It is the best hotel We have ever stayed at. Lamla and patrick were amazing. We had an amazing honeymoon. We will definitely be back!
Really nothing!! The only thing that would be amazing if there was a luggage scale but apart from that honestly nothing

our outdoor cushions were wet from previous rain, and we had to wait about an hour to get into our room. otherwise everything was great

amazing location with a lovely boutique feel
1.5 / 5.0
Positives - Patrick always checked in and gave off good vibes along with Sam at breakfast.
Majority of staff were super friendly and helpful however it is not consistent, clear lack of communication.
Amenities were excellent/top notch.
Welcome drink at the bar is a lovely touch with the aperitifs during the day. Room service lovely.
5 stars views - yes
5 star service - no…long way off.
This is our personal experience and may differ for other visitors.
Issues we experienced - Wife was ill and we needed to go to a pharmacy in hout bay. We couldn’t get Uber because of short distance. Originally we weren’t offered a transfer to hout bay, we had to ask to be dropped down after we showed Uber would not work. All locals in Hout Bay told us that Uber drivers do not pick up there to bring to Tintswalo as it is near the toll and local taxis will be annoyed at Uber drivers.
We were stranded in hout bay for 90minutes, we tried to get a local taxi but security and the manager of Checkers said it wasn’t safe for us and manager offered to take us himself. A 15minute task wasted two hours of our day. We were 2minutes in the pharmacy. As a 5* hotel in an isolated location, where walking is not an option we would expect a taxi/shuttle service to be organized.
Staff in restaurant don’t write down your orders and we ended up with food and drink wrong each day. For example how eggs were cooked for breakfast. During dinner, we ordered a glass of wine each to have with our steak, 20 minutes later, having already received our food and after having asked 4 different members of staff, they finally arrived.
Couldn’t tell who the manager of hotel was or who the manager of restaurant was? There were a lot of staff, however no one seemed to be leading the show.
Reception helpful but not bothered about taxi incident already mentioned and we had issue with payment leaving. When we paid load shedding happened and the money came out of my account however it didn’t go through on their payment side. Had to pay twice, attitude of reception came across like we were trying to get away with not paying?
Seating arrangements for dinner/sunset views. In-house guests should get the better seating than they external dinner guests.

The hotel is amazing, rooms are individually decorated in different Island themes. We stayed in Ithaca which is blue and white and has a Greek Island feel. The room is right on the water and its great going to sleep with the sound of the ocean. There is a small but adequate pool with nice chairs and a comfortable bed. All the staff were friendly and went out of their way to make our stay great.
The price is high and it's not that easy to leave once you are there. It's the perfect place for a few days stay but if you want to get out and see Cape Town it's probably not ideal although there are shuttles which can take you around if needed.

We had the most amazing stay! I honestly cannot speak highly enough about this hotel. The staff was so helpful and welcoming, the facility is beautiful and blends perfectly with the scenery and the view is UNBELIEVABLE. It is a bit of a splurge, but so worth it.

location, service, accommodation
Don’t ask guests about dietary requirements (3 times) and totally disregard the guests answer

Location and views are unsurpassed.
They checked us into a normal room with two extra beds for the kids while we had booked a two bedroom suite. The next morning there was a feeble apology along with a question along the lines of “would you like to see the other room, then you can decide if you’d like to move”. The suite was more than 3 times the size of the first room and obviously a lot more comfortable for 4 guests. No offer of a discount or voucher was mentioned. At checkout I asked what would be done, they responded by saying my wife’s spa treatment was complimentary.

It’s location, the food, the people.
Location wonderful but slightly too far from Cape Town for our needs. The drive was very repetitive.

The excellent service given. Constant communication and feedback given to ensure all I wanted was addressed. The friendliest of service with attention to detail. Truly enjoyed my stay

This was an incredible experience. The most beautiful location, friendly and attentive staff and delicious food. An absolute spoil!! I will be back for sure.
The cost is expensive in summer - perhaps local rates could be offered to South Africans / Capetownians. Only so I can return more often :) Otherwise, I simply cannot fault it. It is sensational in every aspect.

The omelettes for breakfast lacked a little flavour and texture. Rooms and staff are amazing and the restaurant was great. We would have liked to have stayed longer to add more to our experience but will return.
Perhaps a little more wood (for fireplace) in the rooms over the winter period.
