We’ve been staying in the ski trails condos for 35+ years

Location, location, location! Right on the slopes, yards away from the gondola. Basic ski condo. Be sure you are aware that the loft is accessed by a straight up ladder. One of my kids opted to sleep on the couch downstairs rather than climb the ladder.

The location is the best part about this condo. It’s the closest building on Ski View to the Big Springs gondola and right next to village run so a true ski in and ski out. There’s an easy path to walk down to the restaurants in the village.
About the condo amenities: it’s an older, not renovated unit, so it’s what you’d expect - functional. All the appliances work. The dishwasher is loud. The shower water pressure is good.
The kitchen pots and pans are pretty good (except the nonstick pan needs to be replaced IMO), but bring your own oil, salt, pepper etc if you plan to cook.
The upstairs loft is quite spacious. It is a very tall ladder to get up there, so kids younger than 5 would need to be supervised climbing up and down.
There were 3 sleds and 2 inner tubes - awesome for the kids to enjoy on the small slope right outside the condo.
Things that would’ve made this rental even better:
Because the washer/dryer is not inside the unit, it would be nice to have a laundry basket to use to take your clothes to the laundry room.
Dressers in both rooms would be nice so we don’t have to live out of our bags if we’re there for more than a few days.

This is a great place to stay. A true ski in/ski out. This is our second time staying at the place. Fyi, there is a ladder that is going up to the loft and not stairs. If you are uncomfortable going up ladders, I would't recommend this place. The bedroom is on the floor though. Overall, this is a great place to stay at

Great location, ski-in/ski-out and easy walking distance to the heart of the village. The second bedroom is a loft without complete walls, and with a very tall ladder to access, which was too much for our young kids

We loved the location, walked to the pool, skating meals and hiking. Kids loved the bunk beds in the loft and beds were comfy. Patio was great to enjoy breakfast.

Condo and location was fantastic value for money. Loved it!
Very hard to get hold of Vrbo staff on the phone, and delay in email response.
Fine if not needing them in 24 hours.

This property is super convenient location right on the mountain. We enjoyed the location the most.
The major issues for us were on the listing here the property said we could have 2 vehicles, and one pass was provided. We had two cars for our party staying there. I reached out to the phone numbers and emails listed, but I was told multiple times the local property manager would be in touch, but never has any response from them whatsoever. I did follow up with more than one phone call attempt, but never got a response from the local management team.
In addition to the no communication, the condo is in much need of a deep clean. There was thick layers of dust everywhere. With a fireplace that we couldn't get to work with what was provided and would have asked the property manages about, but couldn't due to lack of communication.
We will probably stay at someone else's unit in this area that is not with Grand Welcome property management group in the future.

This was a wonderful place to stay. It's a bit rustic and some of you will need to climb a ladder to get in & out of bed. But well worth it as you are 85 steps from the door to the ski run to the gondola. However, check out the extra cost as they doubled our rate for a 4 night stay. Hard to understand the cost to clean a ~800sqft condo.

Great location close to the Village and the trails for biking /hiking.
This is the third time our family has stayed in this area. Love it and will continue to come back!

Great value at the ideal Northstar Village location.
Beautiful property at the best location by the Village at Northstar. You get all you could possibly need at a great value. The property is comfy, clean, quiet, and just a few steps from the Village. It has membership to the Northstar Property Owner's Association club with fantastic swimming pools, gym, kid's activities, etc. (a small, guest fee $ per person is customary). Management/owner communication was impeccable! We had a wonderful time during our stay and will definitely look to book this property again.

Great getaway!
Great place. Basic and complete. Good view of Northstar Village. Nice and quiet.

Great location, basic place
Nothing fancy about the space but it was plenty for my daughter and I to enjoy a few days at Northstar. The only major drawback was the very loud heater that gets annoying at night.

Easy access to Northstar Village and slopes
We have rented many of the ski in/ski out condos at Northstar and always enjoy the experience and ease of access to everything. I didn't fully appreciate the accuracy of the access to loft bedroom being by ladder until I saw it... a great space up top but not likely something you'll want to be descending in the middle of the night to use the bathroom! Great place, very comfortable (and a treat to have the heat on and the music playing when we walked in after a COLD day of skiing!).
Thank you.

Perfect location
Great location, clean, minimal but everything you needed.

