Very neat place. If you would like to see how people lived in an 1850 home, this is a place. Interior is well done. Addition is very nice.

Absolutely loved the historical setting with modern amenities of the cabin/home.
So cozy! Loved sitting on the front porch for morning coffee, breakfast as a family in the kitchen/table, dinners cooked on the grill and evening fires in the fire pit outdoors.
Thank you so much for the memories with our family!!

We had a great time - loved the cozy cabin, unfortunately hot tub was out of order and was a little scared of the poison ivy near the arched entrance :) we would definitely stay again though the place was a hidden jewel!

We had the most amazing stay in this very unique cabin! We loved the combination of an old cabin and modern conveniences! The cabin is well stocked with everything you might need or want. The beds were all very comfortable and my kids loved the loft upstairs. The front porch is so peaceful and the whole cabin has a very private feel to it. It felt like we were staying in someone’s private home instead of a rental property. Definitely a 10 out of 10 for our family!!

This unique cabin is packed with personality. Rustic but up to date. It's situated in the woods with a beautiful back yard that is private. We built a little fire in the fire pit and made s'mores. We rode horses at Cataloochee Ranch at the top of the mountain and went on fabulous hikes. Ate a huge country style dinner at Smokey Shadows, just up from the cabin. We made lots of wonderful family memories here. Highly recommend!! We'll be back.

Absolutely beautiful cabin with modern amenities and close to area attractions. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed our time at this property immensely. I highly recommend!

What a beautiful cabin! A1850 cabin with all the comfort of today! Love the fireplace in the bedroom and the coziness of the home. The rushing sound of the creek below and the closeness to everything!!

Lovely historic cabin.

Charming cabin in the woods with great location for skiing! Memorable and cozy stay.

Really great. The place felt bigger than it appeared in the photos, it has nice high ceilings and a great layout that really maximizes the space.
The place had a nice separate bedroom for our daughter and lots of nice decor details.
We had a wonderful stay and the location made it real easy to get to the Ski Mountain.

We stayed for Christmas, everything was perfect. The cabin had everything we needed for a perfect Christmas

Great property for relaxing. Comfy and Cozy. Close to Blue Ridge Parkway entrance. Saw lots of elk and stunning scenery. Our second stay there.

We enjoyed this cozy cabin. The property is beautiful and feels private.

Cool place, but, it did not look exactly like the pictures showed and it was no where near as private as it look like in pictures. There were vapes in the nightstand and also other nasty personal items. The beds were made but there were a few dishes in the sink and ants on the counters. Multiple lights were out in every room. I did not get any text or message about the key code. I would not stay here again.

We loved our stay. The cabin was even better than we expected. It was very rustic, private, and the hot tub was great on the cool nights. We enjoyed coffee in the mornings on the front porch. The bed was very comfortable, & except for a few spider webs here & there, it was very clean & orderly. We definitely recommend this place & look forward to returning.

Great spot, nice property for the pup, even got to see some Elk

Everything about this cabin was great! It was clean, easy to get to, close to town, relaxing! We would leave the front door open and just sit and listen to the stream. Highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxing getaway!
4.8
Adorable, quiet cabin surrounded by trees. Loved the spot, exactly what we were hoping for.
4.8
Property pictures are very deceiving. Home was not clean, all amenities were half used. Dirty washcloths in hamper not used by us. No stream on property as shown in pics! Lighting is absolutely horrible. I would not recommend this property for the price!

This property was gorgeous! The pictures do not do the cabin justice. All of the cabins’ decor is carefully arranged throughout the house. This was a great find and we highly recommend this place if you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing retreat. You can hear the creek everywhere on the property. Patrick, the homeowner, was wonderful to work with. He checked on us and made us feel at home. So close to everything as well. We’ll definitely rent this home again.

Charming pioneer cabin with well equipped modern addition...and I bet the pioneers didn't have have a hot tub (but in solidarity with the pioneers, no electric dishwasher). Quiet, off the beaten track location with stream sounds all night (be sure to turn off the hot tub to hear them). Gorgeous setting.

The cabin was conveniently located to town yet private and secluded as well. It had everything we needed and we were very comfortable. The modern conveniences combined with the historical charm of this cabin made out stay here very enjoyable!
We will be back one day!

There's a lot to love about this cabin! It's pretty much stocked with everything you'll need and the bed in the master is pretty comfortable. You always hear the rushing creek and it's so relaxing! The hot tub is a big plus!

