Ubicación excelente para acceder al puente y pasadizos del paiva

La piscina después de un día de mucho calor, y cercanía al puente colgante unos 15 minutos andando, un paseo muy agradable por el pueblo y caminos por el monte para llegar al puente

We enjoyed our stay here.

Beautiful location and within walking distance to the Suspension Bridge. Breakfast setting was shared table so we had fun talking (or trying to converse as we were the only English speaking ones present) with the other guests. Appreciated being able to leave our car on the premise after check-out time.

Balcony door did not close and we had to switch rooms - a minor inconvenience at the time. Never met the host but was given instructions over the phone.

A beleza das terras altas verdejantes, frescas e amáveis

O alojamento é muito agradável, tem uma localização que permite ter uma vista bastante agradável de toda a envolvente. Permite ir a pé até à entrada da ponte 516 pelo lado de Alvarenga. A Liliana e o Rui que trataram do pequeno almoço foram impecáveis, muito agradáveis de conversar e sempre prestáveis. Os ovos mexidos do Rui estavam divinais. Muito obrigado

Stay in small town great locatipn modest facilities

The location was super and the weather was at our hand. Location is perfect (20 minute walk) for crossing the paiva gorge with the famous suspension bridge (570 m lang and 175 m in the sky).

The staff only speaks portugese and we were there just off-season, hence nearly all restaurants are closed. Off site suggestiond of owner also pointed towards closed restaursnts. Due to steep entrance road, not advisable to go by car for evening dinner (at least we did not) Breakfast was moderate, coffee was on the second day 'warmed up' from previous day. Shower was flooding after three minutes, but being alone in the house resulted in having an endless supply of towels

Cómodo, practico y bonito

Muy bien el desayuno y la chica que lo preparaba muy amable. El contacto con el alojamiento muy bien y las zonas comunes son cómodas y bonitas, muy bien decorado. hasta tenia la piscina en servicio y eso que era octubre, pero que bien nos vino cuando volvimos de hacer las rutas. Si vas a hacer las pasarelas llegas al puente 516 andando desde el alojamiento en 10 minutos.

Tolles Haus, tolle Lage

Tolles Haus mit super Lage direkt am Bach. 15min Fußweg zur Hängebrücke, umgeben von Weinreben. Das Grundstück ist sehr gepflegt, mit tollem Pool und Sitzmöglichkeiten im Aussenbereich. Das Zimmer war perfekt für unseren Aufenthalt. Die Küche, Esszimmer und Wohnzimmer ist für alle frei nutzbar, sodass schnell ein WG-Feeling aufkommt und mit anderen Gästen aus aller Welt ins Gespräch kommt. Es sind zusätzlich viele Gesellschaftsspiele vorhanden. Die Küche ist super ausgestattet, sodass wir immer frisch kochen konnten - auch ein Grill ist vorhanden. Der kleine Supermarkt ist toll und sehr gut ausgestattet. Das Frühstück ist vollkommen ausreichend, wenn gewünscht mit frischen Rührei und Obstkorb. Tanja war sehr nett, ein früheres Check-In war ohne Probleme möglich. Wir können es weiterempfehlen.

Wenn es etwas zu bemängeln gibt, dann das es etwas hellhörig im Zimmer ist.

Great location to get to the bridge. Nice staff.

We stayed in the attic room , so it was difficult to walk without hitting your head. But we did book on short notice. However that specific room should have been cheaper if it was that small.

Great place to stay for exploring the Arouca bridge and nearby walkways

Conveniently located country house for the Arouca bridge and the Paiva walkways. We stayed just one night, so did not use the facilities much. There was decent pool, parking right at the house, staff was very friendly and welcoming. What I liked that you can actually walk to the Arouca bridge and you do not have to move the car. Breakfast was served in a kind of common kitchen / living room, it was basic but sufficient.

We had only limited view from our room, into the backyard. But as we stayed just over night it did not really bother us.

