Beautiful views from the onsen (on a clear day). Buffet food was fantastic. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Good location, near the ropeway
Facility needs a bit of update and upgrades

The onsen and the Mount Fuji view. We love the Japanese style room.
The food was just average, had expected much better quality for the price I paid.

Breakfast was both Japanese and western so there were lots of options at meal time. The onsen was well kept and had beautiful views of nature.
It was a long bus ride to this hotel and taxis were expensive but necessary to get around. Not a lot to do at the hotel except the onsen.

The place is Amazing and the staff we're very nice. Breakfast and Dinner are so good and delicious .
The Onsen is very nice, because they close at late time(24:00) and open early (5:00am) so you can soak before bed and in the morning before breakfast . We highly recommend this place, we will coming back for sure
They close their shopping store so early.

Beautiful hotel with spotlessly clean rooms and an amazing hot spring. We really enjoyed the ryokan style rooms and the stunning view of Mount Fuji. Evening meal buffet was exceptional, with a great variety of foods. The breakfast buffet was also excellent with both Jananese and European options. Staff were helpful and very welcoming
There was nothing to dislike at all

Huge room with comfortable beds and outside bath. Good buffet breakfast and dinner. Great view of Mt Fuji!
A bit far from anywhere and ropeway was closed for maintenance so had to take a bus.

Since we have tattoos, the private onsen with a view of Mt Fuji was great. Food in the food court was a good selection of western food and Japanese food. Plenty of soda, juice, coffee options. Everyone was very friendly. Would stay again.
The gardens outside were beautiful with blooming hydrangeas but it was little overgrown so the view of Mt Fuji was a little obstructed. The water in our outdoor never fully turned off... not a big deal. not my water. But the property is older so some minor maintenance things like that. These were not a big deal to us at all, but just thought other people should know it doesn't quite match the pictures anymore but we would still definitely stay here again.

We have a room with a private Onsen. The fact that the water remained hot was great. The selection and quality of the food was also top notch.
A little tedious to get to the hotel specially when using the cable car and rope car. The views are scenic though and well worth the trouble.

Definitely pay a bit more to get a Fuji-facing bedroom. Incredible!

The atmosphere was calm and peaceful—perfect after our long journey throughout Japan. We also enjoyed the buffet-style breakfast served, though I must say that the highlight was the Onsen, especially the outdoor area. I'd recommend this to anybody looking for an authentic hot spring experience.

Nice quiet hotel a bit out of the area but had views of Mt Fuji from the yard. Room was big and beds were comfortable. Free parking on site. Onsen on site as well. Room was cleaned spotless every day. Staff friendly and polite. Buffet dinner and breakfast was great.
Nothing - all good

Very baby friendly - high chairs and little kid friendly cutlery and plates in the restaurant, plus a crib in the change rooms and baby seats in the onsen so your little one doesn't crawl away while you wash up.

The view and the food
Wish we could reserve onsen even for 30 minutes

Loved the women onsen! It is a shame that the weather was gloomy because we couldn't enjoy the view that much! The landscape is just stunning and the quality of this thermal water is amazing for the skin and hair.
The room was very big and had plenty of facilities. We loved the tea and cakes they offered :)
The staff was very kind and they all spoke english. There is algo a cute gift store where you can buy the beauty products you find at the onsen.
The buffet has plenty of options for dinner and breakfast - from japanese to western food.

Nice Onsen, i can see mt Fuji on the last day when there is fog. Great location in Ubako station, next to Owakudani. Garden had view of Mr Fuji too, beautiful during sunset.
Nice buffet, but got boring on second night…
Facilities look old and tired. You have to make your own bed, different with the other Ryokan I stayed. Bathroom is so small it got uncomfortable, I prefer to take shower in public area after onsen.
Hygiene is questionable, there was a literal human feces on the floor outside the men’s toilet in public bath… extremely disgusting… advised the hotel reception and obviously it was cleaned the next day.
4.5
mt Fuji view, large comfortable room, good breakfast and dinner buffet
getting to/from hotel was not the most convenient (unless you have a car)

everything. unbelievable location 270 meters from ropeway station obaku (send your luggage over in the morning if you plan to spend the day in Hakone). Charming traditional setting, rich and generous breakfast and dinner. Very helpful staff, and to top it off - a great onsen from which the women can view Mount Fuji! spectacular Mount Fuji view from the grounds. Shuttle service to local bus if you get tired of the cable cars :-)

The hotel was clean, the rooms spacious and comfortable. The onsen was a great experience and view of Mount Fuji was glorious. Breakfast and Dinners were also nice and tasty.
Transport to the hotel could have been better, it does get a little hard to get to once you miss the 4.15pm cut off.
3.5
nice location, center of hakone zone.
lack of futon preparation during covid19.

the view of Mt Fuji @6am. the Onsen.
communication ( English) was very challenging. the food was a cafeteria experience and not to my tastes. there were no English directional maps available.getting to the hotel by public transport is extremely challenging from the train station. took a second train and 2 buses ( 45 min) to get there. then dropped off and there were no signs Indicating where to go. no What’s App # to be able to call for assistance. on my return trip - turns out there was a bus that went directly to train station ( no transfers) not sure why I wasn’t told about that on my way in. the location is good if you don’t plan to sight see. it’s remote. I met another solo traveler who booked a few days before staying and he got a room with a much better view of Mt Fuji.
