If you are looking for a modern clean attentive hotel in Sisi, you cannot go wrong here. The staff were attentive, management provided a bottle of champagne and the room overlooked the pool. It was quiet.
The staff overly doted and this hotel could have been anywhere in the world.

Amazing staff and great location. We were given an upgraded room and it was very quiet and relaxed.
Some areas of mould around tiled areas and some repetion on the menu ( although food always excellent quality).

Breakfast was not great

The hotel was very nice and the breakfast was very good. The pool area was nice. We had to leave very early one morning for the ferry and they prepared breakfast just for us at 6 am. The small town was just a short walk away.
We would have loved a sea view. They had music playing throughout the hotel which you could hear in the rooms. I had to wear ear plugs to go to sleep. The pool was dirty with algae. We never saw anyone cleaning the pool.

The room was very comfortable and quiet, breakfast was very good, it had a nice relaxed atmosphere and was close to the harbour where there are a number of quaint shops and tavernas. Some of the staff were indifferent but Eleni was great, always ready to chat but very hardworking, a credit to the hotel.
We had a hot tub but there were balconies above overlooking it so it was not very private. The dinner was a set menu except for the main course. It was always tasty except for the main course (don't know why, was always a bit overcooked/dry) and drinks were not included in the deal so we found ourselves paying over 30 euros per night for a bottle of wine and water. On hindsight it would have been better value for money to go bed and breakfast and eat dinner in one of the local tavernas.

Very friendly staff and was nice and relaxing hotel
lack of entertainment, room situation at back of property was on to a field full of rubbish, more selection of food

As ever the staff were welcoming, friendly and professional. They really do make the place. Facilities are great and we always enjoy our room with a private pool.
This was our 10th visit in the past 8 years and sadly it will be our last. A change in policy under the new management (as we were told by one staff member) to allow children to stay means that we will no longer be using this hotel. We say this with great sadness and we will miss the hotel and it’s wonderful staff enormously. If the policy changes back again in the future we will be the first to return! Thank you for the memories Castillo Boutique.

The dinner meal option was very good and as this was at the start of their season most of the dining opportunities in the village were closed. The food outlets were mainly small bar and tavernas, there were no real restaurants. Room was fine but the plunge pool clder than my gin and tonic - too early in the season and it lost the sun about 5 pm.
Not a 5* hotel, but the staff were 5*, and made us most welcome.
Room service was touch and go. Several days no bath sheets were left .

One of the friendliest and most caring staff ever: from the check-in to each interaction they were all extremely kind. Bed were super comfortable and room was huge (we received a complimentary upgrade to the superior room with private pool). Unfortunately in April the weather is just starting to get warm so the pool was pretty cold, but it was amazing anyway. We enjoyed also the room patio with two sunbeds and the indoor jacuzzi.
Breakfast with "a la carte" menu was very tasty, with an ample selection both sweet and savory.
The welcome drink at the reception, and two local desserts and a bottle of local white wine in the room were a very nice touch, that goes well with the super polite staff.
Hotel position is super strategic to the city centre and in walking distance to some nice local beaches (from 5 to 20 minutes).
Overall it is super recommended, we'd definitely come back.
Only minor issues, noticeable just because it is a 5-star hotel so the attention to details is high.
Room acoustic insulation is average, and with the hotel gym located right below the stairwell if someone is running on the treadmill early in the morning the noise is noticeable. Despite the bed being super comfortable, pillows are average with just one flat and soft and one tall but very hard.
No hotel slippers.
Hotel is located next to an Orthodox Church, so there are bells singing in the morning and in the afternoon, and all functions are broadcast outdoors via the church speakers (but we stayed in the days of Orthodox Easter celebrations, so this could not be an issue in other times of the year).

We had a wonderful time at the Castello. Our room was huge, with mountain views and a hot tub, and was cleaned beautifully every day. The food was excellent and head chef Marios went out of his way to cater for us (two vegans) every night with a huge array of delicious meals. The wait staff were always so friendly and smiley. And we had some very tasty cocktails at the hotel bar. Plus everyone at the front desk was so helpful and chatty. The pool area is great and wasn't too busy, with an amazing view of the church next door. PLUS the area is such a hidden gem - there are lots of places to go out for a meal or drink close by, and with a hire car you can get to lots of the sights in Eastern Crete very easily.
We couldn't have had a better holiday! Thank you so much to all the staff at the Castello!

Staff were very good.
Restaurant was very sterile with no atmosphere. Very rushed service till we asked them to slow down. We were advised that Dinner was smart dress with no jeans or shorts allowed but this was not enforced which was very disappointing as we had purchased new clothes especially. . Please also note that this venue is no longer adults only as per earlier reviewers comments.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Welcome drinks on arrivals. Room was just as described. Breakfast was very good with a range of food and fruit. Fresh towels and bedding provided everyday and all staff wore masks. Would fully recommend.
Nothing, Spa and sauna was closed due to Covid-19 however this is beyond their control.

We stayed in a room with a small private pool attached via the outdoor patio, which got sun in the morning. We were half board, getting breakfast and dinner. The breakfasts were excellent, with a range of offers. The dinners were also good, and you won't go hungry in the evenings as there is so much food! Additional spend on drinks were really reasonably priced. The main pool and sunbeds are great, with umbrellas and lots of space. We also booked massages at 70 Euros each for one hour, which were really nice and able to be tailored once you got onto the table. Sissi itself also has a few nice shops, ok restaurants and a mini golf place, with three beaches within a 15 minute walk, so you don't need to drive anywhere!
The evening main courses could have had slightly more choice, but this is really clutching at straws for a negative

Staff lovely - peaceful hotel and very comfortable. Good location.
This used to be a adults hotel and its clear they have not really got a set up for non couples. They could not really provide a twin room with single beds and tried to achieve this by removing double bed topper and only providing sheets as bedding not a duvet which was uncomfortable and cold. Had to covert back to double bed which was not great for my daughters.
The gym was awful. No aircon so incredibly hot and few machines and indoor pool spa not open - a shame.

Fantastic holiday. We were wonderfully looked after by the staff. A stunning hotel in a fab location. The rooms with a pool are brilliant especially during a heatwave. We cannot thank the staff enough for the very special 21st birthday they arranged for our son

The hot tub at the balcony was the main reason for us to choose Castello Boutique Resort & Spa to spend 2 nights at. Also, we stayed there for our wedding anniversary, the hotel even prepared a bottle of fresh Prosecco for us, which was beyond our expectations!
The location of the hotel was not quite easy to reach; meanwhile, Sissi, where the hotel locates, was not so ideal for travellers who'd like to enjoy some time on the beach.
