upon request which helped a bit).
- The rooms are very basic: hard bed, dimly lit, limited toiletries. There is no safe. Given the price, we expected the room to be more comfortable.
- The property is very small and there is not much space to sit other than inside your room. The rooftop terrace is not a bar as mentioned in other reviews, it is just an empty sitting area where you can have breakfast.

Yocamatsu is the best! Great people, perfect location, nice facilities.
Nothing!
