Welcome to A Summer Hour Retreat! Visitors to St. Simons Island who are looking to stay in the heart of the fun will find that A Summer Hour Retreat keeps you close to the excitement while still offering a tranquil getaway that's one of a kind. This 3-bed, 2.5-bath retreat is a great home for up to 6 guests to enjoy and is just a few short blocks from restaurants, shops, Neptune Park Fun Zone, and of course the Atlantic Ocean. Reservations between Memorial Day and Labor Day may request a complimentary punch pass to access the Neptune Park Fun Zone located in the Pier Village. This Punch Pass (up to 10 punches, 1 punch per person) will give guests access to the community waterfront pool and/or miniature golf. Nestled into St. Simons Island Village, this cottage offers up a multi-level escape from the daily routine where you can savor the sights, enjoy nearby fun, and make the most of every island moment!

Guest reservations of 3 to 21 nights come with a valuable credit to use towards beach gear rentals during your stay! The credit amount of $30/night is included in each reservation. You may use your credit for bicycles, beach chairs and umbrellas, beach carts, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and more – the choice is yours!

Any group gatherings and events at this property are limited to the number of occupants (6 persons). Spring break groups and events such as weddings, rehearsal dinners, receptions, etc. are not permitted.

Exterior Features
Summer Hour Retreat hosts an impressive front porch and two balconies to be enjoyed by those visitors who value time in the fresh air with a view too. The coastal paneling of the exterior and decorative railings to match sit in lovely contrast to the surrounding lush foliage and towering palm trees. The porch provides a wonderful view when you're settled into comfortable patio furniture, sipping a cup of coffee, and enjoying your day to the fullest.
Interior Amenities
Stepping through the front door, those who book A Summer Hour Retreat will find a home away from home dedicated to light, space, and island-inspired style waiting to greet them. The living room of Summer Hour Retreat is found on the main floor and includes a collection of large windows and glass doors leading out to the front porch providing ample natural light during the daytime hours. Two plush blue sofas are settled on the sleek hardwood flooring and in front of a large flat-screen television for added entertainment value.

The fully-stocked kitchen takes a coastal modern approach to design and includes a collection of high-end stainless steel appliances paired with sleek wood countertops and glass-front cabinetry. When it's time to dine, guests can pick and choose between one of two dining spaces with seating for 10 guests. The dining table offers seating for 6 while the second den offers seating for 4 at the breakfast table.

Bedrooms in the home are situated on the upper level. When it's time to rest up for a day of fun ahead, the spacious primary bedroom in this property features a king bed and a full bath complete with dual shower heads and an oversized shower. This room also provides access to a private balcony with Atlantic views. Two guest bedrooms, featuring a King bed (with a private balcony) and the other bedroom featuring two twin beds, are spacious and comfortable. In the garage area, guests will have access to a great game space including a ping pong table, music, a Coca-Cola bottle cap card table, and corn hole.

One of the best vaca spots! We have stayed at many properties up and down SSI and found this one to be among our favorites. Exactly as described by the owner and others. It was exceptionally clean, well equipped, well appointed and spacious. Loved the location!!! Beautiful neighborhood and easy walk to the village and the street’s beach access! We’d often run down to watch the big ships going by and view the amazing turn of the tides…AND soon discovered it was the best spot to enjoy the fireworks! We highly recommended!

Every step of this process was seamless. Great communication with the property mgmt. company. Easy check in and gorgeous home. Just a few steps from a beautiful water view and so easy to walk to the main downtown area. House was well stocked and very comfortable. Beach gear rental partnership was an awesome bonus. Exceptional location in a quiet neighborhood, walk to dinner nightly. Great communication with property manager, easy check in/out process. Property just as in pictures. Comfy beds, great bath towels, master bathroom shower fantastic. Spacious house with a very well stocked kitchen. Board games for all ages, ping pong, cornhole, etc. Movie selections/streaming options a nice touch - plenty of space for a very relaxing trip. Highly recommend!

Very well appointed home with just about anything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay. The outdoor sitting areas were delightful, the kitchen very well appointed, the master and second bedroom spacious. Location quiet and proximity to the village an extra bonus. Definitely a repeat!

We chose A Summer Hour Retreat for our 17th Anniversary trip to St Simons Island and we are so glad we did, this property is absolutely beautiful, well updated, well stocked, and truly within walking distance to everything. We were thoroughly impressed with the communication as well, everything was simple which allows you to just truly enjoy the house and the Island, we had an amazing few days and will definitely be back!!

Overall, a great property. Big rooms, very comfortable place. Superb walking distance to Mallery St and the beach…although it was too cold for the beach the weekend we stayed there. Would most definitely rent here again.

Very nice property tho the list of rules seemed endless - mostly just common sense. There were 2 coffee makers but no coffee. In fact no basic supplies at all, except some dried herbs etc. We didn’t want to buy lots of food as we were only there 4 days, so a few pods of coffee would have been appreciated. Most vrbos I’ve stayed at supply some necessities, and most residents leave stuff they can’t use. Very spacious house in great location.

We had the BEST stay when our family came to St. Simons for the first time to attend a friend's wedding! The home was so gorgeous and spacious and nestled in the most beautiful neighborhood within walking distance of some amazing shops and restaurants and of course walking distance to the water. We spend many days and nights on the home's gorgeous porches and would recommend to anyone!

Property was well maintained, close to beach access (beach access only available in low tides) and town center area of shopping/restaurants/bars. Can access everything with a short walk or even shorter bike ride. We enjoyed our stay and are hopeful to return to the area in the future

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this property! The anticipation and timing of check in and check out e mails from the team was perfect. The location is just perfect. Park the car and walk every where. St Simons is such a delightful town to shop and find all sorts of restaurants. One member of our group had to hop on/off work calls and used the library and was always within a few blocks to join us . The house! Amazing. Really. I mean it. Comfortable and welcoming and well appointed. I so enjoyed morning coffee on the porch. This was a bucket list trip left over from childhood. I am a terrible sleeper and I slept soundly and comfortably each night. I give this property the very highest recommendation. Sincerest thank you .

The house was as stated in description, even more. A very short walk to stores/restaurants. In a quiet neighborhood. Our teens spend a lot of time in basement playing ping pong. Kitchen was well equipped for all of our cooking needs. Lots of time spent on porch. Already looking at our calendar to seen when we can visit again.

We loved the location being close to the pier and restaurants. We hadn't anticipated the weather being so nice-- a short drive to East Beach made for the perfect day. Rooms were large and clean. Very large TV in living room was nice. Only disappointment in the kitchen was that there wasnt a frying pan. Agency was very easy to work with-- instructions for check in and check out were made very clear. Would stay here again.

We loved the home and location. Well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. Very clean. Great master shower. The only complaint would be that the ice maker did not provide any ice and the gas grill only had a small amount of gas. We were not able to cook the steaks on the grill and had to resort to using the stove to cook them. Other than those 2 issues, we absolutely loved our stay.
