This house has character. It’s was comfortable.
A few things in the property did not work. - but communication with the agent was very prompt.

Wonderful cottage, which has all the amenities you need to relax in the countryside. Jacuzzi was a big hit for adults and kids, lovely and warm.
Only thing to note is that there is one shower room downstairs which is very small.
Throughly enjoyed our stay.

Ended the week very relaxed. Very quiet, beautiful cottage and the hot tub was to die for. Loads of nature around us and some amazing walks across fields and down country lanes and bridle ways. Very close to Oxford which was handy. Eynsham Coop and wine merchant was useful as well.
only suggestion is that man in road into Oxford is constantly busy so Swinford tool bridge is useful although remember your 5p crossing fee!

Fantastic country break for a weekend!

Our family stayed at Brook Cottage to make a weekend of the Christmas Light Trail at Blenheim Palace. It's well located and relatively easy to find. Short drive or nice amble to the local village of Eynsham, and within easy reach of the M40.
The cottage itself is very nicely decorated and was very clean on our arrival. Rooms are a decent size and the beds were comfy. A few of our party braved the hot tub as well which was a nice treat!
There were a few details which could be improved upon - for example, there was a large damp patch in the corridor from a previous guest flooding the shower, but we weren't made aware of this prior to our arrival. We felt that there could have been more basic condiments provided in the kitchen (eg oil, salt, sugar, pepper, which are fairly standard in most holiday lets). There were no hand towels in the bathroom and there weren't enough bath towels provided on our arrival (to be fair this was rectified as soon as we asked). The dining chairs in the kitchen appeared to be those normally used in wedding marquees, which was a little odd. Also there weren't quite enough wine glasses...!
The property manager Sarah was a very responsive communicator, allowing us to have a late check out and making sure we had towels delivered when there weren't initially enough provided.
Overall, a good stay, with a few little niggles which we wouldn't have expected for the price we paid for the weekend.

Lovely property. We had a long weekend stay at the property and it was perfect. Kids loved the hot tub, adults loved the large kitchen table, and dog loved the long circular walk down to the Thames and back. Host was quick with a couple of requests re towels, and very understanding when said dog managed to escape from her lead and cause some distress. Really enjoyed staying here.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have a very good time and were disappointed with the condition of the cottage. Prior to arrival we had been told that the BBQ wasn’t working. Then, while at the cottage the dishwasher didn’t work and, after being told it would be fixed asap, it remained unfixed for the duration of our stay. We also noted that the fridge wasn’t working properly (the milk went sour) and this was also not looked at. The kitchen wasn’t comfortable to sit in as a family as the table was uneven and the chairs were dirty and uncomfortable. All this meant that we didn’t utilise the kitchen very much and ate out more that we had planned to.
The overall level of cleanliness wasn’t up to our expectations and there were also broken glass bits outside, that our son picked up and disposed of. Between having to wash everything by hand, not being able to utilise the kitchen much, worrying about food going off in the fridge, having to take out the bins (on bin collection day and at checkout) and stripping the beds - we felt that our stay was not good value for money and wasn’t the relaxing getaway we had been looking forward to.
Very disappointing.

Great place and location
Fabulous place and surrounding walks, great for the family and the kids loved it. Recommend the circular walks near by

Great stay at Brook Cottage
Brook Cottage is a fantastic place for getting away from it all but with a great space for socialising and hanging out with friends and family. We had a lovely time with family celebrating my parent's Golden Wedding Anniversary with walks in the countryside and cosy nights in the cottage. There is a long drive down a farm track to get there but once there you are in the middle of the countryside with the village approx 1 mile away.

Lovely property
We spent the weekend in this lovely quirky property, tucked away down a long drive. Very quiet. House is clean and in good condition. Super comfortable beds, soft towels. We didn’t really use kitchen, made use of the good local pubs!

Lovely stay!
Beautiful cottage near chocolate box village with plenty of walks in the nearby area. The cottage was very comfortable with gorgeous decor - the perfect country escape, with also easy access to Oxford.

The only thing missing was mr. Darcy galoping around the corner....
Brook cottage was a lovely place. The cleanliness was super, the cottage super cute, we loved the location, close to oxford, close to blenheim palace and close to cotswold in all its greatness. We saw foxes, deer, rabbits and squirrels. We made lovely walks with the dogs to the Thames through fields and meadows...
A good mirror in the bedroom would be nice, so lady’s can check there outfit before mr. Darcy comes for a cup of tea..

A rural idyll with mod cons!
Brook Cottage.. this little house in its own grounds spoke to me, "come & relax". Tastefully decorated & furnished, quality mattresses & bedding, and as a chef, i found pretty good kitchen equip too.
In the garden & around, there are sheep, fat rabbits, butterflies, bats, deer, & resident green woodpecker. If you're lucky, you'll be able to gather plums, apples, hazel nuts, elder & blackberries, wild white currants & a walnut tree just down the lane - sadly I stayed before they were ripe!
If you chose to book, I hope you enjoy Brook Cottage & it's surroundings, as much as my family & I did.

The Perfect country break
We had the best time at Brook Cottage. The cottage was very well equipped with a great, spaceous kitchen. The garden was enclosed and big enough for our 2 boys and dog to have a kick around. The surrounding countryside was beautiful, unspoilt and very peaceful! The host Martin was excellent and ensured that we had everything we needed. Would strongly recommend...
Until the next time.....
