It was so dreamy. Top of the mountains yet a touch if luxury everywhere. One of a lifetime experience.
The food was exceptional. Chef and his team are really going beyond. I dont usually eat 3 times a day but couldnt help myself with the food in Santani. Everyone was super friendly and attentive.

Best breakfast ever. The food was always superb. Really urge people to have the Sri Lankan options - SO good!! Just a wonderful relaxing stay. Best buy was swimming in the river. So grateful to have my laundry done - I wish all hotels were similar! (Included for stays 3 nights and over). Fabulous pool.
The massage was amazing but very expensive

great spa and Massues
nice yoga
the administration not good broke my relaxation they send you text through booking and email and it is not true like you will meet a wellness doctor then they said but you don’t have a wellness package and I paid for it then they say but not included i ignored it although I have confirmation in booking and in an email . I asked them for decoration for my anniversary which happens ones a year they said yes in booking but they didn’t do it until I talked to the twice and reined the surprised . for the massage booking I did it even before I travel and has an email confirmation ! then they wanted to change twice in three days ! the last day I saw they changed our time slot for another group of clients do you imagine the disappointment the people just arrived I don’t know the preference they said urgent but I saw it

an experience in itself- if you ever want to treat yourself, this is the place!

Santani is a stunning retreat in the forest jungle. It’s very remote and tranquil so if you are looking to find some quiet and to replenish - this is the place for you!
Rooms
10/10 - stunning views, all the key facilities including lovely shampoo/ conditioner etc. They are decorated in a modern style that feels effortless yet very comfortable.
Location / activities
You are surrounded by nature - it’s incredible. Very secluded, so you will mainly stay at the hotel unless you opt for tours. I did the yoga and nature walk which were both excellent - highly recommend.
The spa was very tranquil, salt pool, sauna and steam room, all with fantastic views.
Food
the team were highly tuned into likes and dislikes. We had the best paneer we’ve ever tasted here!
10/10 - highly recommend booking if you have the opportunity.
we loved everything about Santani, but if you need a lot of stimulation and like the hustle and bustle of a town - this probably isn’t the place for you.

The property is absolutely breathtaking, situated within the mountain ranges, and is the perfect setting for getting grounded, resetting and positioning yourself for tranquility and calmness. The property is simple in and of itself - one pool, single dining area for all meals, spa, yoga venue, but if you want to venture out, you can join the excursions both far and near the property. The staff was amazing - Sri Lankan hospitality is unparalleled; everyone we met was so friendly, warm, attentive and high-touch to our needs.
For those who are light sleepers, the loudness of the crickets may be quite disruptive but can also serve to be a differentiated white noise for you.

We had a wonderful stay! Everything in Santani is magical - the scenery, the food, the staff, the facilities! Thanks for an amazing time!

hotel was so amazing I never visited anything else in Sri Lanka

it’s stunning, the architecture is beautiful, the view, the location, the food…
The spa area is beautiful and very relaxing.
They could be a bit clearer regarding what is included in the price and proactively offer juices etc.
The spa prices are exaggerated for the country standard, paying more for a massage than in Singapore or Dubai doesn’t make sense, even if the location is nice.

I loved everything about this! My favorite parts were the spa services and chakra alignment with sound bath done by the yoga master. I also loved the reiki with a visiting yoga master. The food, rooms, staff, and grounds were all great.
I booked without having the spa services which was not smart of me cost-wise. I also think it’s better value to go with your spouse or partner so, being on my own, I was a bit bummed that I was spending more than others.