Great location. Unresponsive property management
The condo location is impeccable, within walking distance from gondola and village run. The poor quality of property management became obvious when the weather is not cooperative. There wasn’t enough snow for the ski resort to open so we decided to check out the rec center. However, the front desk told me that the access key card is out-dated and VRBO renters actually aren’t allowed to used the facility without paying for day-use.
In addition to that, I communicated to property management that we weren’t able to turn on the fireplace because the key to turn on the gas does not fit. The property manager only got back to me saying they already relayed the message to on-site management, which I never met during the stay.
Without the fireplace, the heater turned on every 30-40 min, which is super loud for anyone slept in the loft.
One other small thing to complain is the cleaning. I can smell dog pee around the TV area but I guess it’s something unavoidable if you are renting a place that allows pet.
In summary, the location is hard to beat if the resort is open for business but you may not have those nice little things that the listing claims to provide.

Great ski-in/ski-out location
One of the closest condos to the village gondola/village express lift, ski-in and ski-out even when Condo Run is closed.

Dirty and issues with bathroom with no response
Though the condo is in a great location, the overall experience was tarnished by a dirty bathroom, with sink and bathtub drainage issues and on top of that towels that are better described as rags. I called the property management 4 times requesting the cleaning and addressing of these issues and was totally ignored. Really a shame... the minimum you would expect from a rental is cleanliness and prompt response to take café of any issues... does not apply for this particular peppery.

Awesome location
The location cannot be beat, awesome ski-in/ski-out access with close proximity to village. The property shows it's age but is in ok condition. But overall offers a lot of value.

Cute condo very convenient to everything
Really well taken care of condo, supplied with everything that you might need for your stay. Very clean and well maintained. Great location in the village near the gondola excellent place to go mountain biking from. There is lift service for bikes Thursday to Sunday and on the off days there are lots of cool rides nearby and a small skills park within 5 minutes of the condo. The pool was super for the kids just make sure to make reservations in advance as numbers are controlled due to the Pandemic. The poolside snacks were really good too and we had lunch there a few days also check opening hours for this one as they are limited. It's about a ten minute drive to Truckee which has everything you might need. The new Raleys One supermarket near the airport is as good as any Wholefoods! Also near the Airport is the Truckee Bike Park great for adults and kids and free open 7 days. Truckee creamery has a really awesome ice cream truck in town and their ice cream is the best in the area. Allibi Brewery in Truckee is a local secret great beer and food and now they have a beer garden so you can dine and drink outside. Other fun things to do include tubing on the Truckee River renting canoes or kayaks on Donner Lake or Tahoe Lake. A week isn't enough we will have to return for more fun in the Fall.

Lovely Tahoe getaway
This condo is accurately represented. It’s in a fantastic location in Northstar close to the ski-in/out and snowshoe trails. It is clean, simple, and had what I needed. I loved my stay and enjoyed being in nature. If I could make two suggestions it would be to have some additional lighting (it felt a little dark at times) and to add a deadbolt to lock for extra security. Overall very nice time, thanks!

Very convent very accurate description. Great price.

great location ski in/out
We loved the location. The condo is older and has some expected normal aging but hard to beat the ski/out and closeness to the village area activities, restaurants, etc. The loft is definitely nice for older children but know that it is a climb straight up a ladder. We used the guest pass once to go over to the owner's recreation center that has 3 outdoor hot tubs, one that is adult only. Know that it is $5 per person per day to use and a bit of a walk or short drive. It also had an arcade area that our son really liked with ping pong, air hockey, etc.

Awesome Tahoe feel!
The home is comfortable and neat with plenty of amenities including a full kitchen. The loft was perfect for my 12 year old. Can’t wait to come back next year!

We’ll definitely be back!
The location was perfectly close to the village, right above the finish line of the Tahoe Trail 100, doorstep access to trails to train on and the condo was the correct size!
The condo is a bit spartan of new upgraded amenities, but the place was clean and it got the job done. The interior lighting definitely needs improvement. Our family loves this spot and we’ll be back!

true ski in condo
just as advertised -- ski in/ski out was convenient. Loft was a great place for my son to hang out.

Location, Location
Great North Star location, with a quick ride up the gondola to the slopes. Straight-forward no frills location, with a well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds.

It's a great location but not particularly comfortable.
I wish I could post a picture. In general it was fine with a great location. It's a fire hazard though so don't bring little kids.

Family get away
It was just 4 of us who wanted to have a "white christmas" this year. It was beautiful - cosy village, cosy place and great snow for ski lovers.
We felt like home in the little, but very well designed condo. We thought it can easily fit 3 kids , and keep telling our 20 years old that she should bring a ski buddy next time.
There are many places in the village to eat, but since kitchen was in the condo we had breakfast at home and apre ski too. I even volunteer to grill for dinner, but my folks wanted me to have a "vacation" from my full-time cooking job.
I will recommend the place any time - nice hot shower/bath after ski, lovely get together by fireplace (electric-no smell/no danger) and comfortable beds. Enough bedding, towels and dinnerware for an army!
There is a club house with jacuzzi and heated pool for the parents and game arcade for kids. Too bad only can stay for 4 days!
