Staying at Beytul Habaib was a great cultural experience. The mix of modern and traditional decor was beautiful, and David's service was excellent. The two-bedroom apartment was perfect for our family. We enjoyed cooking and felt right at home. The views were amazing, with stunning scenes of the island and ocean from every angle. Being close to the beach was a big plus, and my children loved playing there.
One small downside is that it's a bit far from the town center, but the motorcycle transport was convenient.

The manager was nice and helpful
Firstly, the location was far from the city center, making it inaccessible by bike and requiring a 20-minute walk on foot. The surrounding area was littered with rubbish and trash.
While the apartment was spacious, it felt very old and gave off a rather depressing vibe. It was as if it had been a luxurious residence for a wealthy family 40 years ago, but now it had lost its charm.
The most bothersome aspect was the windows, which had huge gaps. As a result, wind passed through them, creating a constant whistling sound. Despite wearing headphones, I struggled to sleep even for a few hours. The wind was so strong that even the curtains flew around, creating an odd and uncomfortable atmosphere.
To add to the disappointment, I found some dry dirt on my towel. Overall, the experience wasn't up to the standards I expected.
Btw it says that the breakfast included but it’s not the case.

It is a nice hotel with a spacious en-suite room, a balcony overlooking the ocean, a lounge. There is no reception but the hotel manager arranges everything by texting. A person met me at the airport, showed a way to the hotel and found a hotel attendant.
The location is poor, over 1 km from the town center. I felt a bit unsafe returning after dark but nothing's happened.

Willy the houseman was very friendly and helpful
Nothing was in good repair- the kitchen was filthy and ill equipped. The heavy rain came through the roof in several places flooding the entry way, and making the rug a swampand the ceiling began to crumble. The ceiling over the bath fell into the tub. All the taps were badly corroded and the windows were in disrepair.one of the toilets did not work and one morning we awoke to find there was NO water

Outstanding breakfast and outstanding dinners – fully prepared, six food varieties -Just arrange or, purchase from the market yourself whatever you want prepared including lobster prawns snapper grouper and any seasonal vegetable you can imagine. Also excellent poultry available.
Hot water was an issue on arrival and within 24 hours a brand new shower head had been installed and solar heating overhauled.

The view is amazing!!!
Deluxe room is very big with separete bedroom and nice living room.
There is a bath in a bathroom.
When we came it wasn't clean. There was someone food in the fridge.
After 2 days they cleaned and it was ok. I think that they just weren't prepared for us.
Safety box was closed and they didn't have a key. I asked for it a few times.
Also there was no electric kettle and water.
And this place is in a different direction then on Booking.com map (I added a photo - property on booking is where there is a small bed emoji and on reality when the blue dot athe the top of the map is)

Good room
For the money paid, a shared facility was not value for money.

The bed is very comfortable and the air con worked great. The Hamisi, the caretaker, was very helpful though does not speak great English. Breakfast was simple but a good value. The apartment was clean and spacious and our laundry was done by the cleaning staff (without our asking for it but it was a nice surprise). Beautiful view of the water and nice breeze to combat the summer heat.
The main drawback to the property is the location. It is about 10 minute walk from the beginning of town and unfortunately that walk takes you past the area where the locals deposit their trash.

The place is beautiful by the water ... rooms are airy and spacious and have a fantastic view. The staff and the owner are amazing and were available when needed.
Everyone was very sweet and accommodating.
From the person that picked me up from the airport to the staff at the apartment.
Breakfast was included and the chef makes either Swahili or English breakfast with fresh juice or tea or milk or you can request what you like.
I would definitely stay here again. I truly loved the house, proximity and above all great staff.

It is a good place for a family. The hotel is clean with big spacious rooms. It has a fully equipped kitchen. Generally loved everything. Budget-wise, it is economical considering what you get. Hamisi, the attendant was very friendly and he was there for us during our week's stay in Lamu.
Their meals little-bit expensive. It needs a bit of re-organization.