A fantastic place. A perfect combination of modern design and nature (amazing views), with great spa and yoga facilities, fine dining, a fabulous pool and garden area, and many additional activities available. This is a 5* place per Western standards.

the entire experience was magical! wonderful location, beautiful views, really relaxing from start to finish. activities and all good and juices included! really worth it! the staff are so friendly and helpful and the owner is checking how you are everyday!
the only very minor negative is the room we stayed in, room 6, you can hear the noises from the generator or something early in the morning as it’s next to the main building.

location is good, pictures of the property was promising.
overpriced, service is poor, staff has no motivation, no personalized approach. and for this this value no even bathtub or AC in the room…but you’ll be pretty much aware of what your neighbor is doing because acoustics just absent. we left after 3 hours of stay because atmosphere is unbearable. this is the place that saved the whole trip - https://www.flametreeestate.com

An incredibly well made complex, the Mountain View rooms are amazing and right next to the main dining area. The buildings are modern brutalist build and is impressively designed to combine with the nature that surrounds it.
Food is of superb quality and all staff are extremely professional but still really friendly and approachable, this extends to every single member of staff, regardless of their roles.

Beautiful location, amazing staff, amazing food, lovely spa and a beautiful yoga shala! This place is so serene and even though the country is going through some major difficulties they manage to keep the quality of their services.
The only thing is that maybe during breakfast is not the best time to offer spa treatments.

Food, views and outdoor pool are amazing. The evening and morning yoga with Soman were a real highlight for us. We were very lucky to have the hotel all to ourselves during our stay, so Soman was able to really personalise our session.
The Spa treatment are extremely overpriced for the experience you get and what you will get elsewhere in similar spas in SL. We opted for 90 minute treatments which didn’t last the full time which we realised afterwards. But the location and wildlife noises are very special.
Also be aware that despite prices for the spa being in usd, we got an invoice in rupees with an unfavourable exchange rate meaning the treatments costs us more.

This was by far our best night in Sri Lanka, Santani is a real haven in the heart of mountains. The spa is extremely pleasant, the staff was just adorable and we had our best Rice and curry of Sri Lanka (congrats to the chef !).
We took the yoga classes in the morning, wich were very nice as well. The swimming pool is amazing.
This retreat is far in the mountain, but this is what we look for when we go to Santani.

An outstanding hotel, Uber stylish yet relaxed. The building itself was spectacular and the views were incredible. The spa was top class, the free yoga was also great. The food was definitely the best we had on our trip to Sri Lanka. would highly recommend.

I loved everything! this place is like a paradise where you come and relax and relive all the stress and burnout that you may have gathered. I highly recommend it! amazing experience.
the only small inconvenience let’s say it was not having enough chairs by the pool. there was a family of 6-7 that got all the chairs and we couldn’t enjoy the pool by the sunset when the weather was not that hot.

It really is a unique place. The room opens up a view of the valley. In the evening you will watch amazing sunsets and listen to prayers from the temples. The pool area is beautiful. The dining area is lovely in the morning and afternoon (at night is too dark). You will get to be fully connected to nature. You are asked what set of dishes you prefer. The food is delicious.
You should know that the rooms are loggias. This means that instead of walls you will have wooden bars. So you are actually outside. This makes a problem, because nature is very lively around you. The birds, the monkeys, and your neighborhood — you'll hear everything as if you were in a tent. One day I couldn't get into the house because there was a snake lying on the steps with its head up. On the way back from the spa, I met a wild monkey, which was hurt, causing it to behave aggressively.

Breathtaking setting, amazing food and service. Arguably the best food and service during our entire Sri Lanka trip. Striking modernist architecture and great spa facilities. We enjoyed the daily yoga. Very relaxing place!
We were not on a program, but we overheard other guests mention that it could feel that their time was overly scheduled. To be fair, they were moving from one relaxing activity to another!
We appreciated their non-air conditioning ambition but, while it cooled at night in the villa’s sitting area and bathroom, the bed was often the hottest place in the room.

A truly rare and special resort. Lived up to the hype and more. Incredible staff, truly amazing food (the best we had in Sri Lanka) with great variety, and an owner who really cares and would personally check in each day. Excellent pool, spa facilities and two complementary sessions of yoga a day with a great instructor. Had the garden view room which was beautiful and really tranquil. Resort full of wildlife and can walk down to a river for swimming that flows down from Knuckles. will be back.
