About this cottage rental

Beautifully restored and elegrantly furnished old stone mas with a lovely garden and large private swimming pool, in the open countryside between the picturesque villages of Madremanya and Monells, in the most exclusive area of the Amporda region and close to the area's best restaurants and most beautiful beaches.

The house has an indoor surface of around 250m2 and is built on 2 floors. On the ground floor, there is a large entrance hall; a spacious living-dining room with a fireplace and a dining area with a table for 10 and direct access to the terrace, with an outdoor dining table also for 10; a comfortable family room with a large screen tv; a modern and fully equipped kitchen; and a guest toilet. On the first floor there is a master bedroom with a bed of 160cm and its own bathroom with bath tub and shower; another double bedroom with 2 single beds that can be united; another double bedroom with 2 single beds, and that serves as a passage to the back part of the house; another full bathroom with a shower; and in the back part, which can also be accessed directly from outside, there are another 2 double bedrooms, each with a 150cm double bed, and another full bathroom with a shower. One of the rooms of this back part has air conditioning. The other 4 bedrooms, which don't receive direct sun and cool down well at night, all have ceiling fans.

The house stands on a large private property of 15.000m2, in the middle of the open country side and without neighbours close by. Around the house is a well-kept garden with a lawn, and a great fenced swimming pool of 12x6m. with a pool house and comfortable deck chairs.

Next to the house is a covered and shady terrace with an outdoor dining table for 10.

To book the house with access to all rooms, please send a booking request for 10 guests to obtain the correct price. In low season, we offer a reduced rental fee for groups of up to 6 guests, without access to the back part of the first floor, which remains closed and empty, and with use of 3 of the 5 bedrooms and 2 of the 3 bathrooms, at the rental fee corresponding to up to 6 guests.

We had a marvellous one week holiday at Mas Blau. The house is excellent (clean, cosy and with excellent facilities) and provided everything that our family needed to have a very relaxing week. Our boys loved the pool and the spacious (and from our point of view, very well-fenced) gardens and we enjoyed relaxing in a countryside setting watching the birdlife (especially the Hoopoe's). We didn't venture out too much but when we did found the local villages easy to reach with a number of good restaurants/bars. Despite a small hitch with the check in-process, this was soon rectified with prompt and effective communication with the host and action from the housekeeping team (who were also very keen to be helpful and to provide a warm welcome to the house and area). All in all, we thoroughly recommend Mas Blau and hope to return ourselves for another relaxing holiday in a lovely home.

My extended family spent 2 weeks at the property in March and had a wonderful time. The property is quiet and picturesque, and the house is spacious and enjoyable to spend time in. It was very clean upon check-in and well equipped. The children loved playing in the yard and in the pool. The countryside is beautiful and I can't think of a better place to be if you like cycling (the Volta a Catalunya literally passed by the house). There are plenty of charming little towns to visit, and any shopping/grocery needs are within a 12-minute drive. The property manager was very responsive when we had any questions about the house or needed something. We would go back.

Gezellige vakantiewoning met alles erop en eraan, zeer vlot contact met de eigenares. Rustige ligging tussen twee pitoreske dorpjes met gezellige restaurants. Mooi zwembad en een enorm verzorgde tuin. Enige minpunt niet alle kamers hebben airco en bij deze hitte was dit een must geweest(35 tot 40°)

We were a family of 10 (4 kids, 6 adults) and had a wonderful stay. The house is connected by a new walking/biking/running trail to both Madremanya and Monells. The house has beautiful views in every direction. The property is fenced which was great for the kids playing in the yard..plus an interior fence around the pool for safety. The home is lovely and had everything we needed from WiFi, kitchen items, washer/dryer, heat, etc.. Hosts were incredible- if anything came up, they responded right away. Highly recommend!

La casa es maravillosa, está muy bien conservada y tiene los baños renovados. Muy acogedora con un jardín impecable , de en sueño . Fuimos con un bebé de un año y nos facilitaron cuna, (la piscina está vallada ). El ama de llaves es encantadora y muy dispuesta. Estuvimos súper a gusto. 100% recomendable.

Wonderful Property

Our family of four spent several enjoyable weeks at Mas Blau in the Spring of 2020. The house is a beautifully restored Catalan farmhouse set amidst wheat fields just outside of Madremanya. The bedrooms are well decorated with comfortable beds and nice sheets. The bathrooms have been recently renovated. The house is well equipped and everything works well. Our kids loved the large selection of DVDs for movie night. The pool area is very comfortable and is a great place to spend the day relaxing. The property is surrounded by numerous dirt roads that are great for quiet hikes and bike rides. Nearby Monells has a few restaurants and bars and Bisbal d’Emporda at 15 minutes by car has an excellent selection of grocery stores and amenities. Property manager was excellent and available to answer all of our questions and help us with some special requests. If you’re looking for a great house in Emporda this is it.

Wow, what a trip and stay at the villa in Madremanya. Great location about a 30 min drive from Girona and the Costa Brava coast. We loved the quiet of the countryside and spacious rooms of the villa. Nice modern baths and everything you could need in the kitchen. We will be back!

We have stayed in many villas and this has to be the best by far! utterly beautiful in every way. So tranquil in its setting and every possible need catered for. The beds are extremely comfortable, the furnishings and furniture are lovely quality and aesthetically very pleasing. We had the most wonderful time.

Nous avons passé 4 nuits à mas Blau, et avons été enchanté par notre séjour. La maison est magnifique, tout a été choisi avec goût, et le jardin qui entoure la propriété très bien entretenu. Nos 3 enfants ont profité de la piscine tous les jours, ainsi que des raquettes. Nous espérons revenir, c’etait un véritable havre de paix.