Such a lovely stay! Stayed here for one night to visit the arouce 516. But would have loved to stay longer. Room was nice, good bed, a balcony, good bathroom. The host even prepared the breakfast early for us because we booked a timeslot for the arouca bridge at 8.30.

More a remark about google maps than the stay itself. We drove from Pinhão towards here; we advice you to stay on the bigger roads as long as possible. Maps send us through the near villages, these roads were really difficult

The staff was so friendly and helpful. The house is in a great location, within walking distance to the 516 Arouca Bridge. We felt very much at home.

Best Hotel service /hospitality I have ever received

The service provided by the staff was exceptional. They accommodated our late arrival. Arranged a fresh breakfast made on the spot in the morning. Rooms were great as well and gave us an extra room since we had kids.

A very nice house in a very quiet location in the countryside. Very generously built and well furnished. The hostess makes a lot of effort, the housekeeper is very, very present and helpful. At breakfast we met other interesting guests. A swimming pool is available and we have also used the next day. A great experience.

The path to the house should be cleared of weeds and wild plants, otherwise we have the impression at the beginning that we have lost our way. It would be great if in the rooms were a pair of hoes, where you can hang his towels and co. ;-)

friendly staff🧡. You can agree)))))) Good breakfast, nice pool, jacuzzi. But have to work with cleaning. Our room was not cleaned, The bedding was partially changed. There was a smell of other perfumes(((( There was a lot of hair in the bathroom(((((( I'm sorry, but hotels should have a clean base.

Lovely shared home 15min walk from the bridge!

Thank you to Ana for her warmth and kindness. The house has 9 rooms so functions more like a B&B than a private airbnb, so it means the lounge, dining room, kitchen and outdoor spaces are shared with other guests. The kitchen is well equipped and has an oven, stove, microwave and large fridge/freezer. The pool is beautiful and clean with a lot of sun loungers. Great location, 15min walk to the bridge but you'll need to drive into town for a restaurant meal. Communication with Ana and Isabel was very good.

Please remove the box around the bed in room 5 as I kept on walking into it during the night. The bathroom in room 8 also had a terrible smell all weekend which seems to be a drain issue. Wifi didn't work but I understand it can be spotty in remote areas. We did have good cellphone signal though. A welcome page with emergency number, recommended restaurants etc would be lovely to have in English please 😊

Very good if you are planning to cross the 516 bridge.

Location close to the Arauca 516 bridge. Breakfast was very simple but good. Room had air conditioning (very good)

Water in the shower was not hot and there were no soap/shampoo. Parking has few slots.

The best place anyone could stay for access to 516 suspension bridge

Excellent breakfast and brilliant location for the 516 suspension bridge.

Why would you but a bed facing the wrong way with such a view. Also, why put a four poster bed slap bang in front of the windows so it was difficult to open or see out of them?

Superb

The location is amazing. Right in the middle of the mountains with beautiful scenery and charning sounds of a creek flowing right by the property. The breakfast was big and tasteful! And the host is a very kind and lovely person.

Perfect for visiting the area and 516 Arouca bridge. I highly recommend this place!!

We went to visit 516 bridge and it was perfect since you can easily walk to the bridge. They let us keep our stuff and take a shower after we came back, which was after check-out hours. The place was beautiful and such a shame we only stayed one night. Breakfast was nice, simple but plenty. Staff was great helping with directions or anything we needed.

This is not really related to the place but might be an advise for others. We decided to drive late at night from Lisbon. The roads are not great once you get off the highway so I would avoid driving at night time to or from this place. No negative comments towards with Quinta de Alvarenga

Great place to stay next to Arouca suspended bridge

The house and decoration is amazing. Sadly we arrived very late and we didn't have time to enjoy the garden. Dona Cila is very nice and she prepared a great breakfast for us

Be careful with the Google maps directions, as the roads are very narrow and you'll damage your car. Host will send you the way to get to the house
