Excellent staff, especially the front desk manager, Becky, was extremely helpful and professional.
The breakfast buffet and lunch options were great too.

Breakfast and dinner buffet fantastic. Especially if you have been in the mountains for some days for hiking. Then it's amazing with all the good food:-)
The service and staff did an amazing job. We had a Wonderfull stay.
The light in the bathroom is not so great. Except for this we don't have anything which could have been done different.

The reception is beautiful but for a Shangri—La, the rooms were not worth the money it costs compared to other hotels in the area.
The rooms were very hot… the air con could not be turned on. The shower was a basic shower and the hotel corridors smelt like cigarette smoke. it is not work the 3,000rmb per room price.

Shangri La was really cold this time of year. We switched hotels from somewhere freezing. Staying in Shangri la in Shangri la is a great option. On check in our room was upgraded to a room with a great view. it was lovely to watch the CNY fireworks from our room. Staff at this hotel are great they would top up our water (we needed lots of hot drinks to stay warm). I would recommend this hotel a lot.
The seating area in the lobby etc was pretty cool as was the restaurant.

Location, cleanliness, hospitality, helpful staff.
Bit cold in the common areas like lobby and restaurant.

Beautiful hotel, great breakfast with variety of options, sauna and gym, HBO, short walk to old town and Flying Tigers cafe.
Nothing; it was great. Just a note that we needed a negative COVID test within 48 hrs of our stay.

Breakfast room staff was very attentive and helpful, and at least 2 associates with really good English skills.
English skill level of receptionists (of a 5 star hotel) at Zero, except for one lady who spoke good English. Without her nothing would have worked. We also received wrong information on club lounge services, and were first wrongly charged for F&B. Only after complaint to the lady who spoke English and after presenting our booking documents indicating our entitlement to club lounge services, the invoice was immediately invalidated.

I wouldn’t recommend the hotel, in general, and definitely not the executive rooms with a balcony. The balconies really can’t be used. There is a big bench outside, but it needs a cushion and is uncomfortable. Their executive happy hour is a debacle: sodas and wines are left in a large bowl without ice. You have to ask for beer and there are no cocktails, as advertised.
The breakfast buffet is not what you would expect from other Shangri-la Hotel stays. In general, the restaurant that was open for breakfast and lunch was mediocre.
The staff are kind and try to be helpful. Systems in place there are not like other Shangri-la Hotels.

Staff were friendly , hotel was quiet and peaceful, there was everything you needed here including a supermarket that was open late
On occasion I saw people smoking in the hotel lobby and elevator areas. Even there was no smoking signs visible. There people should be punished for harming the health of others through passive smoking

The breakfast was decent. Tasty baked goods, some Western options, fresh fruit, coffee machine. Good value for the price.
The hotel is a little dark and dated. When we first arrived the water features weren't working. The rooms are a bit drab. There was only one restaurant option which was OK but only a buffet for breakfast and dinner.

Breakfast is good. Staff is helpful besides the communication issues.
We were expecting a 5star international hotel and this is not what you get. Very hard to communicate with staff in English. Not all staff wear uniform so you don't really understand who's staff and who's not. Spa area looks like a store room. Room is comfortable but no items in minibar, no light for vanity mirror, heater function not working and some other things missing.
In conclusion, for the price paid we were expecting much more.

Quite and very nice helpfull people.
Rooms are big and very clean.
Lucky me, there was during the day a Tibetan reunion. So nice to see those happy people.
Everything was very good.

Lovely hotel located in the city center. We got a great view of the city on the 8th floor facing the lake. Not so far from the old town, only 10 mins by taxi. Taxi are readily available so it’s easy to go around. Staff are polite and nice. Breakfast has an option for authentic local Tibetan food & it’s nice to try it.
Central location but there’s nothing there except the hotel. Not so many restaurants around to choose from. 2 restaurants of the hotel were closed due to the covid situation so we’re stuck with only one restaurant which doesn’t have many options. They don’t serve wine by the glass & the dinks option in the lobby is very limited, no cocktails or spirits. The staff doesn’t speak good English.

The property was everything we have come to live about Shangri-la hotels. Clean, spacious, superb locations and fantastic staff.
The buffet breakfast was good, great location for an easy stroll into the old town. Our children had lots of fun here.
Swimming pool was a little cold for my liking. The executive lounge experience was different to what we were expecting. However, the manager was amazing and made sure that her staff looked after us.
