About this house rental
Breakaway to this traditional oceanfront cottage, located in the Sanderling community in Duck. With its three-sided wrap-around decks and covered screened-in porch, this home offers sun and shade, sunrises and sunsets, and spectacular oceanfront views (even from the sound-facing deck!). Morning, afternoon, and evening – sun worshipers or shade seekers can enjoy the beach all day long. Bask in the sun or relax in the shade. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee on the oceanfront deck and watch the sunrise over the ocean. In the evening, toast the day with a with a glass of your favorite beverage and watch the sunset in a blaze of vibrant reds, pinks, and oranges.
The top floor is an open living area with an ocean view from every window. There is a flat screen internet-connected TV and DVD player, a nook with rocker, couch (pulls out to twin), and small table w/ bench seating, a well-equipped kitchen with island and wet bar, and a large dining table for family dinners.

There is a flat screen TV and DVD player in every bedroom, and high speed wireless internet. Duck has become our favorite place to be and this beautiful home has become part of our cherished memories. The house is clean with a very well equipped kitchen and is perfect for those of us who bring our 'fur babies' on vacation. As always looking forward to our next visit.

Beautiful house and a great location. Very clean and kitchen was impressively stocked. It is not a private walkway to the beach, it is a public walkway for the neighborhood, but that was not a problem - there is a very short private walkway from the house to the walkway over the dune, but it is very close and the public walk did not have a lot of traffic. Nice, quiet neighborhood.

This was our first family beach trip to the Outer Banks. This house had the perfect location right on the beach with beautiful views of the ocean from the top deck. The decorations were tasteful, there was plenty of room in the common area. We loved the laminate floors (no beach home should be carpeted!), and the 2 outdoor showers were very convenient for the kids. It was close to all the activities we enjoyed such as hang-gliding at jockey's ridge, touring wild horses in corolla, shopping in duck, having fresh seafood at Awful Arthurs and visiting the Wright memorial. Of course lots of time was spent on the beach too. Appreciated the umbrella and chairs that were provided. Would stay there again!

The home was very lovely and well-maintained. There were many surprise amenities like beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards. The rooms were well-decorated and relaxing. The attached baby gates were wonderful and did not take away any of the charm of the home. The only issue was one of the keys did not work on any of the doors. We didn't find this out until near the end of the stay. The office stated they would fix the problem. I would recommend this home to anyone who wants to stay close to the beach.

Hello This is our family's 2nd year in the house. The views are incredible, the outside furniture is awesome. The screened in porch is the absolute best when raining and for just relaxing. Under house has ample space for paring, cooking and storing items so all good there.On the front porch deck the deck boards are lose and some feel very flimsy/thin. I think they need replacing. No all but some.Inside. The kitchen and amenities are good. Could use a new wine opener please and possibly some more pots. Sauce or spaghetti pots just one more. We had issue with microwave not working , called office and someone came out and had to order a part but was fixed the next day. The fix only lasted 1 day and it broke again. Fan worked but not heating up. Management office was exceptional on taking care of any issues very promptly. I would like to know how come towels are not included in the price? Sheets are but no towels😳 For the price of the house I would hope they are included. Overall our week was great, weather/swimming not as good as previous years but it's all good. Joaquin snuck up on us during our stay which of course made our week a little disappointing. The house is well equipped in the kitchen. We loved the outdoor furniture which was upgraded again this year. It's great to have decking on 3 sides of the house giving you both sunrise and sunset views. Communication with the reality company after our stay has been difficult. I am still waiting for a return call after questions weeks ago. Sanderling is a great location for activities (dinner at Blue Point is a must) or just lay back and enjoy the peace and quiet. We'll be back again next year.

The house was exceptional, great amenities, kitchen could use a few more frying ,sauté pans as the ones there are a little old.furnished lovely, loved screened in porch and 2 outside showers. The views of the beach are outstanding. Very satisfied.Upon arrival there was a fish smell in referigerator and we had to thoroughly re clean, and we had no sheets on bed. We called the after hours emergency number and within the hour our sheets arrives so all good.

The house is just what you want when going to the beach. Steps to beach, views from almost every room. Well equipped and beautiful decor. The only complaint was the hundreds and hundreds of bugs on the uppper deck floor and along the roof line. We had to clean the deck before being able to use it. I made a homemade bug spray that seemed to eliminate them for the rest of the week.

You can't beat the view and the elevated deck chairs from which to take it in. Sunrises over the Atlantic! Gorgeous. Ditto for stargazing.It's the perfect house for a family with young or short children (bunk beds) and a teenager or grandparents along for the queen bed. The MB king bed was super comfortable. The twin pullout off the kitchen lacks privacy, especially at night. Curtains would be nice. The side sliding doors have no curtains at all. The front sliding doors have sheers only.The neighborhood is nice for walking the dogs. The public beach access was not an issue at all and had the added bonus of sharing the spider web patrol.The umbrellas, beach chairs and boogie boards provided were appreciated. We had fun playing the 1980's version of Clue. The kitchen was well equipped. Dishes and glasses were abundant! My only advice is to stock up on ice for cocktails & mocktails because the ice-maker is small. [Requests to the owner: a separate small trash bin in the kitchen for the recycling and more brooms for sand and spiderwebs or at least one on each floor. Also post a note to leave the washer's lid up and open so it doesn't get moldy smelling inside.][Advice to the cleaners - they should watch the show "Hotel Impossible" and see how the host Anthony wipes under the rim of a toilet to see if it is properly clean. Toilet brushes really don't get under there and now because I've seen that show, I notice.]

We loved this house, only issue was absolutely no rugs, even small one's as my Collie Shepard, who is 11 years old did not have a place to lie on the floor. She never goes on the bed. We brought some rugs from home. Those stairs were tough.

You can tell that the owners of this home really care about the renter's experience. The kitchen was well equipped, the home was very clean and well maintained. The only reason for the 4 on furnishings was bc one of the legs of the couch broke and it could have been disastrous. This was no fault of the owners though..the couch had hollow plastic legs which weren't very sturdy. The property management team didn't send anyone out to address it after numerous calls so hence the lower rating there. Again, minor issues. Overall we really liked the home.

Great house, great location.
The house is well maintained, well designed, and very comfortable. You can't beat the location right on the beach in a small community. The beach is sparsely populated, making it a quiet and fun place to rest, relax, and take a walk. The decks overlooking the beach are beautiful. We loved being able to drive into both Duck and Corolla for food and entertainment. It was ideal for either one family or two.

My husband, daughter, son-in-law & 11-month grandson all concurred that this was the perfect house for us. We caught the edge of Hurricane Jose for a couple days but the view from the house was spectacular (from both inside & oceanfront deck). Very comfortable w/well-supplied kitchen, beach toys; lots of games/puzzles Only disappointment was the restaurant-style high chair; no tray, no secure belt/harness. The porch furniture/pads were fabulous. The screened porch was a perfect away-from-office office; wifi excellent. Beach access perfect; outdoors showers ideal (& clean!). There were many thoughtful and welcome touches by owners, who obviously take pride in their house. We hope to be back!