Pros - cabin is beautiful; bed was comfortable; it was quiet & peaceful even though there are neighbors, it does feel secluded; convenient; fire pit & hot tub are great; looove the swing! Host was very friendly, quick & helpful when we accidentally locked ourselves out (1 door auto-closes & locks).
The cabin is awesome, however, the "mountain view" is from the driveway, but it is beautiful. As for "waterfront", we could not see the creek from the cabin, & that was the biggest selling point for me. You can hear it in the distance if you leave the door / windows open or sit outside, which sounded wonderful. But from what we could tell, the only access to the creek appears to be from the neighbor's cabins, which was disappointing. Upon arrival, we noticed several issues with cleanliness. Some ex: outside porches not swept, cigarette butt on outside table (also not cleaned), dead bug on kitchen counter, coffee pot was dirty, inside fridge shelves/drawers not cleaned, someone else's left over food and dirty glass left in fridge, some obvious missed dusting, left over open food in pantry. (mentioned to host).
Also note: byo toilet paper if staying more than a couple of days (we were left one full roll). And although you pay a substantial cleaning fee, the owner does state that he wants the cabin left as found, including hauling all the trash OFF the property to an offsite trash disposal site.
(*Suggestion - please share the history of cabin - it's amazing!) :)

Clean, calming, beautiful & excellent communication from host- such a wonderful stay! My Dad and I took a Father/Daughter trip and it was amazing. You are surrounded by lush green trees and the sound of the stream. I slept better than I have in years- we both did. We plan on coming back every year! You should for sure stay @ this gem!

The property is a great little area tucked away in an area of Maggie Valley - far enough to feel out of the town yet close enough to enjoy the surrounding areas or grab a bite to eat at a local establishment.
The host was very thorough with driving directions to the Pioneer Creek Cabin, gave a great outline of house expectations, roles and responsibilities so there was no confusion as to what we needed to do prior to checkout.
The hot tub is a great addition after long days of hiking, horseback riding or other adventures in the area. We loved the location to explore the area. Also love reading the book left by a previous owner filled with stories of others who enjoyed the cabin - nice touch! Would stay here again!

was very clean and organized and very beautiful. I would go every weekend if i could!!! will for sure be coming back!

This home had easy access from the road, a well as easy access to nearby attractions! We woke up to the sound of beautiful hard rain Saturday morning. It got sunny later in the morning, and the "boys" went hiking at Pinnacle Point. This mama stayed home with the pups. It was bliss. NCAA basketball games were on TV Saturday night, and we went home Sunday morning. It was the perfect not too close/ not to far away weekend get-away!

Clean vety nice enjoying the get away

Great little cabin hidden in Maggie Valley. Overall a great weekend trip. Cabin was clean, however there were some dirty dishes and utensils in the cabinets and hot tub cover needs to be replaced. Neither of these made our stay any less amazing. Host gave a number to text at, but never responded to any messages I sent.

Great views and not to difficult to get to from a terrain perspective! Very relaxing weekend!

The cabin was great for the two of us and our dog. Bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the gas fireplaces. Would definitely stay here again. Although it is near other homes, it felt secluded. Loved it!
4.8
Similar to other reviews, this property could use a little TLC, but other than that most everything was in good working order. Others mentioned that it is dim in the kitchen, so I brought rechargeable lamps which worked great as there was no light on the stove burners. There is central heat, but the two fireplaces will also warm up the cabin quickly. The hot tub was warm and clean. We enjoyed the historic cabin!
4.8
This was the most adorable historic cabin for me and my family to spend Christmas in. The decor was so cozy and the beds were super comfy. The fireplaces were enjoyed quite a bit as well. We will be back for sure. The owner checked on us during our stay and was very accommodating.

Renter beware. This place is not like the pictures you see.
BLACK MOLD in the only shower in the rental!
Every outside seat or cushion looks like wildlife has used them for mating season and toilets.
Kuereg machine was disgustingly filthy.
I expressed my dissatisfaction about the cleanliness of this rental to the owner which was ignored. He later told me I should have said something and he may have been able to correct some thing's. He suddenly forgot that he admitted missing my message about the cleanliness when I asked him about it.
He blamed all previous renters for not letting him know about the conditions.
Do yourself a favor and book a different cabin
